| Fitness | Anybody here is anti-social and hates jogging or walking outdoors where people watch you? | Oct 04 2009 06:13 (UTC) |

I have never minded the walking part, but the running part yes! I do my run after I get off work at midnight and then I don't have to worry about many people out and about. I also agree that I only work out when I have the house to myself. I'll stretch when the family is at home... but situps and anything else only occurs when I'm home alone or the husband and kids are still sleeping. I wonder why it is that we can't "better" ourselves and let our loved one's see it.... just plain self concious? I will say that since my running skills have improved, and since I have a wonderful play list... I think less about passing cars and more about the music and how I feel. I still don't like to stop running if there are cars around though... which sometimes makes me push myself harder! Good luck to you all who are in this battle!! |

I know the feeling you're having!! Within the last 6 months I am finally able to determine the brand I like and what to do with each brand!! Don't give up... what brand did you buy? Nancy's is the one I can't fix it's way too sour for me! .... I LOVE High Mountain though!! I like a couple of the others... but this is the one I can actually enjoy plain if I need to. I put cinnamon in my yogurt EVER TIME! I love it, plus they say it's an antioxidant. My flavor of choice is the sweetener that comes from the cactus... Blue agave or agave necter. It's said to be low glycemic and it's tastes great for a small amount of calories. Plus a little goes a long way! The other addition that I totally love is frozen cherries. I put them in frozen, it keeps cold on my way to work, and when I'm ready to eat it... the cherries are melted and their juice has sweetened my yogurt also!! Don't give up... you will find a way that you LOVE plain yogurt!!!! And congrats for the switch! Try a different brand and see if you can find the small containers versus the big one's until you find a brand you like. www.howtomakeyogurt.com <------- I will try this too!!! |

I do this too! I've been eating sandwiches on 9 grain bread for two weeks on my work days! I also cut carrots and use them in either tuna dip or salmon dip for a small meal. I always take the same staple items with me to work and eat them for weeks at a time... til I get bored. Yogurt with cherries and cinnamon is my new one... eating it all the time though! I find that eating this way does help my grocery bill though.... |

Don't forget about the pouches of Tuna and Salmon! Those are quick and easy and no cooking required! Eat on a sandwich or dip like. There are cans of chicken and turkey also that you could add to the chili if you wanted more protein! :)
Good luck......
I would move ASAP ..... EWWWW I hate bugs too!!! |

| Foods | how can you eat healthy without an access to a kitchen? | Aug 30 2009 06:00 (UTC) |

The electric pot is a wonderful tool! Boil water and have oatmeal/cream of wheat for breakfast! The water can steam your veggies too! I would recommend it! You can get tuna or salmon in those pouches that don't need to be refridgerated! Those are wonderful in salads, on bread, used as a dip for carrots and raw veggies, or on crackers if you needs the carbs. Your little pot can also make you tea, coffee, soups, anything you need hot water for! Plug it in, and in less than 4 minutes (usually) you'll have boiling hot water! Those little pots are amazing and easy to hide if you need to!!! :) |

That will help, but I still would love to see how many calories are listed at the end of each meal section.
I also agree that number of meals would be a great idea for those of us eating 4-6 mini meals each day!!! |

You should buy a juicer and some fruit! I have to ask.... do you ever get nasty headaches? All that fake sweetener would be the cause if you do. I can't use much fake stuff. One diet soda or one serving of crystal light and I"m done for 48 hours. Talk about upset stomach and nasty headaches if I have any more than that! |

junk food ...... unlimited soda..... baked cookies all the time...... as a kid. Weighed 114 in the 4th grade! Always been bigger.... My body just stored the fat I think. When I don't eat sugar foods..... I'm not always hungry. I don't eat that crap anymore though!!! And now I struggle to eat more food that's good for me, and I'm not always hungry like I used to be on sugar binges.

lasagna or a pasta dish? You can make them the night before and just bake them when you're ready. You could make turkey! Who says it has to be thanksgiving? Lamb would be nice, but spendy I think. How about homemade healthy pizza's? Forget meat and cheese! Go for veggie or chicken pizza's. Stuffed mushrooms, stuffed tomatoes, stuffed bell peppers (usually rice and ground beef). Meat loafs, sweet and sour meatballs? That could fun! I've seen those at a wedding before! Nice sized meatballs with the sweet and sour sauce with chunks of onion, green pepper, and pineapple served with rice. Chili (any kind) Savory waffles ............................... ok now I'm making myself hungry! ha ha |

| Weight Loss | do I eat all the calories, even if I am not hungry? | Aug 23 2009 07:57 (UTC) |

Today I am forcing myself to eat something. I was hungry when I got up, ate oatmeal with almond milk and raisins and I haven't been hungry since. So I forced myself to eat a handful of almonds around lunch time and then I forced myself to eat half a pb and j sandwich. It's dinner time now and I'm still not hungry but I am forcing myself to eat some raw veggies (no dip). I don't usually have to force myself to eat at all :( I'm 5'8 and 194lbs trying to lose weight and CC says that I should eat 1850 per day. I can't get past 1700 EVER because I'm only hungry first thing in the morning.... I don't get it. I ran a mile last night and I don't usually do that so maybe that's part of my problem today? I don't know.... |

My at home exercises are all using as many muscle groups as I can with my 8lbs. I will get new dumb bells but that's what I have to work with right now. I'll sit in a deep lunge and lift them in several different movements before moving on. I make sure that I'm getting the benefit. <------- I sweat!!! And I feel it the next day! I consistantly eat about 1500 calories without trying. That's what I feel full on and that was supposed to be a nice deficit to lose weight. But that's where I'm stuck. So far I have.... eat more fiber, eat more food, and get heavier weights. Please keep the feedback coming! And I would love to have someone near my stats post their analysis so that I can actually see someone elses! |

I'm hooked on green tea with pomegrante !!!! No sweetener required! Hot or cold it's so good! I just don't know what brand it is :( black and green box. Lipton made a vanilla caramel in their new triangle shaped teas... that one's really good and takes place of desert for me! I do like vanilla chai too though. |

I have a strong stomach... and made it to page 4 I believe.... I sat here eating my dinner... thinking "WOO HOO I'm eating so good!" Until I got to the icecream with berries and brownies.... now all I want is vanilla ice cream with berries.. luckily I brought berries and plain yogurt (I'm at work) and I'm hoping that will kill that stupid craving! ha ha Great link! I think I will bookmark it and look again when I'm feeling like I need to eat junk... cause I think it will turn my stomach a bit then like it did tonight. |

Yes, the cholesterol is from eggs! :) I"m eating fruits, veggies, whole grain bread (with flax) yogurt, lean meats, and an occasional sweet treat in moderation. I am eating pretty darn clean. Carrot sticks replace crackers and chips. The only thing I have not yet kicked is the cream/sugar in my coffee... but I don't use much. I don't eat ANY of the processed "diet" foods and I don't use any of the fake sweeteners. My weights at home is something to do to make myself MOVE on the days it's pouring down rain. I make my 8lb dumb bells WORK believe you me! I make sure I feel it the next day. Fiber though.... I will work on that and pay attention to it. |
