| The mixup was not in this 50 group it was in another.
I have been told why I was ask not to post there- no big deal- no hard feeling. It was my misunderstanding as I thought it was the same as c.c. and it was a food thread. Come to find out it was a female thread for other things- that surely doesn't interest me-- been there done that-and that part of my life is over, done and great to get rid of it. PMS and all. Some parts of life gets better with age. |

| Hey thanks- for the handy hints. Next question- (I've got a bunch) would it be better to ask her and get different ideas--or pm someone and just bug them and only them? haha OK do you also go by carbs, and how many a day or is it just calories that you count? I am a diabetic and some carbs are worse enemy than sweets then again some fruits bother me. So do you have the system of so many of the fruits, or trade it for something else? Guess what I need is someone to feed me, L.O.L. I don't see a getting to know me form- do you use one? I know more questions. Savarabbit- Carrot my favorite vegetable- like carrot cake! Biking is one of the things I love to do, swimming,my exercise class and walking. We have a new bike and hiking trail not finished with it yet. Will be 50 miles long when done. Carole- I like the connection between money and calories. Maybe I can figure this out. I do know eating healthy is a mind challenge and it takes 14 days to get a mind change. 14 days to break an old habit so that means only 14 days to get a good habit. Make the mind up and the body will so follow, then just hope it doesn't play tug of war. Don't see any wabbits here only my dear dust bunnies. Love me dust bunnies and I name them. Never get that noisy thing out of my closet that sucks them up- soo sad. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! So you all have senior moments- me it's CRS. haha Guess I'll go see what's for dinner.OH- that's another thing- do you all post menu here. What you eat and the amount? I know everyone is different but just wondered if you did. Great news they have opened the H.W. in all directions out of town-but South. We can get out now- hummm but I have no where to go! |

| So this is where the God children will be hanging out? Will this be a motivational thread, challenges, chapel or all rolled into one.
I'm a bit confused I just joined c.c. a few days ago and have been looking around. The first one that put out the Welcome matt- has also moved - is this a rule- stay for so long then move or why is it done? The other thread also closed to new members I was the last to be taken in- 20 members-I don't understand and where do I find rules and what to eat? Thank you for posting agout the lettuce, and some of the other hints on how to eat- another question-the water- my heart Dr. tells me to try to drink 100 oz of water a day and I see someone says to much is dangerous- is that from a Dr.-c.c. or who? Just wondering. Talk to you all later-or is this by invitation only? Hope I'm not asking to many questions- but just go-ta know. |

| I really don't have time to address each one of you but wanted to drop this off. Do we have vultures circling in our lives?
Received this today, thought I'd share it with everyone. Since it's pretty rare to see an eagle in our area, I've had to settle for another bird that at least soars like an eagle. They're the turkey vultures that I see circling overhead so often. I actually love to watch their gracious flight. I hate to think about their repulsive diet, though. As you know, those vultures like to chow down on dead animals. Wherever you see vultures, you can pretty well assume there's a carcass somewhere nearby. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Getting Rid of Your Vultures." Too many of us have vultures circling us. Not the airborne variety, but the emotional and spiritual vultures that keep preying on us: those old fears that keep coming back, the memories of the pain of your past, old bitternesses, old sins, or old hurts. Maybe some of the vultures of your life have continually cast a shadow over you; they've made you depressed, disabled, discouraged. Thanks to my friend Erwin Lutzer, I've been thinking about a way to get rid of those vultures. Dr. Lutzer's suggestion goes something like this: the vultures go elsewhere when the carcasses are removed! Good! If you take the steps to remove some of the dead stuff that the vultures love to feed on, maybe you can finally get free of them. If you can deal with the root of some of those old fears and failures and hurts, they don't have to paralyze you; they don't have to eat you anymore. That's some of what God has in mind in our word for today from the Word of God in Hebrews 12:1. He tells us to "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." In order to run without continually tripping up, we've got to get rid of the things we continually trip over! Or, remove the carcasses that the vultures of Satan continually latch onto. Those carcasses usually trace back to some painful things that have happened to us in our past: a family breakup, abuse, a home that really wasn't a home, a family that wasn't a family, abandonment, or some personal failure. That's the carcass. Now, obviously, you can't just pretend it never happened. But there are steps you can take - courageous steps - that will help "throw off" this thing that has hindered and entangled you for so long. You have to be sick and tired of the vultures winning. You have to really want to be free, and then you'll finally tackle the unpleasant but liberating job of removing that carcass. How do you do it? You stop running from that pain in your past; you turn and face it. You recruit some people to be your daily prayer partners to help you beat this. You determine to throw everything at this old carcass - to do whatever it takes to remove it. You bite the bullet, you take the risk, and you seek godly counsel with someone who can walk through all that pain with you and lead you through some healing steps. You ask God for the strength to forgive the person who hurt you as Jesus forgave the people who crucified Him. You forgive, not to get them off the hook, but to get you off the hook that keeps you tied to that person that you don't forgive. Is it hard to do what it takes to remove that carcass from your past? Oh, yes it is. But you can in the Bible's words, "do all things through Christ who gives you strength" (Philippians 4:13). Yes, you can. Jesus said of His personal mission, "The Lord has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted." And it may be that some of the broken pieces inside of you that have haunted you for so long are waiting the touch of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the thing that is at the source of all the pain and hurt in the world - human sin - yours and others. And today He's waiting to remove and forgive yours and begin a healing deep inside your heart. He'll live in your heart; He'll come into your heart at your invitation. |

