| Akia - My husband knows how I feel, he's in the same boat. I'm not sure if we really motivate eachother though. We tend to rub the other the wrong way on this subject. I mean if he and I are grocery shopping and he doesn't want me to get something and he refers to my dieting I tend to get a little peeved and feel like he's telling me what to do. I can't explain it very well, but i think the best way for me to motivate him is to lead by example. He doesn't sabatouge (spelled right?) my eating right though which is good. | |||

| Health & Support | Anyone else on anti-depressants or other weight-gaining drugs? | Apr 13 2007 16:21 (UTC) |

| I'm not taking the same anti-depressant...I'm on 50mg of Zoloft and managing to lose weight, although I am also on Phentermine as well (prescribed by my Dr.). Now I know that comment doesn't help, but have you talked to your Dr. about alternative meds? I don't know your situation so this may not be doable...I know it's sometimes hard to find one that works for you. Are you taking in plenty of water? which I should take my own advise on that one :) Just some off the top of my head suggestions.

| I agree with the didn't notice them theory... I think when they are all stretched out they are a little lighter in color, and as you get smaller and they are less stretched out they are a little redder and noticeable.
But I've heard pregnant women swear by Palmers Cocoa Butter lotion to reduce the appearance. There is nothing that takes them away forever, but we can all try to reduce the appearance :) And really try to not get any more :) Candy |

| WOOOHOOOO!
I lost my 2lbs during the 2lb challenge for the week :) Man I didn't think that was going to happen. 191 down to 189 I'll try posting it on MSN again later, when I go to signin it times out...oh well. Next Thursday I'm shooting for 187 :) Thanks everyone! Reading has helped me stay encouraged and focused Candy |

| Sethar - Mine isn't the pop up blocker, I don't have it on. In fact I had been using it for that week just fine, a little slow, but it would still come up and let me enter my message. The issue now is that when I hit to submit it goes over to a message from MSN stating that the url is not correct and to refresh and check it....which is crazy because that message editor that pops up doesn't let you type in the url, it's automatically there. Anyways it's just funky....thanks for the suggestion though I'm sure others may have had the pop up blocker on. :) | |||

| The calorie counting and food logging is time consuming, but after
awhile you get the hang of it and become more aware of what your
calorie intake looks like food wise for the day. I know that on a
work day I'm able to back my snacks, lunch, dinner and know that I'm
where I need to be since it's pretty much the same stuff each
time. Now at home is a different story....I have a hard time
remembering to eat those inbetween snacks and all of my meals. Jess - Don't give up! Something I've learned from giving up numerous times is that I always gain back what I worked so hard to lose and no matter how much I try to make myself okay with my weight, sooner or later I want to lose again because I'm not really okay with it....then I have to start over with the same 10-20lbs to lose all over again, which by the time I lose it I'm getting to the point where I'm frustrated again. It's a vicious circle I've been on and now I'm thinking that even if I don't lose real quick, as long as I keep eating right and paying attention I will at least not gain back what I've lost which is better than nothing :) (hope that makes sense, sometimes it does more so in my head) Well I gained a pound after working out yesterday, but whatever....I'm working out again today and then I'm going to try real hard to do cardio on Wed Thu... I'm thinking that maybe I need to just pay attention to how I feel and how my clothes feel for awhile since the scale is getting to me. I know that when working out you can gain, but sooner or later I'd have to lose, I mean I can't imagine being a size 9/10 leaner person and still 190lbs? Anyways I'm going to learn patience this time and slow and steady wins the race ;) |

| Congrats to all that have lost so far! The holiday wasn't too bad for me, I could have done better...freakin cheese cake!
Anyways I did get to weigh and measure at Curves today to see where I'm at since I've been slacking the last few months...but to my suprise I've lost 5.5lbs since I started in November and 3.5 inches all over.... Granted I've been a member since November so it may seem like it's a little, but really two of the months I didn't go at all so I was really going in expecting to have gained. Yay for me! On the Yahoo thing I think PlaidPooka knows my response since I threw it out there to her, but I would be in for Yahoo as well. MSN isn't letting me reply on the messages now and I've had other troubles with it. If we stay with it that's fine too, I'll just figure it out ;) Candy |

| I feel ya Plaid - MSN was letting me on, but when I would click on the messages it was just a white screen. I think they are having issues, I'll try again later.
Joyfulake - I don't blame you for not wanting to share your weight, if you want to do the challengs and post what you've accomplished I'm sure you can post something like this.... start: 50lbs to lose, current: 48lbs to lose, Goal: 50lbs lost. Yay MSN is working again...I'm not finding it to be the most user friendly of sites, but it works ;) Well I'm off to start my day, I planned my meals for the next two days (days that I work), I even portion sized and packed veggie packs, nuts, and rice cakes so I can grab it and go, no excuses that I was running late and didn't have time (I use that one a lot). I hope all you ladies (do we have any guys here?) have a fabulous day! Candy |

| Hey there all you losers! (in a good way, lol)
If you are on the msn group or thinking of joining it I posted a 2lbs in a week challenge today for anyone that wants in on that. The way I see it saying I've got 40-50lbs to lose seems exhausting...2lbs not so much. To start my week off I'm bringing the stationary bike into the house! I seriously don't use it in the garage, but put in front of the tv and I'll be there! Before we all know it we'll be half way to our goal and we'll be the 20-30lbs to lose club ;) |

| Jess or 9360488181 - Sure, at this point I think we are all just getting started! Wow 40.8lbs lost! That's a huge deal and so is every 5lbs...I could sure use a 5lbs loss right about now ;) | |||

| Pooka that's funny...I know what you mean though. They always look tempting in the store, but I never seem to get the swing of things ;)
So my scale said 191 again, and I did really good yesterday! >:( I can always get to this weight from 200 easily but then it becomes impossible! I would like to see the scale in the 80's sometime this week...I think the hubby and I are going to go for a walk together this week though which will be my fun exercise :) Sweetcurls I'll join a group, but I'm with Pooka on the setting one up thing...I use yahoo. Well ladies you all have a good day! |

| Ohhh....I'm in! Last year I weighed in at 212 (my heaviest!) and made my way down to 190, but of course went back to 200. I'm 5'7 and would like to be at 150. I have currently lost 11lbs in the last month, so I was at 189, but man it's teetering on that scale!!! 189, 190, 191, 192, 191 again it's just bouncing around and I've done that before. I'm afraid that I worked really hard the for first 10lbs and now it's like my energy or motivation deflated going into my second month. I joined Curves in Dec but haven't been going consistently as my partner was on maternity leave, but now she's back! so I'm hoping to start going on a regular basis again and I need to start walking.
I'm 25 and will be 26 in May...I was a good size up until I was 20 and I don't want to miss all my twenties at this size! Man...I think I needed to rant a little ;) Look forward to this journey with all of you and hope that we all keep the forum going on a regular basis! Candy |
