Good Morning!

I am at 171.5. A half pound gain. It has been two weeks since I weighed myself as I was not home last weekend. I guess it is okay but I really want to lose and will try focusing harder this week.

Hello Everybody!

I am up a 1/2 pound. I am not surprised. It's my TOM and I have been eating crazy. I thought I did enough indoor cycling to counteract my eating but I guess not. I also didn't log this week. I guess I really need to do that plus I need to be posting to take advantage of all the good support.

Last week: 170.5

This week: 171

What helps me is I leave the scale in the bathroom and weigh myself 3 times back to back. I use the weight that comes up  2 out of 3 times. Sometimes I will get the same weight 3 times but I have a cheap scale too so if it doesn't I will try for 2 out of 3 then 3 out of 5. Usually I only have to weigh myself 3 times though.

Great Job Everyone. I also don't understand it and am still trying to figure out how my body works. On a good note this week. I lost 1.5 lbs. I am now 170.5. I really thought the scale was going to show no loss or gain. I am so happy. I hope next week I will see the 160's.

Thank you for sharing. You expressed yourself well. Although I haven't had a weight loss like yours I can relate to the mind battle. After calling your doc, also call a counselor. I have seen one and it does make a difference. I wish you the best.

I had a better day today. 1834 cal but exercised and burned 287 cal so that brings me to 1547. Only a 100 over my goal.

Ohhhhh I am so disappointed at myself. I knew I was doing fine on my calories today until I went to Baskin Robbins. My 9 year old daughter coaxed me into it. How do you stay strong? I had an oreo cookie Sundae. It was 1330 calories. I just looked it up as I am entering my calories. WARNING: DO NOT GO TO BASKIN ROBBINS!! That completely ruined everything. I exercised off 276 calories but that is such a little dent. I am really going to have to work hard the rest of the week and hope I can do it as I am already scared about Saturday weigh in.

Okay. This week I completely fell off track and gained a pound. I knew this is what was happening which is why I didn't log on. Probably should of logged on anyways.

I will work harder this week. I really want to get under the 170lb mark and it shouldn't be that hard!

okay. I wasn't sure what to expect because in the middle of the week I was up a pound. Today, I am at 171 which is a .5 pound loss from last Sat. Shewww! I don't understand it, but I am glad. Hopefully this week I wll be a little stricter on my self because this is slow.

xqueen - It sounds like you've got a lot going on. That always makes it harder to be successful so don't be hard on yourself. I had to make some lifestyle changes in order to make this a priority and I am glad I did.

Wow. that is great to know. Thanks. My stats vary for each day so I will have keep this in mind in my foood choices. I know its not good to go over on the  Cholesterol or Sodium. Do you know about the vitamins though? Is it ok to go over with calcium, Vit A, Vit C, and Iron?

letsgetitstarted - I read the posting about the 1200 cal too. I went to the websites looked at the formulas and everything. My conclusion was that 1200 may be okay for some people but not for me. I don't want my body to get adjusted to 1200 then have it expect only that the rest of my life cause I like to eat. My goal is 1450 and I lost 2 lbs this week so that is what works for me. I expect my maintenance level to be 1800 but if I got my body accustomed to 1200 my maintenance level would be less and I don't want that but this in my own theory. I also couldn't do 1200 I would find myself bingeing at some point, then giving up. I think every one is different and if you take it week by week you can see what works for you. Hope this helps.

Snowfence - I think I noticed you talking about your sodium levels. Do you know what he right amount of sodium is a day? What about the rest of the stuff Vit. A, C, Iron, fat, carb, protein, etc?

Your menu looks good yet I am not an expert. Are you logging your food and meeting your cal intake goal? Is your time of month coming? Have you had a lot of salt? 1lb could be anything. Look at the big picture. Hope this helps.

Great job on the walking!!! I can bike pretty far in the summer but I can't stand the cold. How do you keep track of your sodium intake?

 Does anyone know the difference between the two lines on the weight graph?

well, it's midweek & it looks pretty bad for me so far. i had pizza monday & chicken wings yesterday. i went way over in calories both days too!!! especially yesterday :(

i'm gonna add up the damage & maybe do some calorie adjusting to finish off the week so hopefully i won't have to log in a gain for the week... and do more walking!!! i didn't walk at all yesterday either & it was just a TOTAL binge day. :(

don't feel bad snowfence. I went off the wagon yesterday and the day before. That's why I haven't posted for the last couple days. I am looking at it like this. If I stayed on my cal intake for 5 days and messed up two. It's better then messing up sal even and I am still hoping to see a loss tomorrow.

I learned something pretty funny about pandas on the Discovery Channel.  They are always high!  They get buzzed off of the eucalyptus XD  If they don't feed the pandas just the type they're craving, they get very ornery and vicious!  Isn't that hilarious!?

That's so funny! I didn't know that. I recently saw a panda show too so that's where I got the idea. I thought what better picture. It's catchy and who doesn't like panda's? There sooo cute.

issues/baggage: I use food as security/comfort. If I am stressed, happy, sad, whatever I will eat.

goals: to allow myself to feel not eat if you know what I mean, lose weight, and Talkdoc I love the sound of size 8 jeans; it's been years and I am still hanging on to them.

I get the same way. What helps me is to exercise. Not that I always want to do it, but I know for a fact in gets rid off and/or lessens those feelings.

Today the scale is back down to 145, although that's still not a loss from last week. This week has actually been up and down 145, 146, 145, 146  etc everyday."

Jaki, this is what happens to me and is why I wasn't losing weight. I was exercising then contradicting myself with junk. A viscious cycle. Remember it's a life change you are trying to make. Good luck.

Hello All,

I started cc on the 2nd and had lost 2.5lbs over the week. Last night knowing I was going to start this I ate more than I should of and the scale showed a gain of a half a pound. That stinks.

I am a short person 5'1' and and today's weight is 173.5. CC says my calorie intake to lose 45lbs by June is 1450. I here you guys mentioning numbers under that. Should I be eating less. I am disappointed that I have only lost 2lbs in 10 days and really had worked at it. Occassionally I will eat in the 1600's but then exercise on the indoor bicycle for 30 minutes which says I burn 280 calories so it brings me back to my daily goal. Should I decrease my calories to lose more? At what point would I put my body in starvation mode because I don't want to do that?

Any suggestions. Thx

I worry about this too. What is my calorie intake for optimal weight loss? For me I believe 2200 is what I was eating that keeps me at 175lbs. 1450 is what my goal is for weight loss and 1800 is what my normal intake is suppose to be for when I am my goal weight. I'm 5'1'"

I have problems sleeping at night when I haven't eaten enough. Maybe you need to increase your calorie intake and lose at a slower pace? Just be sure to increase it with healthy foods.
