| Motivation | I have so much anxety I don't know what to do | Nov 22 2009 17:58 (UTC) |
|
Women who worry too much. I'll have to pick up that book. I have extreme anxiety myself where my nerves are so frazzled I become irritable. I feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin 90% of the time. So I know how you feel! Gosh especially with the holiday's coming up :) I've been called a "worry wart" every since I could remember, and have been told to "stop worrying" for ages. I didn't even start driving until I was 21 because of my anxiety. I just worried I would injure someone while driving, either another car or passenger, so bad that I would shake and sweat when behind the wheel (even with the keys not in the ignition). So trust me chick, I KNOW what anxiety is like. But worry not on the health. Just keep trucking and getting the weight off. Try not to obsess over it though, because I think addiction and anxiety go hand in hand. I've developed my own case of obsesses anxiety related. If you do have access to a therapist, or your insurance covers it, I suggest getting into it even if you feel like you don't "need" to especially with dieting. It can go bad if you start rituals and obsessions like I did. Hang in there! |

| Weight Loss | How to kindly refuse desserts... | Nov 20 2009 04:21 (UTC) |

The "I had a big lunch" is the one I use most often. The "I'm watching my sugar intake" is clever. Nobody can argue with that. I've seen the food allergy one backfire. Someone will remember and then make something that doesn't contain it, and you're stuck eating it because it was made with you in mind. The funny thing is, if its on an "out the door" kinda serving, I normally take it so I can sniff it at my desk and determine the quality. :) I do that with cake, cupcakes, muffins, donuts, etc. I'm strange. I sniff food. |

@Duke: You are so so so inspirational. You have been motivation to me being around these boards for years. Just look at you. I remember when you first arrived. Your transformation... It blows me away. And it's true. NEVER lay down. This is your body, this is your life, never give it up. Dieting is hard, but so is having diabetes, so is laying in a hospital bed after a heart attack if you make it that far, so is being immobile and not getting to share your life with family and friends. So is the depression you receive from feeling like you're not good enough for that dream job, a man or woman you desire. Forgoing that morning donut and going for an afternoon walk is petty compared to what you achieve by gaining health. I've lost 175lbs and I'll never know the triumphs you go through when you can get those clothes at walmart, but I do know what it's like to grab life, shake some sense into it, and get moving again. |

| Weight Loss | Another alcohol & diet post. Who said u cant loose weight while drinking ? | Nov 20 2009 03:59 (UTC) |

Woo I can be in here all day :) Actually I'm quitting drinking because it causes me to binge. I used to be able to handle a few drinks, but with the way life is right now, it's not wise. But I do have a good list of drinks I enjoy "low calorie" while drinking: Captain Morgan & Coke Zero Captain Morgan & Diet Coke Captain Morgan & Diet Dr Pepper/or Cherry Diet Dr Pepper Captain Morgan can be interchanged with Sailor Jerry's which contains a higher alcohol content than the Captain ;) Sprite Zero & Bacardi w/ Sugar Free Raspberry Torani makes for a good "shirley temple" As for the Torani, some of their syrups are disgusting so be warned. I wouldn't recommend their cherry AT all. Ew. Sprite Zero & Bacardi Razz (be aware of a hangover but one of my faves regardless) Diet Cherry 7p & Bacardi Diet Black Cherry Jones Soda & Bacardi Coke Zero & Vanilla Vodka The list goes on and on and on. Although it's not recommended you mix sugar free beverages/caffeine/and alcohol, I do it anyway. My top pics: Sailor Jerry & Coke Zero, Bacardi Razz & Sprite Zero. Just my preferences. |

Hungry-girl subscriber here! And yes, I wonder if some people are CCers. I've been around these boards for almost 4 years... so... who knows me! Especially when people "look" at you like they might know you, and it just spins your head. LoL. You're not alone. |

Original Post by greekhoneymoon: I love that line. Since it only comes once a year. Yep.. and so does my birthday, valentines day, new years day, easter, christmas, etc etc etc. Gah! So I just removed the day from my calendar all together. Not really. I AM making a chocolate cream pie with cookie crust and bringing it with me to my boyfriends families place for T-day. I am hoping that a dinner roll and some sliced white meat turkey can call it a day. I really hate all the junk. I really just want some turkey, steamed green beans, some corn on the cob, and a french roll. Can't die on that menu. Motivation: I'm going to be seeing a LOT more people on Christmas. I want to look my best. Not overdoing it this year :) |

