Yes yes and yes! I lost over 40 pounds and got lazy... gained it all back. Right before I hate my first all time high I decided to get serious. I've followed to EXACT same plan I did before. The first time the weight FLEW off me... this time? No matter what I GAIN! And it's not muscle, I'm not working out. I have no idea what's up. I literally almost chucked my scale out the window.
Then it was time to go to work. I took a shower, looked in the mirror and was just completely grossed out. You know what I did? I came here. I read through journals and forums and realized... it's okay. Nobody is ever 100% happy with their body. You know how I treat it now? Like any other bad hair day... we have bad hair days, bad makeup days, why not a bad body day? As long as you remember that you are living more healthy and taking care of yourself, tomorrow will come around and that "bad day" will be gone. Just wait for your next good hair day when you're feeling hot... put on a cute outfit... walk past the mirror. I bet you smile. You don't have to go show it off in public, it's for you! See if you feel better.
As for me, I'm going to stick with it. Luckily I can work from home because I am feeling not at all attractive today.
Good luck!! You've done great so far and you look terrific! |

Well welcome to the club! You have a very inspirational story that a lot of people can relate to! My final goal is the same as yours, but I'm about 192 right now. My highest was 212, I got down to 168 and then gained 34 pounds, yes 34, in a year!!! I got back on the wagon at 202 and now I've lost my first 10 pounds. I was the same way! Lost a relationship, gained weight. New relationship, lost weight. I completely understand. But for your sake you seem very intelligent and willing to do things the right way and for the right reason. I recently got married a few months ago after MANY painful dangerous heartbreaks. And you know what? I do want to look good for me, but I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to look appealing for someone else. I never understand why it's not okay to not be attracted to someone because they are overweight? I mean, I think everything should be considered equally. But I never got offended when I knew someone wasn't into me because I was carrying 75 extra pounds. All that did was motivate me. Call me crazy, but I want to look HOT for my husband, too. BUT the most important thing is that I want to be healthy and feel good about myself! Good luck on your journey. You will meet many wonderful people here along the way! |

Well I pretty much do what everyone tells me not to do. Almost every day during the weak I have a lean cuisine. They all average about 330 calories, well the ones I eat do. I love all of the paninis, flatbreads and pizzas. Sometimes I do make something at home. One of my favorites is a tuna sandwich. I use 2 slices of multi-grain bread (120 cals) a serving of shredded 2% cheese (90 cals) an entire can of tuna (100 cals) with lettuce and onions. I toast the bread and then put most of the cheese and tuna on top- pop it in the microwave to melt the cheese. I always leave a little tuna in the can. When I'm done with my sammich I add the rest of the cheese to it and finish it up! It really fills me up. So that totals a little more than 300 calories as well. I enjoy a large dinner- I can't do small meals throughout the day. |

| Hah, it's so funny you posted this. Just last night, when were were laying in bed, I thought... I wonder what it feels like for him to spoon with me when I'm bigger than him? We're the EXACT same height... even the same shoe size. But I weigh about 35 pounds more than him. And trust me it shows. He's 5'6" and about 140 MAYBE and I'm 5'6" and 172 right now. I was about 20 pounds heavier when we met, though. He's very supportive, but I know people make comments and snicker. I just want to feel a little more comfortable. I think I'll be happy at 140, too. Then we can share everything. HAHAHAHAHA. | |||
| Weight Loss | What does the Trend number mean in the Weight Log? | Jan 31 2008 15:31 (UTC) |
1 |
| Val-
Weight loss has peaks and valleys. The trend basically shows the "average". For example... if I was at 174 one day, 170 the next, and then 172, it will sortof average out where you are. You can take a look at my graph, because I have some ups and downs on there. |

| Oh, this is one of the hardest times- I'm with ya! I'm going to tell you not to do it, but I know it's not that easy. Think how good you will feel afterwards... because they you can look at your husband and say... you know what... you may be acting like a jerk right now, but at least you didn't make me screw up my diet today. That should make you proud!!! | |||
| Weight Loss | Breakfast!! | Jan 23 2008 21:25 (UTC) |

| oooooh, mine is simple and so delicious. I take 2 slices of nickle's light 35 calorie bread (70 cals total) toasted... add a slice of 2% american cheese... then use the egg beaters that have veggies in em!! Normally I double the serving of beaters because they are only 30 calories/per quarter cup. Sooo.... bread=70 cheese=50 egg beaters=60 TOTAL is 180 calories. Or else I will put it on a 100 calorie english muffin, which adds another 30 calories :-) | |||
| Weight Loss | Calories in alcohol! | Jan 23 2008 20:08 (UTC) |

| Kettle One Vodka has 64 calories a shot- mix that up with some Crystal Light pomegranate juice, or even lemonade, and it's DELICIOUS! Mix and match those drinks, they are all pretty good!
Also, Miller Lite is only 96 calories- not too shabby. :-) |

| Weight Loss | Weightloss & Clothing size? | Jan 23 2008 19:56 (UTC) |

| Wow, I must be weird proportioned. I'm almost 5'6", weight 170 and wear a 14, almost a little tight. Whenever I tell people how much I weigh they are surprised- they think I am smaller. I always thought that meant I was well proportioned. But once I started losing weight I started to second guess that. When I weighed 212 I wore 18's and 20's.
Hmmm.... I did buy a size 13 dress pant, but I MUST wear a long shirt to cover the pouch and muffin top :-) |

