I was having a similiar problem, I am also on a 1500, but I was only eating around 1000.  You need to add the extra calories in if you can...just by adding a banana in there, that is an extra 100 calories...protein is also great!  But you do need to find ways to sneak in those extra ones, eating 5 small meals is a great way to do it...good luck!
