I saw my Dr. on monday, for a physical, and she told me to start the south beach diet. I have gained 10 pds, in the past two months. :(

Hi robbie!! I'm having a problem losing weight, and i think mine is probably also due to the anti-depressants that i take. I've been on them since june. Like you my husband and i are also empty nesters. We have two grown sons also. I have been exercising my tail off, and watching what i eat, but i'm not losing like i should!! :(

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE MIRRORS. Monday i was trying on dresses at von maur, and i could see the back of me. Well omg. I looked like CRAP. It made me want to cry. I hate trying on clothes at stores. :(

For my cardio, i'm doing 30 mins on the elliptical, and 20 mins on the stepper. Then i move to weights for 15 mins, 5 days a week.

My weakness is lays potato chips {classics}. It's so very true for me, that you can't eat just one!! I don't even have these in my house anymore. I just tried the 100 cal micro-kettle corn, and it's pretty yummy. :)

I'm having the same problem. I got on the scale yesterday, and was up 2.5 pounds. Very discouraging. I've been going to the gym 5 days a week. I'm doing 55 mins of cardio. 30 mins on the elliptical, and now increased the stepper to 25 mins. Then i do some strength training. I have also cut back on my cals, to 1500 a day. When i see the scale go up, it makes me want to eat!!! I drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. What is  going on? I've been going to the gym since november, and have only lost 4 pounds!!! Help. Need advice. :(

Hi twindaze,

I joined tops after our 2nd son was born in 84. I weighed in at 167 1/2. I belonged for 4 years. It worked for me, but you are really on your own. For me weighing in every week really helped. When i left tops 4 years after i joined i was 114!!!      &nb sp; Take-care jill

Hello to all us shorties!! I'm also 5'1 and a 1/4. I'm at acurrent weight of 140. My goal is 119. I also really like this website, as it helps me to keep control of my eating, when i write everything down. :)

Hi everyone! I joined snap fitness back in november. I currently go 3-4 times a week. I do 30 mins on the eliptical, and 10 mins on the stair stepper. 20 mins on strength training. I'm so glad i found this website.
