| I went to Eddie's bike shop in Fairlawn. LOVED the bike I tried. It was a goofy, old-lady comfort bike but I loved it!! Ok, well it was actually a hybrid cofort / mountain bike but still looked and felt way different! It wasn't priced badly either - $300. Yes, it was a shock to get Brady Quinn. Hopefully it's the boost the team needs. And hopefully he doesn't go joy-riding on a motorocycle right before the season! |

| Ok - Stacey & Vicki... obviously you are from Cleveland! I didn't look close enough at the profiles... but now I see. Vicki - I am in Brecksville so the towpath starts in our reservation and heads down to Peninsula. My bike is a piece of cr*p so I can't get far without aches & pains. I did 8 miles on the towpath a few weeks ago and paid for it later. My hubby says we'll get me a nice new bike after disney. We should hook up for a ride and do lunch in Peninsula! Stacey where are you in Cleveland? Mark's birthday is Sat. so a Cavs win would really be the (haha) icing on the cake! We're playing golf at Sleepy Hollow and dinner at a new restaurant in town. Vicki -- your daughter is so pretty! Where were the weddng pics? Edgewater? Huntington? Mark and I were married near Brandywine Falls and had our pics taken there. I'll post some to my gallery so you can see. |

| Not to get off our focus... but the Cavs were amazing last night. LeBron is unbelievable. It's been fun to see him become a star when we starting watching him back in high school. But the best part is what a neat team they are - these guys really love each other and are always patting each other on the back and not taking the limelight. LeBron always says he is in no way a one-man team and gives credit to the other players. Likewise the players really respect him and cheer him on. It's nice to see in a sport where there is so much arrogance. The Indians are rocking too!! If only we could have a great football team to round our city out! **SIGH!** | |||

| Good morning everyone! Well here is what I have been noticing... it's a cinch to count for lunch & breakfast but once the whole family is home and I am cooking dinner I lose count! I know I still make healthy choices but I have got to do better! One week nad counting to Disney vacation. Welcome to all of our new members. Nice to see the board really growing - I think this is one of the most extensive posts. I have also been so swamped I haven't found time to work out like I shoiuld. There for 4 months I was working out almost daily. I am obviously prioritizing wrong. Well here's to a good weekend for everyone with high willpower and low temptation. Oh and - GO CAVS!! Hope everyone is rooting for our win tomorrow night. King James rocks! |

| good morning everyone - I did ok last night... 2 glasses of wine instead of one and a little bit of calorie indulgence in food but nothing terrible! Today I am working on my hubby's birthday party so no time for a workout - hopefully I will get back on track this weekend! Hope you all have a great Thursday!!! |

| Stacey - let me clarify... my push-ups are not "real" ones. I can only manage about 2 real ones. So I do them either using my exercise ball or on my knees. If I do it on my knees I put my feet high in the air, arms fairly wide and manage about 20. It's still a great workout for the arms, shoulders, chest and abs. If I use the ball I roll it way down under my lower legs and do them that way. I've stopped beating myself up about not having the upper body strength for real push-ups. | |||

| good morning everyone! I had a healthy eating day yesterday and "worked out" which was the equivalent of running to my son's school (1.5 miles) to pickhim up, a brisk walk home and then coaching t-ball. Yes - coaching t-ball. Running around station to station and teaching 5 and 6 yr. olds how to play ball, carrying all my bats, helmets and tee from the car to the field adn back -- I was drenched. Then before bed I do 50-75 crunches and 20 push-ups. It was a pretty good day. Trying to find time to workout today - not sure. Thanks Stacey, Brigitte, Morgan, Tina for the sweet words and the encouragement. Next week will be a major family vacation we will look back on forever and I want to like the pictures. Plus hot weather means shorts and swimsuits so... Kevin - get together with a good personal trainer. They will do your measurements and help you to know correct BMI and fat percentage. My guess is your weight is fine but you need to increase muscle mass. You can do it! Brigitte - I was thinking the same thing as Morgan - celebrate that number!!! Pat yourself on the back. Don't weight! (ha ha couldn't resist the pun) Meeting a client for drinks tonight... I decided I will sip on ONE glass of white wine! Salad for dinner. Then celebrating hubby's birthday tomorrow and Saturday so I have temptation ahead! |