| I have a concern tonight. I live in a small farm community in Ks and we are having a flood. They have evacuated many of the people here. now they are closing the H.W. around us. I don't think we will be in danger where I live but many of our famlies, friends, are in harms way. Please help me to pray and lift my corcern up to God. And as I uplift my fears to God may I remember this.
Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the sea, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals. Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. ?Are you a good farm hand?? the farmer asked him. ?Well, I can sleep when the wind blows,? answered the little man. Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man?s work. Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand?s sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, ?Get Up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!? The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, ?No sir, I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows.? Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew. MORAL OF THIS STORY When you?re prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm. We secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves in the Word of God. |

Thank goodness we live in the high end of town. Of course it's only 2 miles from one end to the other. Can't remember them closing all the hw before, but then again when we hit this age our CRS- kicks in. "Can't remember ----! " Could be stuff? Hey biker- what the routine for the exercise? Glad you came to check this out. Don't think I have jumped ship- never!. I'll get some sheets off sometime this next week. Thanks for the good luck- so far I love this eating and counting. Not hard at all, at first I thought -"Oh boy what have I gotten myself into?" But love it. So tired of the same old stuff. Not knocking the outcome you know we all have done GREAT on it,but ready for a change and this so far is just what I'm looking for. Had a piece of brownie tonight and no guilt feeling at all. Hope some of the other gals come check it out. I'm not trying to get anyone to change, it works for some and it did me,but just need a break. |

| Dustymoose? Where did you come up with that one? I wanted to be Kansas gal- but I put it in the wrong place. Have you looked around? I'm in another 50 group but got in just under the wire-they closed the group. Who ever opens a thread can close when they get enough members. They have somewhere around 50 and I'm the new kid on the block. There were two of us that joined yesterday and they closed as soon as we got there. Hey so glad you joined me. I think I'm really going to like this- you can eat anything. My friend that I stayed with last week is doing great with this. Want a cheat sheet? she paid big bucks for the Dr. to send her somewhere and show her what and how to eat-- it's looks the same as here.
Well we're heading to friends to play pegs and jokers- see you back home and hope you stick here with me to. |

| There was a little boy setting at the side of the road, looking at the farmers corn field. The farmer came by and said " what are you doing"? "Are you getting ready to steal my corn" OH No, said the little boy I'm just setting here trying to talk myself out of steal your corn! Isn't that what we do? We go to places that sell things that we are tempted to eat. Say pizza, why do we go to a place and want to talk our self out of reaching for a piece. It would be wiser to go somewhere that serves a nice salad, grilled chicken and baked potato. Why do we want the temptation of the pizza in front of us as we walk through the front door? A little boy gets ready to start his day. His father says "Do not go to the river and swim" That evening the boy comes home with a wet bathing suit! Where have you been the father asks. I went swimming at the river! Well I told you not to. Why did you even take a bathing suit to the river after I told you not to swim? Well just to see if I could resist temptation! Is out cupboards full of temptations? Are we testing ourself to see if we can resist? The kitchen mouse is tempted with the cheese on the mouse trap. He knows not to reach for it, but like us he can't resist temptation. He knows if he gives in, he could really be in trouble. Most of the time his temptations leads him to a bad end. Is our temptations leading us to a bad ending? How do you resist temptation? Each one of us are different. Each one has our own ways of trial and errors. One of my favorite things is to carry my before picture. when I have the temptations, take it out and look at it. That can really snap me back to the " leave it be mode" Would you share your "How to avoid temptations?" |

