I am 58 and my body doesn't seem to respond to what I consider healthy eating habits as well.  What is going on? As of today I have gained 12lbs of the 50lbs I have lost.  I have a friend that has started going to a clinic that gives her B-12 shots and some other injection to lose her weight.  No, I don't want to go to that extreme.  I know I can get back on track.

Kyashiis, I have enjoyed reading of your journey it is so up lifting and makes me want to visit Japan and visit all the wonderful places you mention.

Unfortuantly, here in Southern California we are in a severe drought we are all hoping for some rain.  We would welcome torrential rains here.

I will check out your photos and thank you for share your venture with the group it sounds fabulous...

Kyashiis, I will keep faith that my stomach will be flat one day... it is more the pouch that is hard to get rid off.Yell even with all the sit ups. 

I hope you DH enjoy your hike together and the wonderful veggie meal planned to bring everyone together I am sure it will be delicious.... Food and Wine... mmmm

Mikka, You go Wow! I know you willreach your goal.  I didn't walk yesterday I was really tired from Wednesday.  Wednesday is my cleaning day I over did it I cleaned my carpets myself upstairs and down stairs....What was I thinking!

Today, I feel better and plan on taking my walk.  I will stop by the base to use the gym for an hour.  My weight is the same 201. drinking lot's of water.

 I realize we all demand or need a little magic in our lives but sad to say that we should not believe all the stories we read such as many of us believe the things we see in print and anecdotes about how someone lost 60lbs in 60 days do not buy into these stories these are all lies remember anything can be printed and it is powerful allure especially when we need to lose 60 or more pounds.  Their are no quick fix diet books they lie about the effectiveness of a new fad diets.  If you buy a book to help you in eating smarter, exercising better try to avoid books that make extravagant claims and check the authors educational credentials or just ask Mary here at cc she always has the answers we need.

I have committed to a life change of eating smarter and exercising better so that I live longer!

I have started on Glucosamine Chondroiton I believe it is helping I am preparing for a walk today.  As for my shoes it is time for a new pair.

robbie I have noticed that my face is thinner and chest flatterSurprised and as for my tummy still working at it.  Doing 20 sit-ups noon and night.  After having 4 kids and two of them being twin's and with age... I don't know how flat my stomach will get. What bothers me is the hanging (know what I mean) does that ever go away?Frown Kiss hehehe

Hello everyone, Friday my computer (DSL) line went down.  I did not realize how much I need my computer it was terrible not being able to get on line.

My Saturday started out with family coming in from out of town.  So, I spent the whole day cooking and making sure everyone had plenty to eat. Rib's, TriTip, Chicken, baked bean's and potato salad, peas and carrots, and a BIG wardolf salad.   I was so tired and my feet were still aching from my long walks during the week.  My feet were not happy puppy's.  Finely, 8:00 p.m. Sunday I went down I told everyone good night.... WHAT IS HAPPENING? I remember I could stay up and play a couple of board games.... I was tired everyone left by Monday afternoon.

I was very good I watched my portions didn't over eat.  Had chicken and salad.

Didn't walk my knees still bothering me I think I will try walking tomorrow not five miles only 3.

Hello everyone, I started out for my walk today and at a mile my knees started giving me so much painl I just could not keep going.  I turned around and came home and took some aspirin.  I guess, I'll give my feet and knees a rest for today and see how I feel tomorrow.

I am trying not to pay so much attention to what I see on the scaleUndecided  But, as you say bonton71 its all about our eating habits.  I have been eating very healthy, watching portions and counting Calories.  I do want to lose this weight Minnie goal is 20lbs.  I agree with your statement....that, I am healthier just not lighter.

Hopefully, I will see a big change next week!

gerbology, WE CAN DO THIS! Please do not think of it as a "diet" think of it as a life change.  It about making changes in your life to be healthy and making the right choices.

Has anyone watched the SuperSize me movie.  I did and I have had all my family watch it that eat fast food.  WATCH IT it may make a change in the choices you make when eating out.

Drink plenty of water and remember it takes baby step's to reach our goal weight and then it working on maintaining.

Nisdes, Yeah its all about portion and control I have a food scale now and use it sometimes but, I have to be a lil more diligent and put more effort in what I eat and in portion.  I am putting a lot of effort withexercising and walking not paying attention to that scale its crazy how it controls me... hahahaha Tongue out

Thanks clharr for your reminder that about the scale.  I just want to see it go down, down, down.

Good Morning everyone, Well I am ready and out of here its another beautiful day here in Southern California.

Please someone answer why is it that I have gained a pound when I am watching cals, exercising, and watching portion.... I guess its the slowing of the metabolism? I need to work harder? or stop eating!

bonton71 Surprised and it takes longer to lose weight and we have to work harder to lose 5 lbs.  But, it feels good just to get out of the house.