| hi everyone - remember me? I got so comfortable with my weight loss and regular exercise that I fell off the wagon! I never did reach my 130 goal. I was happy wih 134 and so I stopped counting - bad idea! I am too afraid to step on the scale and find out the damage. So my plan is to get back to counting and work out every day for a week. Then I will get on the scale and re-assess. Now that the weather is nice there have been cookouts, parties and plenty of neighbors offerig up cold alcoholic beverages. I definitely have a thicker middle and need to get back to counting and reading this posting which was so helpful before! I leave for Disney next Friday morning - I'd like to feel a lot better in cute shorts and swimsuit. I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend & that you all ate and drank far less than me! |

| hi everybody! Well it was a fun-filled-high-calorie weekend. I am NOT going to beat myself up. I did absolutely no counting, a TON of cooking and plenty of eating. There was filet, wine, martinis, potatos, pie, cake, quiche, french toast... We had company for the weekend. 6 people stayed with us and I cooked up a storm. There was NO way I wasn't going to eat it. But I snuck away yesterday and worked out for over an hour, ran 2 miles. I hope to get in some cardio tonight too and get back to counting and being good tomorrow morning. Wish me luck - next weekend is bathing-suit-all-the-time... waterpark with the kids for spring break. UGH! Gotta say - these high-calorie foods and upping the carbs causes my stomach great pain so I guess that's good! Hope everyone had a good weekend. |

| Hi all - busy weekend and as usual, I completely fall off the wagon with going out to dinner with hbby and/or cooking us nice meals. But I didn't go far off this time. However, I'm disappointed I didn't work out more. 1 day out of 3. Very unlike me!!! I need to get motivated and g work out right now. I keep thinking I will post pics sometime soon.... Hope everyone had a good weekend! |

| haha! You can see who is online tonight. CONGRATS Dee! You do NOT look old enough to be a grand-mommy! Beautiful new boy!
I have 2 boys and I LOVED my time in the hospital. There was something dreamy about laying around and having everyone dote on you. I cried both times my childbirth stays were up and they made me go home. Ok - time for bed. I hear hubby ending his workout... by the way my workout was 55 minutes tonight. I felt SO good: 15 minutes weights 5 minutes warm-up 20 minutes running on the treadmill (running is a new thing for me) 10 minutes stepper 5 minutes crunches. |

| You're righ unicat.... I should really have more fresh veggies around. Red onion yes! I also love zucchini in a salad. LOVE mushrooms but gotta have them cooked. The FF cheese was just so rubbery and without taste that I stopped using it. I do however use the FF american slices with egg beaters for an omelet. Also - what are the fudgesicles and dreamsicles that are only 30 & 40 calories? I have the no-sugar added fugesciles but they are 50 cals. Still need ideas for crunch on the salad! Next thread (after the salad one exhausts)... what does everyone drink for libations. I have some yummy low-cal martini recipes! |

| Hilarious - was truly fun to read about: flan cravings hair highlights dresses friends episodes... I feel like I'm at a girlie sleepover! I have a new topic for us: salad! I (thankfully) love salad and have large ones everyday. However now they are boring. I used to be known for my salads which always included something from this list: homemade dressing (olive oil, honey, dijon mustard, garlic) toasted pine nuts spinach roasted almonds pecans strawberries apples cranberries bleu cheese feta cheese NOW - they are pretty much lettuce, tomato and low-cal dressing. I sometimes put smoked turkey on them. What I really miss is the crunch! Nuts and even soy nuts have too many calories. I'm dying for some new healthy ingredients. Any ideas??? |