Congrats Amy! Glad to see you still around the boards. It's not easy maintaining, especially after years of emotional eating, but day by day you can conquer it! I will NOT let food take away my happiness and freedom. It's not worth those french fries. It's just not. I wont remember those in a year, but I will know that I had and will have my health with me :) You only live once! Allow yourself to breathe freely and be alive. |

Dear CEO, Please, and I mean PLEASE stop hiring more project managers and traffic managers. This company is falling downhill with all the overhead you are creating. First I have to do my work, then relay it back to the project manager, who then talks to the client, who then talks to the account manager. Then you knock my hours down to 2 days a week because of the budget? Because I only have 4 clients? Are you freakn kidding me? You call this place a "Marketing Agency" when the only marketing that is provided is done by me! 2 days a week! Give me an effing break. Oh, and if I hear the word "billable hours vs non billable hours" one more time, I am going to punch you in the throat. And I'm sorry if we only have "4 budgeted hours" for a client and want to do work for them. I don't get how you can huff and puff about logging that time when otherwise i'd just sit here like a lump.. playing on calorie count :) Freakn retards I work with I swear. You're all RETARDED parrots. Grrr. I hate it here. Sincerely, Melinda

Congrats! I haven't heard of this program, but I can see how it would be very encouraging and inspirational. Just make sure that you learn for long term health and not just the 60lbs off. Glad to see you have everything in the clear with a trainer, nutritionist, and a doc. It will be very eyeopening to work with each one! 60 pounds is going to feel so good to get off your gut :) Happy happy. Let us know how it goes. PS: Are you wearing the bodybugg and everything? Teach your body who's boss! Kim is in charge now. :) |

I don't have a bodybugg but I've seen my friend wearing hers around. Bottom line: Knowledge is power. Just wear the thing! I hear that you have to pay a monthly subscription to get the online support and tools. I'm jealous of people that have them. I want one! |

Eat up chick! Polar HRM's are pretty accurate. I mean, why would we have spent so much money on the dang things if they were pointless? :) I love my F6. You seem to be pretty active. I wish I had that much push in me to burn 1125 a day. Thats a load. |

You'll get the deposit back after a year and they'll send you a check. I love my Iphone, but right now I only have the 2g. It depends if its worth it to you personally.
I'm thinking about switching to Verizon to get the Droid phone that just came out. It's an open platform, has a full keyboard, FLASH on the camera! Looks awesome! Ah decisions decisions. My contract is up in January. |

| The Lounge | Who else hates Thanksgiving food? | Nov 07 2009 18:04 (UTC) |

Why do so many of us seem to bring the canned crappy stuff to the table? I don't understand it. Yes, Thanksgiving food can be made amazingly delicious if we bring it back to fresh foods and nice prep work. I think we try to cram so many seperate dishes on the table that all quality is lost. I've never been to a Thanksgiving table I was happy with the food sitting there. Maybe I'll get a say-so and help with Christmas Dinner (AKA Thanksgiving Pt2). |

Gross. I can't believe how many people like the food. Yes I am referring to traditional thanksgiving. Thats what I grew up on, and it's what I get when I go home to my family. The only other thanksgiving I have is with my boyfriends family which is the same crap. Crap crap crap. Now if I were to make my own thanksgiving which is not possible because I just live with my bf and we are destine to go to his folks house (or else they will cry or something), I'd do a Turkey breast rubbed with some kinda herb butter (maybe even chicken), some roasted garlic new red potatoes, maybe corn on the cob, and some baked potatoes. As for dessert? I'd never cook a fruit into a pie. That's just gross, mushy, and full of crap. If I'm going to eat all those calories, it best be called "chocolate moose" Nuff said. |

| Weight Loss | How do you feel about people who are not overweight/losing weight on this forum? | Nov 06 2009 19:23 (UTC) |

I have been in these forms for who knows how long. I've lost 175lbs and am now maintaining and will be celebrating my 2 years maintenance Nov 11th (just a few days away!). This place keeps me accountable, and I love helping others. Because after losing 175lbs, you've been through just about everything. And calorie counting DOES work. No surgery, no drugs. I've gained a few pounds since being laid off of work and in the slumps, but I still consider myself successful. Working on these few! Why anyone cares, I don't know :) I've noticed that those who are thin and looking to lose weight to an unhealthy amount normally have posts with 0 or 1 comment. People tend to ignore it. If they're looking to lose 10lbs because they have some poof in their tummy, I always tell them to focus on situps, and not the scale. Many try to take the easy way out. Exercise is key! It's about being tone and healthy. |

| Weight Loss | Depo Provera shots causing extreme weight gain? | Nov 05 2009 02:44 (UTC) |

