If someone is convicted without a doubt--I firmly believe in the death penalty. Why keep scum around? What good will they do sitting in jail for the rest of their lives? It is our duty--that is why we have court systems and rules to follow. Yes I know not every case is cut and dry but for the ones that are--death penalty. Common sense people. I'm sure you all could relate if it was your child or mother or father your husband/wife killed and raped and God knows what else--but then again some people can forgive and I say good for you if you can but I know that I'd personally watch him/her die if it was a family member with no feelings at all. |

I've got it too! I also developed pneumonia while having H1N1 so I'm really sick. Life goes on though. My daughter had to have surgery today and I went with a mask on. The Dr.'s all knew about it in advance. I've had a fever for 6 days and right now death would be welcomed. lol!!! I've never been so sick in my life. Still no vaccine in my neck of the woods---do I even need it now?? I'm worried about my hubby and kids but so far so good. |

It happened to me too! I lost one at 24 weeks in June of '04 and my son was born Feb '05---yes you are correct--8 months later!!!! I got pregnant right away without even knowing until late Aug. I thought I just wasn't "regular" because of the D & C! (Thank God I did not have to deliver--the baby was too small and they thought they could do a D & C!) I worried every day, every hour and every minute until the day I delivered!! I don't know what to tell you. I delivered him early, as you can count and thank god for that! I really did not know what I was going to do. Constant calls to the OB--and I'm a nurse so that's really bad!! When I got to 24 weeks I kind of backed off a little bit but it was still there! Just think positive--really, unless there was something major that caused the miscarriage it's really rare that it would happened again (unless, like I said there are other causes--i don't know your history). For me, there was no explanation what so ever why I did not carry to term OR that the baby was so small for that age when everything was fine prior to that. I had a miscarriage prior to my first also in '01 but I was only 6 weeks at that time and once again, 1 month later got preg. with my daughter--who was also early!! I stopped at 2 because chances are my third would not have gone much longer then 7 months--so the OB said!! And there wasn't any explanation to that either!!! Just try to relax and know that you're going to worry anyway. Enjoy your pregnancy and soon you'll see your little one!! (However far along you are!!) good luck to you!!! |

Obviously we know that they are full figured women. And yeah, the poor me I'll never find a man being overweight. Well people there are many overweight men/women who find true love--get over it!! |

[Now, why don't you and all the other delusional superfans come on back down here to reality. People are dying every day ... all around the world, due to unnecessary wars, in fights for rights, of extreme povery. A CHILD DIES EVERY 3 SECONDS from lack of clean water to drink. I wish there was an outcry for THOSE people like there are for celebrities.]
Tattooed-Kitty--You are right people are dying every second of every day BUT TODAY Michael Jackson died and this post is regarding HIM And if I remember correctly, he helped raise lot's of money to help the children, now it's his time. Show some respect! I personally cannot even grasp the idea that he is gone yet. I've been talking about it nonstop since I've heard. Even my husband who doesn't really like MJ as a person, still he's is shock too! I don't care what has happened in the past, the point is that the man passed away today. I have been a fan since I can remember and I'm only 32--even my 7 year old daughter loves his music!!! We had a summer festival in our state today called the Big Bang (Huge firework display) about an hour away from us for Summerfest that I let my daughter stay up and watch on tv and she said, "Maybe Michael Jackson is watching this from heaven with God" Out of the mouth of children!!! I hope indeed he was watching and what a display for remarkable man!!! RIP! |

Sorry for your loss. I miscarried at 21 weeks and it's the hardest thing I've gone through BUT I remind myself that if that did not happen, I would not have my son now as we only wanted 2 children! I was sad, depressed, gained weight AND had to explain to a 2 year old why she wasn't going to have a sibling since she saw mommy's belly get big!! I decided to have a D & C instead of delivery (I would have had to after 22 weeks so I was thankful that I didn't have to) and I bled for about 3 weeks and low and behold got pregnant with my son!! We were going to wait about a year(for my mind's sake) but about 3 months after the D & C when I hadn't gotten my period yet, I called to make sure that it was normal, from the D & C and they suggested a pregnacy test and I was SOOO positive!!! 2 1/2 months pregnant!! (So besides the 2 weeks without child, I was pregnant for alomst 12 months!!! Talk about weight gain!!(He was almost 2 months early and for that I thank him!!!!) The only thing I regret about the D & C procedure is that I never found out the sex of my baby. I was too upset and emotional at the time and when the Dr. asked I said No Way!!! Now I would have like to known. Everyone that's had a miscarriage does get through it. It's rough. It sucks. There's usually no explanations (especially early on and even in my case being so far along) and usually we can go on to have successful pregnancy's after. Take it easy, relax and when you least expect it, it will happen. Good luck to you!