| Hi everyone - it's been a few days for me. I pop on here every 2-3 days and MAN! Everyone is just typing away! Nice to see such a great community. Great dress Bridget - you can see your hard work has paid off! Stacey - I love sushi and miss that (and my big bowls of cereal) the most. My hubby and I would get 2 or 3 super maki rolls and split them - My fav was spicy tuna with tempura crunch, salmon roe and avocado. Ok - now my mouth is watering. But NOW I get sashimi. Suprisingly very good and super good for you. You can find the counts on here for all kinds of fish. I believe a filet is 2 ozs. I add a salad with dressing on the side and a side of steamed veggies and get very full. Remember to get your spice / heat from the wasabi (radish root) NOT the spicy sauce (made from rich mayo). Good luck! Hi to everyone else as well. I'll try to pop on more often. Oh! By the way - I fit into my goal pants. I should get a picture on here. And I am finally seeing my ab exercises paying off. I can see a little ripple starting! Hope everyone has a great week! |

| Stacey - I glanced at your profile. You are so dedicated!! You have a lot of journal entries (unlike me). Seems you are almost to your goal - our weight & goals are similar. The mac & cheese and beer reference brought me back to college days... that was a long time ago! Almost 20 years... but man - mac & cheese, hot pot ramen noodles, beer, pizza.... I ballooned up to 160 lbs. I barely recognize those pictures of me! Here's some hope for you 20-somethings... the best thing that ever happened to my body was having babies! I got myself in ok shape before (135-140 and exercising 3-4 x's per week). Then when I got pg. I made sure to eat healthy and only gain 28-33 lbs. By nursing and running around caring for a newborn the weight came off in no time. Then I found all kinds of fun ways to exercise with babies... especially rollerblading behind the jogging stroller. After both kids I saw more muscles than ever and dropped to 129#. Just a little FYI! |

| Yea!!! Despite my "backward slide" I actually lost 1.5 lbs.! I am now half way to my goal. I weighed in at 135 this a.m. and am seeking the magic number of 130. So I guess I wasn't making terrible choices after all. Still feels good to be counting again. Also, I noticed in the mirror last night that my butt seemed a teeny bit higher and a teeeny bit tighter. My hubbie conferred and said "your work is really noticeable." Needless to say despite the pouring rain and grey skies it's a good day! |

| Hi Dee - I love couscous - it gives the feeling of pasta / carb satisafaction but without lots of carbs & calories. I get the Trader Joe whole wheat kind. I know you can find wheat couscous at most grocery stores. So it's high in fiber and pretty good for you. I also don't eat a lot at one time. 1/3 cup dry makes about a cup of couscous and I only eat 1/2 cup so that's 110 calories. |

| Not sure yet... for lunch I love a big bowl of soup. I was surprised to learn the Campbells Slect (chunky style) ranged anywhere from 200-300 for the whole can. I have that and a small salad with about 40 cals of dressing. However, last night I made couscous. 1/2 cup is about 100 cals. I mix in broccoli, spinach, spray butter (zero cals) and low-fat parmesan. Yummy! Then again, I have leftover grilled salmon. About 3 ozs. I can top a salad with that and have a sugar-free pudding. So many choices! My friend is on weight watchers so she is emailing all kinds of restaurants (chain and local) and asking for nutritioninfo. She is coming up with so much for me! We have pdf's of lots of places. |

| this may not be the best advice Kil... but I find that drinking the lemonade flavor of crystal lite has me constantly thirsty so I drink more. I know you said you don't need to add flaovr... I just find the the lemonade makes me consistently thirsty. Also I carry around an Eddie Bauer sport bottle - that helps a lot! |

| Hi unicat, cunner, djrizzo... I've been on here awhile (hi again carabo and kilgan...) I was doing so well - kept motivated etc. but then between a trip and several social engagements I started slipping. Good thing I realize that I actually MISS calorie counting and my friends here on 140/130. Thanks for the good wishes! Today wasn't so bad. I want to get back to my 500 daily deficit. I know I can do it. I have to get back to realizing I'm not REALLY that hungry. But I had a healthy day today so I'm hopefully on the right track. I think I'll go celebrate with some cheesecake.... JUST KIDDING!!! |

