Thanks for putting that list together!

I love caramel macchiatos, but what would the cals be for a tall if I used the sugar free syrup?  I know there has to be something else in it that makes it taste so yummy!

I made some awesome soup the other day.

I cut up some butternut squash, an onion, a couple cloves of garlic, and a carrot and put them on a cookie sheet.  I drizzled them with a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper. I roasted them for about 1/2 hour ro 40 minutes until they were nice and soft, and then I pureed them in the blender with chicken stock (can use vegetable too, but I had some the chicken stock opened in my fridge)  it was quite yummy, in fact I think i will make some more tomorrow!

What about framing a nice picture of you and her and she can put it in her dorm room.  It would be a gift that comes from the heart, those really are the best kind!

We actually didn't fly into Cambodia.  We took a bus from Bangkok to the Thai/Cambodian border and then a taxi to Siem Reap.  I think it was about a full days travel, but worth it if a flight to Bangkok is cheaper.  There is a bus that leaves from Kho San Road to the border!

Check out the Thorn Tree forum on the lonely planet website.  Loads of great information and you can ask millions of questions!

I have travelled to Asia (cambodia, Laos, norther Thailand) and have had no trouble with the language.  You will always find someone who speaks English, and in my experience the locals try so hard to please tourists (not sure if its the same in Vietnam).|
Even if you use hand gestures you can generally get your point across.

Do learn the basics, Hello, good bye, thank you etc, the locals love it when you try to speak their language.

Oh.... i am so jealous, I want to come with you!

oh yeah, and good advice from sharpey about leaving a copy of passport etc with someone.  I like to scan them and send then to my email just in case I need them last minute....

In some countries they actually willingly eat those!

When I was in Thailand they have street vendors selling deep fried bugs of every variety, and peoply buy them by the bag full and munch away on them all day long.   Eww, I just couldn't bring myself to try them!

Try having a cup of baby carrots in a cup nearby when you are cooking, or chew a piece of gum.  Or I like to have a diet soda when I am cooking so I don't snack and I find it fills me up a bit too.

As for snacking, measure out 100-200 calorie portions of whatever it is you like to snack on and keep them handy for when the craving hits.  Make sure it fits into your calorie requirement for the day.....

Before bed, I like to have a cup of earl grey tea, with 1/2 cup of skim milk and a tbsp of sugar free vanilla syrup.  Its great for sweet cravings and I like to have a hot drink in the evening!