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Blood sugar levels high..what EXACTLY does that mean!! | Apr 09 2009 04:40 (UTC) |

There's no way to have "mild" GD just like there's no way to be borderline diabetic (for non-preg people) That is a myth! You either are or you aren't. If you have not taken the 3 hour GTT Test you are not clinically GD. All questionable high glucose tests require the 3 hour GTT before diagnosis. Even after the 3 hr GTT you may be diagnosed and be lucky enough to just watch your carb intake or you may have to go on insulin. I was the unlucky one and now because of that I have a 50-60% chance of developing Adult Onset (Type 2) later in my life! I was on large amounts of insulin and really never got it under control until I delivered and just like that, after my son was born, my sugars were completely normal! We all crave unhealthy things when we are preg. Just because you crave and eat sweets--that does not mean you will have GD. Just think of all the people out there who eat a lot of sweets and all the teenagers--if that were the case they'd be millions of people with diabetes. it's just how our livers process the glucose--or not process it actually! Good Luck to you and I would seriously ask for the 3 hr GTT--if left undiagnosed and untreated you're looking at a large baby! |

I am a LPN--I haven't worked for 7 years since I had my first child. I really loved it in the beginning but it seems like lately (or 7 years ago!) it's a lot of paperwork stuff instead of the hands on. I also worked at a clinic for most of my 10 years and there's a huge difference. There were RN's, LPN's and Medical Assitants--who basically did the same thing. The only difference was that if someone needed an IV then the RN or myself (I was trained to insert, just not adminster meds) would do it. Otherwise it's a lot of patient teaching and paperwork! I was considering going back in about 5-7 years when my youngest would be 9-11 years old, just part time but I think I will go back to the hospital. I cannot work in a Nursing Home or an Assited Living facility because I get too attached to the residents! I did some of my clinicals in a Nursing Home for school and it's just so sad! Just my opinion. I went to a technical college for my education--they have LPN or Associate Degree RN programs with the option to transfer out to a 4-year college to get your BA. Right now I'm using my nursing education to work at home doing medical transcription and I love it! I have to basically work at night when the kids are in bed and hubby at work but I'll be able to do some during the day when my little one is in 4K next year. Hope it helps! Nursing, while in a hospital setting, to me is the best--hands on patient care, that's why I became a nurse and now it's hard to find that hands on care! Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do! |

I say if you're not legal there should be no extra help. There's plenty of poor legal children in the states who have no healthcare or food but we're always trying to help others--try helping us first. I believe there are still people living in trailers because of Rita--yet money is going overseas to feed others and offer medical services for other countries--and why is that?? Yes no child should die but go back to your country for your own medical doctors--they are usually schooled here for free anyway. I love when other countries bring in sick kids for cancer treatment--that is paid for by the hospitals yet other legal families are literally going broke trying to save their child, with or without insurance and get no help from their own country. Sounds harsh but that's why each country has citzenships. Belong to one and get your paycheck and insurance, or goverment insurance there. I'm a nurse and I worked in a hospital for 10 years and have seen how families are financially drained, lost everything even with insurance, trying to save their sick kids--and they've worked for it and paid our government and yet they get no help. What a shame--What a shame for our country! |

Okay so much for posting every day but I've been busy!! I still have my headache and I bummed one smoke from my neighbor to see if that helped my headache and it didn't so I've been good since! It actually tasted nasty!! I really feel like my head is going to explode but I'll give it a week and if it's not any better then I'm going to see my doctor (which will suck because I've never told her I smoked!) We'll wait it out for now! Hope you all are doing good!!