| I have SO fallen off the wagon!!! While I don't think I've gained any weight back... I have had too many times were I am unable to gauge the calories (going out to dinner, etc.) and then I go ahead and "splurrge" since the rest of the day is blown anyway. I am going to try hard to get back on track this week. I only have 6 pounds until my goal but it's happening so slowly that I feel myself giving up. My hubby is so supportive since he sees me working out every day and says I look better and stronger. It should motivate me right??? Doesn't help that I had wisdom tooth surgery, couldn't eat for 2 days and then MORE than made up for it over the weekend. I am on the downward slide! **SIGH!** Ok, here's to regaining my willpower. |

| I'm with you Carabo... I hate those days!! I felt like this the other night and I told myself not to get discouraged - it was PMS bloat! Plus the whole PMS thing makes me want to eat more. I'm sure it's the increased exercise but I feel hungry so darn often now! I wish I didn't b/c I do make bad choices... Maybe you can look at some old pictures where you are heavier and see for yourself that you have already done so much - you should be proud of your successes so far! |

I am taking my kids to a waterpark over spring break (April 5) so that means being in a swimsuit for 2 days straight. My goal by April 1: down to 135 (130 is ultimate goal by June 1) Abs 3x's / week and bump it up so I see a difference!!! |

| Hi Carabo - I added you too. Congrats on your accomplishment so far. I peeked at your profile and see that your goal is realistic... You'll get there! Ok so - here's what I hate... I can't seem to get my abs in shape! I do notice a nice new curve to my arms and shoulders but I swear getting any "definition" in the lower region (abs, butt, thighs) is so hard! Any tips to share 140/130 group? I use an exercise ball sometimes for crunches but usually just find myself doing a weak number of crunches on the floor before bed (usually only 10-30). |

| I had another "bender" this weekend: wine tasting party and then my own
Oscar party last night. It's impossible to be at parties and be good
much less count calories. I do need to find some more restraint,
however I am not going to beat myself up over a 2-time spluge.
Especially when I eat healthy the rest of the day and workout 6-7 days
/ week. Also, I lost another pound! Yeah - 7 lb.s until my goal. Anxious to workout tonight to try to get the weekend binge off. |

| Well it sounds like just paying attention to what we are eating and making our work-outs a priority is great news for all of us. It's clear we do things differently. My deficit is only 200-500 daily. So my weight loss is slower. But I am only 7 lbs. from my goal of 130! Pleasantly surprised to see I lost 1 lb. despite my trip this past weekend and the eating extravaganza that went on. For TGIF let's all share a little fun tip or recipe. I have 2 things to share: one: my "lite" lemon drop martini: I use 1 shot of citrus vodka, 1 shot of vanilla vodka, I make a shot of triple-strength crystal lite lemonade and shake all in a shaker w/ ice. I rim the glass with a fresh lemon and shake on Splenda. It's pretty darn good! 130 calories. two: I have been lightly jogging up my steps in my house. I go up & down for 5-10 minutes and I burn anywhere from 60-100 calories! Easy, quick, cheap! |

| Hi all - I am curious too hhbroad... tell us more! Kil - thanks for the encouragement. I know you're right - it's nice to hear it from this little "support group!" My husband says there is a difference howing already and says he can't "get enough" of me - says all the exercise is a turn-on! Haha! So that's a good thing. Especially coming from a guy who's in such great shape. Knarik - how much do you exercise each day to get a 600-900 deficit? What is your routine? I think I need to take it up a notch. I am generally burning about 300 cals / day in exercise. I am in the "sedentary" column because I have to sit at the computer all day. I don't plug in household activities into my calories burned unless I really did something that made me breathe hard. Ok - ready for this??? I just got back from my 4-day trip to LA. Oh man! I met my husband's 100% Italian family. Talk about the food! Large quantities of fantastic food - and wine tastings daily! No chance for counting much less being good. But my hubby and I jogged / walked every day. Not beating myself up... but I am back on track and glad to be back - hope everyone had a good weekend! |
