Hey everyone! First off thanks for the motivation!! I am down .5 lb this week to 180.5. It's not much, but I suppose I'll take it because this weekend was my birthday. I'm getting back into the swing of working out a lot more. I am going home in 3 weeks and don't really need those comments from my mother about my weight. My goal for this week is to do a minimum of 210 min. of cardio (already at 105 min so hopefully I'll surpass that) and eat more in the morning and less in the evening. Hope yall all have a good week! I am for the first time ever living in a place where Fall is acutally a season and it is wonderful!! |

I am down .5 lb to 180.5 It's not much but I'll take it because my birthday was this weekend and I ate more than normal.

Just what I need. I hope yall have tips on how to have an active social life (and drink) and lose weight haha I'm a sophomore. I didn't really gain my freshman year until april and graduation parties. Now I'm back and I've already put on 5 lbs since I hace been back. That can not happen.

I'm in college but I have a couple things to try and control my eating. I was just reading a article about how studying makes you want to eat. Sometimes you just have to but heres some healthy things I try to do. It seems like when you are trying to not snack/eat that is when you want more. 1) Cucumber slices with garlic hummus. Cucumber is supposed to be calming or something and it feels you up and you can eat a lot. 2) Cup of brewed chai tea w/ some sugar and milk 3) Gum 4) Keep a big glass of water w/ lemon by you |

Hello I hope yall all are having a nice weekend. I was worse than I had hoped to be , but it could of been even worse. Yesterday I planned on having guacamole to snack on but as soon as I got to the tailgate I dropped it on the pavement :( I brought bottled water so I didnt consume so much alcohol. I did better at the tailgate but we went out to a party afterwards and then it was beer...Too much. And to make that even worse on the way home we stopped and got Whataburger! I did go get up and go for a run Saturday morning. I guess we will just try and be better next weekend. I know everyone else is writing about how good they have been. I just wanted to write about my slip ups in order to confess and hope to do better next weekend so I hope that it is allright if I do that.

Hi thank yall for all the response. I'm trying to be good this weekend, well a lot better than I have been. I'm in college and tailgating for the football games is huge. We start at about 1 and are there till 11. I'm sure thats where that extra 3 lbs. came from because you can consume too much beer in that time span. Tomorrow I am going to have maybe one beer and a few whiskey and cokes. The guys BBQ all day I think I'm going to bring something relatively healthy to snack on. I love BBQ but maybe I'll try and stick to something leaner. Does anyone know if dove would be a good choice?? inittowinit1- I think are goals are similar. I'm 5'11" and I like myself at 170 but I'm shooting for 160 more long term. carolally- Thanks for the advice about the cals. You have a good point about if you start low you have nowhere to go. |

This is inspiring to see girls who are similar to me. I am 5'11" and 181 which is my highest weight. I am usually between 173-175. I want to get down to 158. I have been limiting myself to 1200 calories and think I should be able to eat more. I am thinking about upping my cal intake. I think I have made my metabolism go very slow and when the weekends come my body stores everything I eat. |

| i am exactly where you are. i excersize everyday ive been doing a minimum of 45 min. of cardio usually on the treadmill. ill run a 9 min mile and then do some intervals like 2 at 7.5 them 5 a 6 or 4 if im tired. if i dont do that i go on a hour long fast walk through hilly terrain. i haven't been lifting that much so i think i might try and up that.
as far as food i haven't been eating over 1300 this week. ive tried higher and ive tried lower so i don't know what the deal is. it is so frustrating when u are working and counting and no change. im also not that far into my weight loss. i lost about 4 lbs and then i got frustrated and gained 2 and now ive been stuck at 173 for like 3 weeks. the only consolidation is that my body fat % is still 17.6, but that is still just a # i know i can shape up more. |

| i play soccer too. my sophomore year i tried south beach diet during soccer season. for phase one it was a BAD idea. since u eat no carbs i had like no energy. soccer games are long and intense. i would get tired and dizzy on the field and i was in good shape. when i came off i felt like i was going to pass out. with all that working out i would eat a little more bc u dont want to let ur team down bc ur dieting and run out of energy. i am always my slimmest during season. my tip make sure u eat enough a couple of hours before the game or an intense practice and cut back on dinner. | |||

| im a little tall for this but i didnt see a 5'10 and up club lol im 6' (but i usually tell ppl im just 5'11) i slipped up since march and gained about 15 lbs in total. my highest weight was 175 (after thanksgiving) now i am at 171. my goal is 155. i count calories and am trying to loose the weight the healthy way. im 18. i was wondering what yall aim for your daily calorie intake? im still trying to find where i can eat to loose 1 lb a wk. last wk my avg was about 1200 but that didnt feel like that was enough to keep up w/ my pretty active days. i didnt even loose , very frustrating. |

| I wish I realized I needed to eat more healthy when I was 16. I'm 18 now theese last few months I have been trying to get a healthy relationship with food. I started dieting in 7th grade. I 5'11" so I always weighed more than my small friends and I put a complex on myself. Jump forward to 2006. I really started to binge and starve around March. At first it was just so I could look good in my bikini at spring break I was at 158 and wanted to get to 150. I didn't get there in a week because it's not possible but after i got back I was so hungry i started to just eat to where i couldn't stop. My weight jumped up 10 DAMN pounds to 168 in a month. I wouldnt let myself go out because i felt so ashamed. So i tried to diet the unhealthy way some more. All summer my weight was between 168 to 173. Before school started this year I just couldn't take it bc i was just getting fatter and fatter. So i started to starve myself by only drinking water and like coffee thur, fri, and sat to try and loose weight. By sunday i was starving and i would just eat all day. During the weekend i would be really grumpy and it effected my mood, my skin got bad, and i got depressed. Now i am counting my calories at fitday.com and that has really helped me alot!!!!!! I try never to go below 1200 or your metabolism will slow and never above 2000. 3500 calories = a lb. So i try and cut out 3500 cal. a week. I lost 4 pounds and i feel so much better that when i wasn't eating. I feel like my oldself again which there is nothing better!! I am up 1 lb this week like u and i ate healthy so i have no idea wtf its for. BUt im not gonna let one lil lb stop me. Maybe next wk itll just show im down too and maybe youll be down below 140 too!! Maybe it was the alcohol bc that can make ur water weight go up. Especially if it was beer that always makes me feel bloated. Have u tried taking measurements that helped motivate me at my fattest bc sometimes u loose inches before lbs. As for those a$$h0le guys don't pay attention bc once ur thin and confident those are gonna be the guys u r rejecting!!! Stick with eating the healthy way!! hope this helps its really long.
