Back after a long, long absence.  Who knew that work could be so demanding?  Haven't lost any weight and haven't gained any, but ready to start losing this time for real.  Wish me luck.....

Got a big surprise at my first day back at work!  My brother called to tell me that he and my sister-in-law are making me an aunt!  First grandbaby for my parents and they couldn't be more thrilled, even if they do have to wait until September to see the little creature.

In other news, managing to maintain my weight, but it's beyond me how I'm doing it.  Going to work will certainly help though, since I'm not sitting around all day doing nothing.  Hope everyone else is having a great week like I am!

I also stumbled across something that's kind of interesting.  Geocaching.  Some people came to the place where I work today looking for a secret cache on their GPS system and it seemed like a blast.  I think I'm going to splurg on one of the systems myself and go see what it's all about.  SOme of these caches are very well hidden on hiking trails and such, so it'll be a plus for exercize!

Hello again ladies.  I'm back after a pretty lengthy absence.

Well, I've lost about 5 lbs since I was last here, mostly due to stress.  You want to know the full story, read my journal.  It's an interesting one to say the least!  Feels good to be back.

I did and still do to some extent, but it's getting better.  The thing that kind of got me comfortable in my own skin was doing something that was outside of the norm.  When I became a historical reinactor, I discovered people that were just like me.  I saw them with this very strong confidence in themselves, doing something that they loved, and I realized that my weight wasn't really something that I should be ashamed of anymore.

Weight is something that you can change, something that you can take control over and I think that all of us are in the same boat together, wanting to better ourselves to the best that we can be.

Wow.  I hit 1600 calories even today with an A- score.  That makes me feel a lot better about things.

I have no clue how many calories I've eaten today.  Haven't really been watching that closely.  I know...bad idea.

I'm going to get back on track tomorrow though...

I'm always game.

I'm 5'8 and 293 pounds.  My goal is 200 by the end of the year, an agressive goal, I know but one that I know I can accomplish.

It's kind of funny when I tell people my real weight.  I guess they don't think that I really weigh that much because I'm tall.  Tall does not always equal skinny and healthy.  lol.

Hey everyone.

I'm a senior at Oklahoma State University, taking the semester off to get my health back on track, actually.  European History major with an Art History minor

Age:  21

Height:  5'8", medium

Starting weight:  327

Current weight:  293

Goal:  200...to begin with....

And to think...most of that weight I gained within a 6 week period!  Yikes!  Now you see why I'm taking a semester off to get back on track.  The curse of bad genetics.

I've been on glucophage since April for extreme insulin resistance.  Not diabetes, but pretty damn close.  It hasn't really effected my dieting at all, but it will give you a wicked case of heartburn if you take it.  Be prepared for that and keep lots of antacids handy!

I was diagnosed with PCOS back in April.  It's very hard to lose the weight, especially with all of the pills that they put me on...including a steroid of all things.  I've been through some serious health scares in that time, but the one thing that my doctor keeps saying is that diet and exercise will solve almost everything.  And so far, it's working.

Balance is the best for me, especially since my body wants to do some strange things with the foods that I eat.  Stay away from sugar and salt.  That's your worst enemy anyway.

Just found out about this site and a new member.  100 is the goal for me at the moment, but I know that I could stand to lose more than that.  Being 21 and a college student who works full time, I find it really difficult to get free time to exercize, let alone eat right.  I'm hoping to get into the habit of eating right and get down to a weight that will allow me to do more things!

Just started this diet and only one pound to show for it.  99 more to go...shouldn't be that hard...right?