| I'm sorta close- I'm 25, 5'6" and 169.8 pounds. I can't wait to see 156 :-) I'm shooting for 140, and maybe 130. I want to see how I look at 140 first.
I'm adding you as a friend- hopefully we can all keep each other motivated!!! Good luck :-) |

| Weight Loss | Scales.... flippin' scales... HELP! | Jan 18 2008 19:37 (UTC) |
1 |
| I was torn between old fashioned and designer. I went with the official weight watchers scale. And someone who just got weighed by their doctor last night stepped on and it read exactly the same. It also saves your weight- and tells you how close you are to your goal! :-) I am still a little nervous, because I've had a few different weights on it. I even think it may be the floor in our office, too. Tonight I'm going to take it home and put it on the concrete garage floor. That should keep it accurate :-)
TYGRKAT: Oh, I understand the feeling! I take off as much as possible at work before I weigh myself. This weekend I'm doing it NEKKED, hahaha. JEN: I've done that before!! I found one way of arching my feet that seems to take a few pounds off, teehee!!! |
|||
| Weight Loss | Scales.... flippin' scales... HELP! | Jan 18 2008 14:40 (UTC) |

| Thank you so much! I know I shouldn't weigh myself every day- that's ridiculous. I can't stop though :-) Plus the weekend is coming up and I wanted to see where I stood... guess I know now! I think I'm going back to the old fashioned one... because I NEVER remember to change batteries!!! And it could be some water weight, very good point. TOM has been here for 4 days now- maybe I'm just holding on late!!!
I also exercised more than I normally do. Usually I burn 300-350 calories in 30 minutes. Yesterday I did 500 in 40- but I also ate 1332 calories. Ahhhh... this diet stuff, hahaha. But I'm not falling off the wagon because feel pretty good physically- my mental state is just a little frazzled right now :-) |

| Jasmine: I'm so glad there are others out there like me! :-) I mean, I wish none of us were like this- but safety in numbers! You already seem to be well on your way. Let me know how the cleanse works. What exactly are you doing? I've heard that those are wonderful for your body, and that everyone should do it every so often! Keep going!!!
July: Wow we are pretty close :-) I just hit 171 today- but I'm worried because they scale I'm using says one thing one time, and if you move it, it will say something completely different. Once I get 3 of the same numbers in a row, I stop!!! Time for a new scale, 'eh? I'm adding you to my friends now- and a 10 pound loss is great. Just remember, it's 10 less than you have to lose this year. When do you have your goal weight date set as? |

| All the time!! Especially last night. I was going to be good and just eat some spaghetti and sauce- but then Brian showed up with the ground meat! Yes, it was 96% lean but STILL! I inhaled my food and felt like crap until I got my lazy butt on the elliptical. Today I'm feeling better, but I can tell I'm retaining water. The best part- in a few days I'll just magically drop a few pounds!!! | |||

| 2months2go: Thank you much! Seeing the amount I've lost in a number really helps to keep me motivated! I'm in 2 days now and I've already noticed a change. Plus I'm working out again and that makes me feel great!
Carolejuul: That's exactly what I thought when I jumped on the wagon again. Plus I'm halfway there, so why stop now! All I have to do is get my boyfriend to stop eating yummy things at night! He's such a good cook... Jamie: Thanks for the motivation- and the compliment! Same right back at ya!!!! :-) |

| Wow guys, I freaking love this forum, but let me tell you one thing. It's 12:41 and I'm sitting in my office and all I want is a Kettle One dirty martini now- thanks! Totally kidding, sorta :-)
Anywho, I think I share the same experiences as everyone else here. I'm super nervous becaues I'm about to move back to the big city, where all of my old college buddies are, to finish my degree. OH BOY! The good news is that my boyfriend and I are NOT living near campus. But that's why they made cars, right? Great! Teehee. Also- a favorite drink of mine, good with gin or vodka. I use Kettle One and the off brand Crystal Lite pomegranite juice. It's WONDERFUL. But beware... drink this in your crappy pj's, on a crappy couch, because if you spill it anywhere, it stains. It's super strong, so you can even dilute it in half :-) ~Amanda |

| First of all- you look wonderful!! I only hope I can look that good in a few years! :-) That outfit is going to look GREAT!! Let me know- I want to party in Vegas, hahahaha!
I just want to look great in shorts and a tank top. So I'm buying a pair of those short khaki ones that I *LOVE* and a cutie cute wife beater/halter top type thing. I do a lot of camping with my boyfriend and I just want to be able to wear less clothing when we're floating down the river in our kayak!! They are going to hang in my bedroom until they fit!!! |

It works if you work it, so work it you're worth it! (I'm totally stealing this!!!) Ammie- Thanks to you, as well! I think you're very right- if you get involved you look forward to discussing your own and everyone elses experiences. I'll be around on the boards a lot more this time :-) And about the gym- the only reason I have an excuse for not going is because I have an elliptical. That I never use :-) |