| The Potter's Wheel
When you?re troubled and discouraged In the darkness of the night When obstruction clouds your vision And you just can't see the light. When life?s trials overcome you And you have nowhere to turn When you?ve reached the very bottom There are lessons you must learn. For the clay is being molded It?s been twisted, pulled and tossed It?s been rolled and it?s been pounded Till the ego has been lost. He will put you through the furnace You?ll be tested to the brim Your life will be in pieces Till you give your soul to Him. From blemish to perfection His hands will form the clay This human piece of rubble Must let God have His way. When you come to Him all battered In the form of mortal man When you cry to Him in mercy You will find the Potter?s hand. He will grind you, mold and chisel The friction you will feel Till He gently carves and shapes you Upon the Potter?s wheel. | Just passing through and wanted to say hi. Great chapel you have here- mind, body, and spirit working to regain the healthy body through Christ. Great idea. In Jesus we trust in Jesus our prayers will be answered. Psalm 20:4 " May He grant your hearts desires and make all your plans succeed." I need to put my faith in his word. "make my plans successful" He says we can- if we trust in him. So is my desire to do or to just think about doing? If I am really going to make this plan work, if I have the burning desire to reach goal, I must trust and do, not disbelieve. |

Tug of war is your internal desire to self sabotag- do I -don't I-- should I -shouldn't I ? We know the correct answer, but it's the desire to do what we want- not what we need. Do you have a tug of war going on inside of you? FACT-Few people are exempt from this frustrating fact of life! Here are a few signs of self sabotag You think up excuses why you don't have time. You procrastinate You have feelings of anger and resentment. You often feel discouraged and give up. You lose weight only to regain you do the closet eating never eating with others. You are at a stand still as you watch others reach their goal. This is what I'm going to work on this week end. How to avoid self sabatog. Anyone have any more suggestions on a week end plan? |

| So do you have a weigh in day here or just do your own thing? How about measuring do you do that? Still haven't read from page one- had company and never got anything done maybe I'll get at it tomorrow. Today is the last day of my fat life. Change the mind and the body will follow. It's all a mind game- same as smoking. I quit 6 yrs ago. Want to know how I did it? Well I'll tell you anyway. I had a heart attack- yep I was a pro on how to quit- done it many times. It was the staying quit I didn't get done. Sooo if you want to quit on your own same as over eating. Change the mind, if not- well guess heart attack is the most permanent I love to exercise and I walked 3 miles today in an hour. I also have a senior exercise group that is great. They can out -do the young people and kick higher and walk faster, great bunch to keep up with. One of my walkers is 85 and walks two miles- no resting ,never sets till she's done. I'll be lucky to be crawling at that age. Going to take me awhile to get names and people straight. Also a while to get around and figure out the way this all works. Also what the icons mean at the top- like after you post can you edit? How do you copy and paste here? Does anyone belong to America on the move? Here's the link if you want to check it out. | Hi everyone
Well guess I got under the fence before the gate was closed. I also started a new thread because I was not sure I knew how to get here, but anyway here I am. Do you have a getting to know me form to fill out? Well I've been called a lot of things but never shy. haha OK now the fun part of trying to find how and what to do. Guess I got my before picture up and running . The pictures were taking July 06- then Dec 07- when I had lost and before I gained some back. When I first started loosing I was 204- then down to 148- now 174. Yep yo-yo so it's time to eat smart and the best way I can think of is learn to control my calories. I can't seems to copy and paste here, what am I doing wrong? Need some help also with the icons at the top of this page-- what is "strike through", and HTM? Is there a way to post pictures on this thread? Do you come and chat daily? Do you belong to several groups? OK so I'm a green horn but I learn fast. L.O.L. Now guess I'll go back from day one and learn what I can- any suggestions? |
