Happy Thursday, Greenies! Well with my humongous tumble off the wagon last week and thru the weekend I only managed to put on 1lb. PHEW. Getting back on my elliptical and dusting off my workout dvds, combined with logging all my food is working. Who knew? jillian~ *\ rocconess~ congrats on the 1lb loss! I exercise at home (as of Tues this week LOL) and am using an elliptical machine. I also have a 20mins windsor pilates dvd, and another dvd called 10 Minute Solution Target Toning. It has 10min workouts for your abs, thighs, buns, and arms/shoulders. So this is what my workout plan is: leslazz~ welcome back from Mouseville! Wow good job on the loss this week. I'm hoping to be a loser next week too LOL.

Thanks lilygirl! Wow 55lbs. that's amazing Today I worked on my arms dvd with 5lb dumbbells and managed 15mins on the elliptical at a sweating pace LOL. Hope everyone's having a good day. |

Hi Chip! Just wanted to put in my 2 cents' worth and say I totally understand. I managed to health my way down to 172lbs ~ a 42lb loss ~ using just the tools on this site, a gazelle (Tony Little exercise machine), and then an elliptical trainer, coupled with powerwalking while pushing a double jogging stroller and pulling a wagon with 2 kids behind. I felt great, had tons of energy, and always felt positive...... ....then my 20yr high school reunion came and went, and I forgot to set a new goal for myself! It was fall, and the weather was crappy and yada yada yada...I just kinda stopped taking time for myself. But now I am back and I know I can do it. I've done weight watchers, slim fast, south beach, and sureslim. They were too limiting for me ~ I LOVE to cook! It's great to be back here and reacquainting myself with all the recipes I created before, not to mention connecting with all the wonderful people here. You CAN do it. You ARE worth it. xoxo |

I aim for at least 20g/day, usually getting 25-30. I get mine from fresh fruit and vegs, whole grain crackers and fibre 1 cereal. |

I hit a bit of a wall emotional-wise the last week or so, haven't been able to sleep at night, bla bla bla. Been leaning on my wonderful hubby lots. I'm afraid to step on the scale I cleared a spot on the living room floor and attempted to complete my windsor pilates 20min dvd ~ HOLY CRAP it's been awhile LOL. Then I wrestled my dusty, neglected elliptical trainer from the bedroom out into the livingroom and managed a pretty intense 20min workout. I also adjusted my activity level in my settings on site here. So, everything's in place, I know I can do it. Hopefully I won't be posting too big a gain this week...but...even if I do, I know that next week's post will be GREAT. Luv you guys xoxo |

yay I like the commitment factor in this challenge -- this is exactly what I need. I found a great way to avoid the fridge/pantry -- working in my yard! I forgot how much I love having my hands in the earth, breaking it up and cultivating it. Almost orgasmic (don't tell my hubby LOL) Another plus of working outside (for me) is that I don't want to eat crappy processed food. We have the most amazing bbq'd lamb chops last nite -- hubby brushed em with a bit of olive oil, minced garlic and fresh chopped oregano...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Dinner tonite is going to be bbq'd pork chops and mixed greens topped with garlic red wine vinegar. how's everyone else's weekend??? |

eek. well I stayed on plan 2 days this week, the rest kinda fell by the wayside and I was "winging" it. On a positive note, my weight has stayed the same. Supersize, I have turning over and over the question you asked re how will I stay motivated! I am working on this...I don't want to fall into the ol' sticking to it for a couple weeks then just giving up...but I've been off "plan" for so long and gained back some weight so it is hard to get back to it again. Let's face it, being healthy is WORK. A smoker can hang with non smokers to help them quit. A drinker can hang with non drinkers to help them quit. I havent' been able to find any NON EATERS yet. ha ha ha My plan for this week (starting today) is: * drink 10-12 glasses of water a day. * exercise exercise exercise!!!!! at least 30mins 5x during the week
I used to drink so much water, I loved the way it made me feel, my skin was glowing, bla bla bla...now I have to force myself... agh. I'm whining...I'll be back later! |

wow I'm really enjoying reading everyone's plans etc! I was a good girl today So, because I missed my planned circuit workout at the gym this morning, instead of eating the 1500cals I planned, I ate a little over 1200 instead (1212 to be exact). I had all my water today. I said "no thank you" to cookies and timbits at work. Baby steps. I'm trying so hard not to beat myself up over gaining back the weight I worked so hard to lose last year!!!!!! ok...off to plan/pack my food for tomorrow's adventure in the big ol' world! |

*BAM* what the hell just happened? here's what works for me (sometimes) * write in my journal here * give myself a manicure/pedicure (you can't eat with wet nails) * call a friend I'm going to go back to stopping myself and figuring out if I'm actually HUNGRY or if I just emotional. sometimes matching a snack to my feelings helps: SAD>> creamy comforting - yogurt + cereal or smoothie MAD>> crunchy hard food - apples, carrots, multi grain flatbread type crackers or plain popcorn like I said....SOMETIMES this is all I need to do. I find if I'm really tired, or if I've been putting everyone else first and putting stuff I'd like to do for me, that I tend to just throw all my healthy eating out the window! just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back at it. one meal won't make that much difference -- it's what you do AFTER that counts! |

I managed to lose 42lbs between Jan-Sep last year (woo hoo)! Then the weather turned crappy, Christmas came and my momentum kinda went the way of the dodo bird. 35lbs have found their way back to me my plan: * log my damn food the night before + keep my menu + food with me. * drink 10-12 glasses of water a day * 45-60mins activity (elliptical or walking or pilates) 5 days a week

Haaaaaaay BooBoo (think Yogi Bear LOL) I had 62lbs to lose last January. I managed to lose 42lbs by August. Unfortunately, I got cocky and decided I could wing it ...... and packed on 20lbs from Oct to now. so now, I have 42lbs to reach my goal of 150lbs! 2 girls here, ages 6 and 8 - sounds like we are starting out pretty much the same
BTW you don't look fat at all (honestly!!!) I tell myself I just have "neat fat" -- it's that nagging roll around the middle that's ticking me off now! hang in there -- you can do it!!! |

hey loco, I'm echoing what coach said, I think your intake may be a bit too low for your activity levels. I'm a SAHM too -- I do home daycare, and get out for walks everyday, pushing a double stroller and pulling a wagon -- it's a big energy burn. as time consuming as it is, maybe try weighing and logging everything -- then you know for sure exactly what your numbers are. I hit plateaus that lasted 6-8 weeks, so I hear your frustrations. sometimes all it takes is just that extra 100cals and *boom* your scale starts moving again! BTW you look great in your pics -- keep at it! don't forget to take measurements every 4 weeks or so -- sometimes even tho the scale's not moving, your body shrinks in inches |

well THIS certainly caught my eye give yourselves a pat on the back for coming back to CC+. no one said this would be easy. or a quick fix. I'm in the same boat too (boy I hope this boat doesn't capsize soon ha ha). I went from 212lbs in Jan/07 to 170lbs Sept/07 = 42lbs. part of my motivation was to slim down for my 20yr high school reunion which happened on Sept 29/07. after the reunion came and went, I kinda went into celebratory mode and .... well.....
TEN POUNDS GAINED BACK LATER
so I'm back now......I started planning and logging all my meals + snacks, and trying to get my water intake back up to 10-12 glasses a day as of Sunday (Nov 4th). I've done awesome. no cheats. no cravings. I've come to the realization that I am one of those people who will need to plan and measure and log what goes into my body for the rest of my life. I need to be accountable to ME. <<hugs>> we can do it!!!!! |