I'm 24 hours into being a non-smoker and I'm ready to scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No seriously--I'm doing okay! I've chewed about 4 packs of gum though and my god, my jaws hurt like crazy! Small price to pay for not smoking! The only complaint I have is that I have a headache like you wouldn't believe!! I'm assuming that's one of the withdrawl symptons?? We'll have to wait and see!! I hope there are others out there that are doing this too!! Good luck everyone and I'm going to try to post daily to keep this thread alive!!!! Melissa |

I am with you!! I have been smoking since I was 18 and I will be 33 on Monday 2-23---So 2-22 is my quit day!! I have been off and on through the years but mostly on!! I quit when I was pregnant with both my children and as soon as I got out of the hospital I started again!! I've lost around 95 pounds in the last two years and I've got about 30 more to go and I will do it and I will NOT be a smoker anymore! The main reason obviously is health but the cost is unreal!! In Wisconsin I pay $4.35 for a pack and they are going to go up another $0.75 soon! That's $153 a month for my stupid pack a day habit!!! AARGHH!!! I also am a closet smoker--only my young children and husband and one neighbor know so it's terrible!! My own parents think I quit when I was 21 and none of my friends know or anybody at my oldest child's school! I have to sneak around when we go out--usually to the bathroom alone so I can get my fix!! It's embarassing actually! I hate having to try to hide the smell all the time! So this is it!!! I am done with smokes forever! I actually have about a pack and a half left--so when they're gone I am done!!! I will enjoy my birthday smoke-free and get on with my life!!!! AMEN---Good Luck to All and Keep Posting!!!! Melissa |

This is a little off topic but how many of you moms gave up your careers when you had a baby? My husband and I want to start "trying" for our first child I will be 30 next year which I feel is getting a bit old especially if you want 2 or 3 children.. but what happens after? Right now we live comfortably. I have a good job and a good education and he is just starting out with his career.. I am tired though of my chosen field, I would love to start staying home and really raising our family.. but his career can't support us financially - the only option I can think of is having him stay home but that sucks for both of us.
Yes!!!! I am/was a nurse and I worked up until the day I had my daughter almost 7 years ago--literally, through contractions and everything--and I never looked back! I've been home with her and now my almost 4 year old son. It's a touchy topic so I"ll save you my imput on why I think it's good but you will find a way to support your family! No, we don't go to Disney World every year and family vacations are more like family "outings" BUT I and my husband and my kids do not regret it at all!! I just recently starting to do some part time work from home (Medical Transcription) just because of the economy and what not but otherwise we made it just fine. Sometimes my daughter says, "Why does (whoever's) mom work?" And I always tell her that everyone is different and they do what's right for them. And that's what you got to do. I come from a long line of stay at home moms and my husband also, so it was really a normal thing for me to do! Will I go back to work outside the home?? Maybe, once they are in High School or beyond!!! Good Luck to you in whatever you do and don't let other people make that decision fo r you!! |

Hang in there--another 8 inches expected tomorrow with the warning!! Merry Christmas! |

My neighbor does this and I personally think it's not right. (My opinion so don't go off on me!!) She does it strictly for the money aspect as she has two kids and is lazy and does not work! I think if you know someone who needs them then it might be alright but just to sell them to the highest bidder??? I don't know if I want to see some child one time that looks like me and wonder if it's from me!! Just my opinion. Anyway-- When she does do it, it's like 8 weeks of hormone shots to produce a larger quanity of eggs and then after that they are harvested. She gets REALLY moody--it's like major PMS time 1,000!! She is on a National site so she's been flown to New York, Canada and others (we're from Wisconsin).(All expenses paid of course!) I believe she said in order to do it (at least for her company) you have to be married or in a long term relationship, already have your children, under age 28 and a healthy BMI. There is a lengthy physical and psychological exam before even getting the go ahead. I do not believe there are not any complications afterwards as far as other children but I do not know why they want you to have children first?? If you are considering doing this just please do your homework first. There are/should be referrals--you should be able to call other women who have done this and ask any questions. If they have none--run!! Good luck in whatever you decide! |

