amen beanie (hi btw!  lol.  newbie here)

i had NO idea how many calories i was eating a day.  after just tracking everything, i figured out i was eating anywhere from 3000-4000 calories A DAY.  fudge.   for now, i'm trying to keep it down to 2500 but i need to work down to 1500 calories.  i 've also started (in jan)excercising every other day.  according to this site tho, i have 129 lbs to lose.  (i'm at 269 after losing 6lbs).  at this point, i would be happy to be under 200.

i am so down w/this.  i have a love/hate relationship w/food.    LOVE to eat it, HATE what is does to my thighs.  ugh.  and i am a binge eater for certain.   night time is the worst.  after the kids go to bed, often we have friends over and i snack while playing poker (cause, you know, i had all that free time i was bored waiting for my turn...lol), or snack during a movie, or snack cause i'm on my period, or snack cause i just had dinner...oh wait...lol.  seriously tho, i ate dinner last night and skipped desert (yea!) but not 15 minutes later reached for a bowl of chex mix.  then some nuts.  then we sat down to play texas hold 'em and my husband (God love him...grrr) pours a gi-nor-mous bag of Robins Eggs (yea ...er...boo...for easter candy) into a bowl and i proceed to eat them like popcorn.  UGH!  

why do we love to eat so much?  why do we binge?   any takers for thier thought on why?

good luck everyone, evening is approaching in my neck of the woods.  i feel like i'm about to go into battle.

avesha, tina and everyone else...

i'm so with you on the scales thing.   it is SO easy to get down when you don't see the numbers moving.  i've been MUCH more active than ever in my LIFE since Jan but am REALLY struggling w/changing my eating habits.  that of course is greatly hindering any weight loss.  of course because of this, i often don't want to fix the eating problem OR go excercise because it doesn't seem to be doing any good even tho i KNOW better.   so, in light of the fact that i needed a little boost to keep me going and a better way of seeing some kind of results for all my hard work, i went today and had a my body fat percentage  measured.     this way, even tho i'm struggling with the scales, i will be able to see SOME KIND of change.  i really think it will help.  

has anyone else done that?  and did it help?

tomorrow i'm having a fitness test done and having a trainer  help me  set up a more specific excercise program for me.

hello to everyone!  well so far so good!  i went and worked out 2 days in a row, took a day off, then belly danced today for about an hour and a half!  yea me!

and for the other ladies,  good luck on the cruise!  how awesome is that!

WAHAHAHAHAHA!  i looked at your profile ellybell and my eyes happened to be watering....i saw   "interests:  cooking dogs...."

hahahahah.   maybe i should wait to read things AFTER my eyes clear.  much easier to notice COMMAS that way.   heh


i do find drinking crystal light helps, but always wondered if that was kind of cheating?  does it really count as drinking water?   for some reason i always thought not.

yeah, i REALLY struggle with the water thing!  i find buying bottles of water helps somewhat.  easier to keep track of how much and of course i can take it w/me!  also, i have switched to wheat breads and rolls and try to eat spaghetti SQUASH instead of noodles w/marinara or alfredo sauces.  (yes i know alfredo is fatty-one thing at a time tho!)   thanks for the tips tho!

well i just found this group and am not only feeling the motivation....but the "boob cheese"  thing is killing me....ROFL

i am not terribly tall, but have always considered myself an amazon as the trend among my friends is 5ft-5'3 it seems.  i am 5'7"  269 lbs.  i joined the jan challenge to do 750 mins of excercise and fell short of it by about 60 mins.   then joined the feb challenge and due to my husband getting meningitis (!) and thankfully recovering from that and back surgery, i've fallen waaaay short for Feb (only about 360 min's out of 750!)
in jan i also brought my caloric intake from an average of 3500 a day(! again) to 2000.   i seem to be slipping back up the month of feb tho.  a new month is about to start and i want to really get back on track.  my husband is fully recovered (gets tired easily...but MUCH better) and he and i have joined our community center to go work out together. 
and i am REALLY having a problem w/my calories.  i like to eat/snack/binge/inhale!  
so.......suggestions?  what do you all do when you feel a need to feed?

as of yesterday i was 685/750.  regretfully my husband also went to the emergency room last night so i don't know that i'll make it.  but i have a few more hours and even HE is telling me i can still do this.  i figure i have until midnight darn it!

i NEVER excercise.  i avoid it like the plague.  but i am tired of being winded when going up my own stairs! i took the 750 min challenge-next time i will do 1000!  i feel great!  so far i've done.......