For bladder infections they sell over the counter meds at the pharmacy.  During the hot summer you have to make sure to drink lot of water.

I am working hard to lose the next eight pounds.  I will walk tomorrow but not as far.  My feet hurt.Yell

Hello to all, Wow that hike was great! Feet are lil tired but in all I feel good and ready for a lil napCool First some lunch hmmm.... Tuna sound's good.  I guess I am off for another walk cause just checked no tuna in the pantryUndecided

While on my hike this morning, I meet this man that re-builds bikes! I told him about my old Schwinn and he said he would put new everything on it.  Hurray! I guess I will have a bike after all for this coming weekend.

And, now I will be able to join the group that ridea past my house every morning.  Happy, Happy and Happy

Glucosamine wonderful drug it has help with my knee pain tremendously.  I recommend it to family and friends.  Anyone who plays sports it helps the knee pain.

Hello!

 Beautiful Sunday here in Southern California started my day with a very  long walk this morning now getting ready to finish up some work whichneeds to be in by midnight.  Yesterday went a lil over the cals with good foods nothing bad just over ate.  I am OK.  Today had the best Greek Salad I have ever had it was perfect after my walk.

I am planning on a light dinner have not though of what it will be but it will be light.

Tomorrow I have already mapped out a hike for the day packed my backpack and I am out of here all day.  I really want to purchase bike wouldn't that be funCool

rebbex stars are just skin and bones on one of my walks I saw Sally Fields she is very thin I guess they all are.

Well I ready for my morning walk right after I eat some blackberries, grapefruit and I don't what else at the moment.  Man I am glad I am BACK!

Good Morning to all, Well this morning did do my walk to farmers market.  I am getting ready for an afternoon walk.  I had a yam for breakfast.  Lunch will be a salad with carrot and celery.  I have been keeping close eye on my calorie intake.  I believe doing that will help tremendously.

Good Morning everyone.  I need motivation since October 08 I find that I am slippingSurprised I think it is more the stress that is keeping me from losing! You think? I have started my calorie tracker which I believe will help me out tremendously.  I have started walking again since the weather is just right.  Ok weather in southern California is always great for walking.... see, excuses!Foot in mouth I need motivation pull me out of this house off my butt! MOTIVATE ME! I know with age it is not going to come off as easy.  But, if I watch the calories closely I will see a difference.

Good Morning, Since October 08 I have gained 14 lbs.  I am so angry.  I have started watching calories and keep with a walking schedule.  It has been very stressful around here with family being laid-off from their jobs and another days cut.  But, we continue to help each other.

SOMEBODY has to come and take me out of here or I just lock myself up in the house all day! I have to get out and walk.  Please push me out of here!Frown

Hello again!Kiss I have been gone for a while but now I'm back and ready to shake off some pounds.  I have maintained at 190-199 keeping cals low because I have gone back to school and not being as active as I was in the beginning.  I will graduate in FEB 2010 and I would like to drop another 20lbs.  Please advice

Hey, Everybody HAPPY NEW YEAR... No, I haven't forgotten my friends.  I have been doing pretty good, I did gain 7lbs during the holidays you know Christmas and my birthday.  I had wine a couple of martinis and goodies not much only enough to gain 7 lbs.Laughing  Moreover, I am glad it over and now I am done and it is time to get serious...

I have signed up for a nutrition class, and I love it.  I trust, it helps me lose the weight.  You know one can read all CC offers but when you have to write an essay and do discussion questions that really helps you to in understanding nutrition.

Munsey you are still looking good on the bike!

I take my long walks more than I visit the Gym.  My plan is visit the gym twice a week for a lil change.

Today no walking have a lil spasam on my back I am in some pain right now doing some streaching and heat.

Good Morning to all, Betty Jo you are doing great!!!!!! Keep it up.  I lost my two lbs and going for that 3lbs to report on Sunday.  Didn't go walking this morning had a muscle spas on my back last night and man does that hurt I have some heat on it right now and stretching I feel Yell pain.  I'll be taking some Motrin soon cause I can not take this much longer.

As for the water I am drinking has helped drop the weight. eating leafy veggies and chicken.  Had some peanuts for my snack.  Been going around pricing for bike.  I would like to be able to ride a bike and still doing my walking.

Good Morning! Wow, great day for a long walk not to hot yet and not to cold this morning.  I had a wonderful weekend my daughter and kids arrived with a surprise visit from Hollister. We had a great time.  I kept everyone eating lot of vegetables and fruits.  One day of taco's (home made) No, I didn't go eat any I had chicken and veg.

Well down 2 more lbs I am on a roll.  This week I need to visit the gym for some weight lifts.  Mum's you do look beautiful.