I'm on the depo. I was on it for 2 years when I was 16-18, again when I was 21-23, and now at 25. The first 2 times I gained some weight.. This last time my doc suggested the "low dose" depo, the Depo SubQ, and I haven't gained weight from this one.. and it also doesn't make me as crabby. Gotta love less hormones. |

yum. they're like small pills of corn syrup. so gross and full of artificial flavor, but so good! I have a bag in my cabinet for when I bake sugar cookies and decorate them with some kids this weekend. But dammit, I can't say I haven't made a hole in the bag and had at some. They're just SO GOOD. Oh those pumpkins are my favorite. Chewy chewy goodness. |

Original Post by kbella24: Ya I was going to mention this too. There's a shortage right now. You should be able to find it in the baking isle tho, and I'd get it while you can. Holiday's are coming soon. Make sure you get the Libbys Pure Pumpkin and not the PIE filling. Just a heads up on that one :) |

:) Your body will adapt. This is just new to it. It used to happen to me too, then my body figured out how to digest it properly. I wouldn't worry. Drink more water if it seems really watery so you don't dehydrate your body. |

I hate my job!! OMG OMG OMG do I hate my job. As I sit here at work typing this haha. I had a good job that I loved, I loved the people I worked with, then the company went under and I got laid off. I'm SETTLING to be at this freakn job, but it pays the bills. I just hate the people I work with. They're so RUDE and in your face, and they belittle me like I'm stupid, and ask me if I need "beginner guides". Blah. Let's just say I'm looking for a new job still. And once I find it, I'll be jumping for joy. Did I mention this job had me drinking 5 nights a week because I would come home and just want VOID in my life? A drink vacation if you will. I've quit that because it's no good, but UGHH this job! |

The fact that she came out with a product made me instantly lose all respect for her. Sorry, but weight loss shouldn't need a "fat burner" or any other type of supplement unless its doctor prescribed after blood work. It's called fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and water. Nuff said. I wouldn't waste my money. I've lost 175lbs, and kept it off for nearly 2 years, and no, I didn't take anything that altered my metabolism. Ugh. |

| Motivation | Family 'Worried' About My Health? Total BS! | Oct 09 2009 06:57 (UTC) |

Oh yea. I hear this all the time from my family but after almost 2 years of maintaining they're finally shutting their traps. Get this! I lose 175lbs putting me from 295lbs to 120lbs on a 5'5 body. Healthy right? They never voiced concern when I was 175 freakn lbs over weight. But let me get down to normal size, and all of a sudden the skinny jokes and 'youre scaring me' comments come out. I should gain 20-40lbs if it were up to them. Meh. I can't make everyone happy with my weight, only me. And my health is in my #1 interest. If it's not in theirs, so be it. Hang in there. As long as you're comfortable, confident, strong, and FIT along with being thin, then who cares what family voices. As for the boyfriend... he'll either get used to your new body size, or you'll ditch him for someone who likes you for you, not your body no matter bigger or smaller. :) |

| Weight Loss | Who's a size 2? | Oct 08 2009 05:12 (UTC) |
12 |
There's a big difference between a size 1 and a size 2. A size 1 is teen sizes, where a size 2 is womens sizes. A lot of it has to do with hip frame size more than anything. I have a small frame, so my hips are narrower and I can fit into a smaller size. If you have a pear shape body, a size 2 is nearly impossible. :) |

I normally have a sandwich, pita, or salad for lunch with some fruit. Lunch is lunch.. I have more fun with dinner. My lunch I'm eatting right now has: iceburg lettuce, red cabbage, cucumbers, alfalfa sprouts, a roma tomato, chicken, and a little light balsalmic vinegrette. Sandwiches? Slices of bread, meat, and some mustard, lettuce, tomato, whatever you want on there :) More veggies the better. Then fruit: a cup of melon, cup of grapes, an apple, etc. Whatcha like to eat? |

Quick oats, 3 packs of splenda, and a pinch of salt. If I want to get sassy I add some cinnamon or a little vanilla extract. I like my oats to taste OATY! I <3 Quaker. |

| Weight Loss | Which diet is best? | Sep 24 2009 18:16 (UTC) |
|
The best diet is your OWN diet. It's the only diet you'll stick to. It really is calorie in / calorie out. I started out with slim fasts and lean cuisines. After feeling deprived of food, I switched to salads/sandwiches and fruit for lunch (on most days) and oatmeal for breakfast (a LOT more filling than those shakes). Then tons of veggies, lean meats, good fats, etc for dinner. And I've been maintaining for nearly 2 years un-deprived. |
