Yay, wannabes.

Don't call it Ana or Mia. It's degrading. It's anorexia and bulimia. They're life-destroying psychological illness', not people who can have their names shortened. Thanks.

If you really had an eating disorder, you wouldn't advertise on an internet forum for someone to count calories with. You wouldn't want to involve other people - you'd want the control left to you alone, you wouldn't want people butting in and you'd be ashamed of your eating disorder. Whether you'd want to recover is negligible - it gets to a point where you do, but at first you can't see yourself without an ED. You're still ashamed, whether you want to or not.

Stop attention seeking. Pro Eating Disorder websites are the worst thing that ever happened to the internet - they're trigger Eating Disorders in people, they keep people in Eating Disorders, they don't support, they hinder. Severely. I know from first hand experience. So don't come onto a website which promotes HEALTH not insanity and spread your views. Pro - ED is a disease in itself and needs to be stopped.

I'm gonna stop now. This has annoyed me.

I don't see why people say "don't rush kissing" ... it's only a kiss. Don't rush sex, no, but kissing?

Anyway, I was 7. Hated it, thought it was disgusting :P
The next time I kissed a guy I was 14.
I also began my first 'serious' relationship at 14 and I'm now 17, and been with the guy over 2 years. Lala.
Young Calorie Counters looking up to fashion models and celebrities as diet role models? Feb 06 2008

I don't aspire to look like a supermodel. I think most supermodels are ugly - they look sickly and unnatural. Not all, as you will see with my second example, but some.

I think that ... if you are going to aspire to a celebrity, aspire to one which has a similar figure type to you. For instance, I look up to Emma Bunton because she's thin but healthy, has an hourglass figure like myself and is toned and confident within herself. I am aware that photographs of her are photoshopped, but she is still what I would like to be in my dreams!

It would be useless me aspiring to be like, lets say Lily Cole. I have E cups, she has A cups, I'm small, she's tall, she has barely any figure, I have hips with a small waist. It would be pointless because it would be extremely unachievable. Emma Bunton and Lily Cole are both beautiful women, they're just very different.

What a stupid thing.

I was 15. I was mature enough and I don't regret, still with the guy now. Blahblahblah.

Just do whatever you feel is right. Don't go by the average 'losing virginity age' on calorie count :roll eyes:

Heh, thanks. I just see loads of people on here saying "I'm going to binge, I can't eat anything like that because it'll make me put weight on!" when it really won't if they're sensible about.

See I don't need/want a boob job but I want lipsuction when I'm old enough and my parents said I can - infact my mother was all for it, confidence boost or what ey?

Anyway, I think plastic surgery should not be allowed on the NHS (blayts that I'm in Britain) unless it's for reconstruction of an accident/illness etc. But if you pay privately (like I will be doing) then there's no reason why you shouldn't.

I'm going on a ramble, sorry. Well as it seems to be a 'whim' with you, I would consider whether you want to go through the pain, the being laid up for a while, the money etcetc. To be fair though, I'd love smaller boobs so can we swop? xD
The Lounge Why do so many people want to be sooooo small?! Jan 08 2008
16:10 (UTC)
I'm guilty of this. I have friends who are naturally skinny - one eats like a horse and is bordering underweight - and would love to look like them. I think skinny women look so much more graceful.

That aside, I doubt I'll ever get like that. I can try, but I have a feeling that I will fail abysmally. 112 pounds would do me - I'm 5"2.

Young Calorie Counters i was wondering if i could bust in here for help with my 15 year old daughter? Jan 05 2008

Hm, this is a tough question. As for various intoxicants, they're all a part of my personal lifestyle but is that an appropriate way to live and is it appropriate for a mother like yourself to let your daughter undertake those activities without a fight?

I don't think so.

9th Grade? Ok, she's veryvery young for these things to be happening in her life. As much as I sound like a hypocrite, I hadn't ever had more than a glass of wine at Christmas when I was in year 9 at High School.

Maybe you could try encouraging her into other activies rather than say "no you are not doing this now stay in your room". Dancing, music, football, art, anything really which you think she may be interested in. She might make new and more sensible friends that way also.
Or go out as a family, take her to the cinemas on a night where you know she'll be doing these things.

In year 9 she is also probably not educated in what these drugs do to her. Teach her what they do and what the consequences are and then, she will at least think twice before she acts.

Let her out, but give her a curfew. Don't let her stay at other peoples houses - because that is where/when it all happens. Only let her out a limited number of times a week. She is still only 15 - at 15 I had an 11pm cut off time for my internet :) So you're not being too harsh at all.

I'm 17 and have mostly older (18-20) friends. I just don't associate with 13-15 year olds, as this thread has grouped with me. It's not a persons age, it is their maturity level.

Within reason, of course.

There are also those who take part in mixed age-group activities. I for instance have primary interests in reading, travelling and music - particularly live gigs and festivals. Yet I do like to go out and party the night away at clubs/parties, whilst drinking an obscene amount. Immaturity and maturity are afterall, appropriate at different points. Especially at the ages we are all at now.