Yes I think he's odd BUT I do like him!! He seems like a sweet man who adores his dogs! (I'm a dog lover!!) I used his Sweatin to the Oldies when I first started out (about 2 years ago)--I lost my first 35 pounds ( out of 90!)with him!! I still occasionally do his videos just for fun--I love the music and my children ages 4 and 7 love the music too!! I say if he works for you--why not? I make almost everything homemade and I cook our own meals for the whole week and $150 a week wouldn't cut it. The meat alone is probably half of the that. I do what works for me Wal-Mart or not. I DECIDE not everyone else because if that's the case then maybe there wouldn't be a Wal-Mart right? I would love to only spend 100 or 150 a week but that's just not possible with even the "staples" of food. I stay at home with my children with my husbands "average" income and I prefer to shop at Wal-Mart to get better deals on food. I never said anyone had to like it, unless of course, you would like to pay my other bills for me then I'll gladly shop at high end grocery stores! (Which by the way, there are none here where I live!) |

| To each their own I say! If you don't want to go to Wal-Mart--don't. Plain and simple. I, myself do go there on a regular basis and you're right, the produce isn't always the best, but either is my other option here in town. I refuse to travel 100 miles for a Trader Joes ( and the one time I did I was extremely disappointed!) just for a few "special" items.
I'm feeding a family of 4 and a large dog and I believe $200 a week for groceries is more then enough. If I were to shop at these speciality stores, I'd only get enough for maybe two days off of that money?? Yes I know about all the news lately about Wal-Mart but like there's not other companies that treat their employees like crap? Like I said, if you don't want to shop there don't, they make enough money from everybody else!!! |

| Medical and general transcription--I've been doing it since Feb. of this year and I love it! You'll need training for the medical but not for the general. If you're a quick typist--go for it! I make decent money and can work when my kids are in bed! For me it's a great second income for us, no work clothes, no gas money and NO BABYSITTER!!!!! You'll make around $12-18 an hour even though technically it's per line typed but you just do the math and average it out! Good luck to you! | |||

| Well I started by doing a "at home course"--ligit one that's recommended by the www.medicaltranscription.org site and i'm also a nurse as my first job, although, I haven't worked as one for roughly 6 years, so that helped a lot. People assume that it is easy--it is not always!! You really have to know anatomy and correct english and spelling--all the med terms, drugs, etc. Then because 99.9% of employers want a person with at least 2 years of experience, most people are screwed! Unless, of course you want to work onsite somewhere! I don't have the choice--my husband works crazy hours and I will not do daycare so I work on the turn arounds---meaning my employer knows that 99% of my work is done 3 rd shift, so I get audios that are due the next day. Sometimes I do get the STATS if they are small durning the day but now with summer and a 6 and 3 year old at home, I rather give up my sleep and not have to do the day hours!
I finished the course 1 day before Christmas and by Feb 14 I landed my current job. I put out about 25 resumes and only was allowed to test for about 3--including my current employer. It's time consuming looking for a job but there are some really high paying positions out there if you have the experience! That's the downfall for wanting to work from home---experience, experience, experience!!! I'm planning to stay with this company for my 2 years and then depending on my pay, move on. It's weird, I get paid per word. Some get paid per line and others per hour---it just depends on the company. Some you are employees and some you are independant contractors. I am independant, meaning I can work for a competitor if I want to but i just don't get benefits which I don't need!! Hope that helps!! |

| Have you every tried transcription? Either medical (if you have the background) or just general? I have been a stay at home mom for 6 years and it was time to bring some income in as the kids get older and more expensive!--I was/am a nurse, and I took an inexpensive course on transcription online and I have been working at home since Feb. It is great!!! I work at night when my kids sleep--and I can take how many hours of work I want daily or none at all! It has been a lifesaver--we use this as our extra fun money and bills when needed!! Many of the "big" companies do require experience but just keep applying--I alpplied for about 20 jobs before I landed this one--it is general and some medical! I get paid per word, so obviously the faster you go the more you make but there are days I avearage anywhere from $15 to $20 an hour! Can't beat that sitting in my pj's!!! I also make at least no less then $9 on the hard ones! It is totally worth it! I would never put my kids in daycare (just my opinion--don't kill me) and I couldn't see spending that much money to do so. It's around !$150 per child a week here but that's just unreal!!! This way i am home all day and the only thing I lose out on is some sleep! My husband works third shift so I thought, why not?? I can live with that!!
