Recipes QUICK breakfast ideas! Mar 19 2009

I eat oatmeal every day these days (I make it at work).  1/3 cup + 2/3 cup water + some frozen berries or banana.  Microwave on high 3 minutes at 50% power.

Before I got on my oatmeal kick, I ate an apple every day for breakfast.  Rinse & go - you can't get much easier than that!

I'm back!  I can't believe I found this thread again!

I had a healthy baby girl in May.  Gained about 25lbs with the pregnancy.  Lost all the pregnancy weight within 9 days (yeah, kinda scary) but then put a few back on.  I'm just FATTER at this weight than I was before the babe.  Have been back on calorie count for about a week and a half and sit now at 178.  I hope to be in the 160s club at some point, and then the 150s!

I'm back, after a long absence from these boards.  I went from 190 down to 176 last year, but then I got pregnant!  So, I went up to 201.  I actually lost all the weight in a matter of 2 weeks, but have since gained a few lbs.  So, here I am again.  I weigh 179 today, my goal is 150.  Despite weighing the same as I did before, I am definitely fatter/bigger than I was in the belly area.  I hope I can find the motivation to actually keep losing!

500 seems like a lot - do you mean on top of your dieting calories or maintenance calories?

Sometimes bananas give me a weird kind of stomachache, especially if I eat them first thing in the morning.

Don't buy the bagged stuff.  I used to buy that and it would sometimes turn brown even before the expiration date.  Invest in a good salad spinner and wash your own, then keep in a tupperware.

Sorry I missed last week's weigh-in.  I was out of town all week and had no way of weighing myself.  I was really terrified to get on the scale when I got home.  For 8 days no weighing or calorie counting and eating out every meal.  So, I am extra-thrilled that my scale reads the same that it did before I left!

Yeah - you can definitely do this.  I make an easy one with campbells 98% fat free cream of chicken & cream of asparagus or celery, lots of veggies (steamed), poached chicken chunks, and reduced fat /calorie bisquick mix for the crust (there's a recipe I follow LOOSELY inside the box).  Or, if I'm feeling more ambitious, I make my own "cream sauce" for the veggies with skim milk & / or evaporated skim milk, which tastes creamier.

It's not "the same" as the buttery-crusted frozen kinds, but it's still good.

nzjdiva - don't give up.  I stayed at 176 for 4 weeks, but I FINALLY dropped a pound this week!  It's only one pound, but still - it gives me some motivation again!  I think it may be true that switching things up a bit can help.  I canoed this weekend.  Since canoeing is not really something I can keep up with at home, I'm not sure what I'll do to keep this going.  Maybe I'll break out the Dance Dance Revolution game again.  That helped me lose the 1st 5 or so pounds.

Just checking in.  Still no major movement for me.  It's funny though, I normally fluctuate daily, but I've weighed in 176 every day this week.  So, maybe that means I'll drop some in the next few days?  I can only hope

I used to have a recipe for hummus that called for actual olives instead of olive oil.  It was lower in calories and still tasted good.

My pedometer seems kind of selective about which steps it counts.  If I'm outside "really" walking, it seems to do OK, but when I'm inside just walking around the house, it seems to miss a lot of steps.  Maybe it's only counting when I take more than a certain # of steps in a row?

I've been wearing the pedometer for a few weeks now, and have been trying to walk a lot more.  Yesterday, I finally passed the 10,000 steps mark; in fact I clocked in at 12,357!

I'm hovering between 175 and 179.  I seem to always linger for a long time and then make a sudden jump.  Hopefully I'll be in the bottom half of 170s soon!

Thanks for all the ideas.  So far I'm finding that I only like them when there is some banana in there, though I hadn't thought about the coffe route - I do love coffee.  For the frozen bananas, do you all just buy them when they're ripe & freeze them?

Yeah, no loss for me this week.  I had a REALLY bad week as far as eating goes.  I'll do better this week.