I don't understand how people would let themselves get that bad.

I didn't see this programme but I've seen similar and quite frankly, it disgusts me. Not for superficial reasons, but because basically don't they realise how much they're messing up their body?

And how greedy! It's pure greed, they know and so does everyone else that they don't need that much food. Ugh.
Young Calorie Counters teen starting over: foods you eat :) Jan 04 2008
18:49 (UTC)

1) Healthy foods I eat?

I love roast chicken - skin or otherwise, seasoning or otherwise. I also eat a lot of tuna and salmon. I don't really eat red meats very often.

I eat the slightest amount of margarine on toast and never eat it on sandwiches. I eat pasta a lot - usually with pesto sauce - and I love boiled and jacket potatos.

I eat fruit and vegetables obviously, although the only fruit I really like is bananas ... when I'm making gravy I pour some of the liquid from the vegetables into the gravy because then I'm not losing all the good stuff from the vegetables.

I do like eggs but I'm on strike from eating them until my mother stops buying them from caged hens. When I do eat eggs, I eat them scrambled or boiled. Ocassionaly fried in very low fat / low amount of cooking oil. Rapseed (sp?) oil I think it is - my mother buys it, heh.

My treat kind of thing would be garlic bread and cheese - I could live on the stuff. And I love beef lasagne.

A way to eat healthily is to just simply learn how to cook. I'm learning and it's making me eat healthier automatically.

Oh and I drink semi-skimmed milk (when I do drink it ...) because skimmed milk although lower in calories, has been processed so much that it's lost a lot of it's goodness.

2) To stop binging, don't deny yourself. The more you say to yourself "no I can't eat this" the more you'll want it and the more chance you're going to binge and feel guilty after. If you want lets say, a chocolate bar - have a chocolate bar, just make sure it's a small amount and you work it into your daily amount of calories.

3) Healthy snacks? Well fruit/vegetables - celery, mandarine, apples, bananas, tomatos etc, all depending on what you like. I also used to eat prawns - baby ones. I dunno what happened to that actually ...

Nuts are also healthy depending on how much you eat.

I'm 17 now :P I just haven't changed my profile.
Not that it makes much difference heh.

Oh :(
That's brought me right back to the days when I was 12 years old, had DD cups, was 5"2 and had already started my period, and was told I was fat at 9 stone haha. Because all the other girls my age were about 6 stone. It's given me the exact same feelings of hatred for myself and hatred for how much further developed I am than girls my age.

Well, I'm going to completely disregard that just as I disregard the daily calorific intake of 2500 they want me to have.

I WILL put weight on with 2500 calories a day. A lot of weight.
And I'm not fat. Chubby, not fat. Curvaceous, not fat.

Yeah, that has made me feel abit defensive and down. :(

Oh and I will use the stuff in the second post :) Thanks both :)

Don't worry - it's ONLY 2 pounds! Remember it! :)
I doubt you've put 2 pounds in one day. A pound - 3,500 calories. Have you eaten 7000 calories along with the calories you might have burnt off in the day? Doubtful.

It's probably just extra water weight or something. :)

Don't go straight to 1200.

Coming from a person with/recovering from an ED, if you go straight to that amount of calories you'll panic and feel really bad about yourself. Your body won't like it and you'll pile on the weight too at first, which will also make you panic. Then you'll throw in the towel and the cycle will start again.

Go to 800 for a few days. Then 900. Then 1000. etc.

Go like that until you reach about 2500 a day - if you're an anorexic weight, then you'll need to put weight on.
And yes, eating little but often is fine :) Aslong as you get the correct amount of calories.

Until you reach a weight where it is deemed healthy and then find a calorie intake which is over 1200, which will help you to maintain.

I'm recovering from bulimia and I uhm, I don't get excited about food - I'm stuck in the frame of mind that it's a necessity. Then again, I am still in deep water - I suppose I will get better.

Saying that I was excited about going to Pizza Hut with my friends last week, but that was because I was with my best girlfriends not because of the food, heh. I suppose that's an improvement - I never really went for meals before.

Motivation Tired of feeling fat!! Dec 19 2007

Yeah. Recently.

I'm 5"2, and I went from 11stone to 10stone originally and I've never again gone over 10stone.
But I wanted to be slimmer and have a healthy BMI so I went to 9stone7. I then went back up to 10 stone recently and I was so disappointed!

But I'm back into it now - exercising regularly and eating healthier - and I'm down to 9stone5/6 now and still going. I want to get well into my healthy BMI (8stone7 maybe) so that I have room for fluctuation. :)

I'm also recovering from bulimia, but that's another story lol.

You can do it, just get back into it :) Maybe this is the push you need to change your lifestyle for good instead of crash dieting down to the weight :)

I just think about what the run is going to achieve. I find it much more productive going for a run than sitting on my arse at a computer. :P I think about what I really want - do I want my hour of laziness and boredom, or do I want an hour which is going to make me feel better at the end of it?

And I understand the 5poundsbeing10 thing. I'm 5"2 and it's like that for me, and you're even smaller so it must be really difficult.
