Sorry hon, about what you are doing to yourself.  You have come to the right place for comfort, encouragement, and motivation!!

Yes you can do it.  One moment at a time.  One hour at a time.  One day.....that becomes two days........

Try to identify what triggers your eating...then stay away from that trigger.

When you start to feel the compulsion to eat, get away from the temptation.  Get online to this site, go get in the car and drive around the block, get in the shower, MAKE yourself sit in a chair a read a book.  I find I often have to completely physically remove myself.  After some time passes (and I can tell when the binge craving is gone for the moment), then I can come back.

Something really really really stupid I do that helps me is this.  I write the word NO in big bold letters in the palm of my left hand.  If I am headed to the fridge or the cupboard, I look in my hand, see the word, and mentally tell myself NO!

Also I have been told that not eating enough calories will trigger a binge.  It sounds like you have been starving yourself for a period of time.  Eat at least 1200 calories a day.  I have found 1500 calories satisfies most of my cravings.

I am going to add you as a friend.  Let me know how you are doing.  I am on day 3 binge free.

Hello fellow over 50's.  I will be 53 on Saturday.  Where did time go, I feel like I should still be 25.  But looking in the mirror and seeing the middle go out intead of in, and the crinkles in skin that used to be smooth, I guess I reallly am that old.

I've been on cc since January 6 and have lost 17 pounds since January 2.  Really needing the motivation and encouragement that can only come from others going through the same thing.

Really having a hard time getting into exercise.  Any suggestions?

Sorry hon, Just pick yourself up, dust off the cobwebs, and start again today with a new fresh start.  Every day is a new opportunity to do it right.
You can do it.  You are worth it!!

I am 9 days binge free and sometimes I have to take it second by second.  But the seconds add up and soon you have made it a minute.  And then the minutes add up.  And then the hours.

Let me know how you are doing.  I am adding you as a friend.

I had a good evening with family celebrating a birthday at red lobster and then braums for ice cream.

I had a horrible evening eating what i should have and eating way too much of the things I shouldn't have.

I went with a mind set of what I wanted....salad, grilled fish or salman, steamed vegetables, maybe one cheesy biscuit.

when we got there, my two daughter in laws ordered a fancy drink, and I thought one might not hurt....and there it started.  I ended up with two raspberry daquiries, two biscuits, salad, salman with pasta in creamy garlic sauce (the waiter suggested it is wonderful...and it was), and then on to braums for ice cream.  They had a special two dips for the price of one.  Why oh why did I get two?!!!?

Summation, I ate over 4000 calories yesterday and put myself back several days.

AAARRRGGHH.  Sniff, pick myself back up and get going again.

I am so happy to see this link.  I have been with cc for 12 days and have lost weight over and over again through the years only to gain it back.  I took an online continuing education course  this weekend on obesity and eating disorders.

When it listed the points for binge eating disorder, I hit all of them.  It was a relief, sort of, to know that others have what I have and do what I do.  But it is also sad that there are apparently many others who eat like I do....waaayy too much, especially when no one else is around and cannot see.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a sound?  If a person eats 3 bags of chips and a sack of oreos and 6 pieces of toast with peanut butter on it and no one sees it or the evidence, do the calories count?

Motivation This Week I..... Jan 17 2007

Good going, Paula.  I have been eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with a small snack in between, so the several meals a day have been working out well.
For my snacks, I have been eating fresh fruit when I used to eat bad stuff full of sugar or fat.  And you know what??? (and this is my positive achievement this week) I have found the pink lady apples and the florida navel oranges and the ruby red strawberries to be tastier than the stuff I used to eat.  What an awesome realization.

Welcome.  I have been here 10 days and have enjoyed tooling around the site.  It is fun to join in on things, post my weight every day, post my food choices and see how nutritious they reallly are, and to give and receive support from everyone here.

Good luck.

Hi, I am in southeast Kansas and I am in the midst of the same yucky storm as Oklahoma.  I had to chisel 1 inch of ice off my windshield to get home from work.  And its suppposed to last for 3 more days?????

My exercise of choice is the treadmill in front of my tv.  I try to exercise with Dr Phill when I return from work.  My goal is at least 30 minutes 5 times a week.  (for now)

Hi.  I just joined on the 6th of January and I have about 70 pounds to go.  I am very motivated at this point, but 70 pounds is going to take lots and lots of motivation and lots of time.  I hope to reach my goal by the end of the year.  Good luck to you.
