I had a stomach virus since thursday that I am just now getting over...so I did not enjoy ANY easter treats...or any food at all for that matter.

normally, I would...however, I have been eating out/ordering out all week and will be for quite awhile.  Our kitchen is being remodled so there is no stove, fridge, microwav, etc.  I have been buying all of my meals.  It is easy for breakfast and lunch because I can buy an english muffin and a salad at work, but at home I am not the one who normally orders dinner and I don't usually have much choice.  So although I know I probably won't be losing much weight over these weeks I am hoping to maintain if I work out enough.

Maybe I will stick with some unsweetened ice tea...although the place I am going have a "mini" chicken burrito served with salad that they claim is under 500 calories...so I might be able to afford one.

A lot of the things on the menu are actually LESS than i had expected, but maybe I was just over estimating everything in my head.  Take away the steak fries from a lot of things and that takes a lot of calories away.

Not a dieter's heaven, but could be worse.  And I usually get the Chicken Ensalada platter anyway (turns out it is not so bad) and it is super tasty

Happy V-Day!  So, I didn't hit the 5 pound mark, but I didn't really expect to be able to, it sometimes takes me a month to lose that much.  But I am happy with the loss I had...

Started challenage at 153

As of today I am 149.5, so that's a los of 3.5 pounds. (which if I don't stop eating all the Valentine's day chocolate floating around my office, won't be a 'loss' much longer!)

I would normally never suggest Atkins...but I have heard it works for the short term (chances are that you will put the weight back on AFTER the wedding) but if you're desperate, it is worth a try.  Just try and do it in a healthy way (best you can) Lots of veggies and lean protein, not just bacon and pepperoni.

you're still pretty young so there is a good chance you skin will bounce back (but nothing is a guarentee).  Make sure to drink plenty of water and use a good skin lotion (I use a 'stretch mark prevention' lotion, you can find them in any CVS)

Also, the slower you lose weight the more time your skin has to recoup.

and hey, if after 75 pounds you aren't noticing any loose skin, I would think that your chances of getting it are minimal, esp if you are only trying to lose about 20 more pounds.

Thanks for the heads up...I'll save the fat free stuff for another day (it was the first time I tried it...didn't work so great on the nachos either)

That is definately a recipe I am going to save...however, for this time, I do not have evaportated skim milk or cornstarch (or just plain reduced fat cheddar) only the fat free...

should I not bother trying?  I don't want it to end up as a saucepan of hot milk with a rubbery ball of fat free cheese in the middle...

ahh! the calories keep going up with these it seems.  I resisted them however, my teacher brought in wine so I had about 2 ounces of that and a few raspberries.

but my goodness, they looked good...she also brought in two-bite blondies!

When everyone else gets icecream, you can get a chocolate covered frozen banana.  A little trip, but not as bad as it could be, plus you are still eating a nice, healthy banana.  Also, there are a lot of fruit stands (and that is usually cheaper than a lot of the other snacks there anyway)

Keep in mind, even if you don't eat AS healthy as you want to, you will most likely be doing A LOT of walking.

so I weighed myself and I am down 3.3 pounds since starting this challenge (finally! it took me all of January just to lose 1 pound).  So about 2 pounds to go! I hope I can do it. (and yes, the .3 counts!)   :)

I started my weight loss about 10 months ago at 175 (or at least i think I was afraid to weigh myself right away)

I started this challenge at 153 and I now at 149.7.  My mini goal is 146, so this challenge will almost get me there.

I'm afraid to weigh myself!  But I might tomorrow morning.  I have not been able to get to the gym as much as I had blamed, but I have been doing pretty good on my cals so we shall see!

I had my first ever vitatop today...deep chocolate..mmm...SOOO GOOD!

although I have been meaning to try the black beans/brownie recipe...but I have to find a time to make it when my BF is not around cuz if he sees what i am doing, I suspect he might not want to eat it!

my plans for hitting the gym extra hard have been failing because I have just started grad school full time and have already allowed myself to fall behind on some homework! so I have been too busy playing catch up with all my free time outside of work. But hopefully I can lose SOMETHING by V-day....at least a pound...or 2!??! something??

I ended up getting the tuna encrusted salad, it was rare tuna that was coated in sesame seeds.  I got the dressing on the side (which was good cuz I did not even like the dressing that it came with that much) and asked them not to add the "crispy wontons" but they did anyway so I just avoided them best I could.  The rest of the salad was mainly just lettuce and mushrooms.

My friends ordered a spinach and artichoke dip for the table, so I did indulge in a bit of that (came with toasted pita chips).  So all in all, not too bad...

sadly though...I went to a party after (not SO sad I guess), but I ended up drinking a lot more calories than I would have liked so good thing I saved at dinner I guess?

wow!  i took your advice and just took a picture of myself in my undies (for my eyes only!).  I am already about 25 pounds into my weight loss but I still want to lose 30 more.  ....had to have a bit of a cry after looking at the picture for too long, but I am sure I will be happy to have it once I reach my goal.

I am terrible on weekends too!  But if it makes you feel better, even with not being good on weekends I have been able to lose 25 pounds...although I am sure if I had been better on weekends that number could be way higher!  But I wasn't, and am still not, willing to make such a drastic lifestyle change! I like to have fun with friends on the weekends without having to worry about not eating this and not eating that and drinking this much water and so forth.  After awhile though, even with overeating on weekends, you start to eventually make better choices and be a little more in control after a few months without even really noticing it.  For instance, hitting the diner with friends on a friday night used to always mean a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a coke....now I get just a regular cheeseburger and no fries...maybe just steal 1 or 2 from a friend and drink unsweetened icetea or water with lemon.  Still not great but better than what I used to do!
