That's happened to me, too :) I think sometimes our bodies go to sleep a bit, metabolism wise, so if you wake it up with a bit of hard work and effort it goes the extra mile for you ;) Enjoy it!

Suggesting someone who is ill with flu goes to a walk-in clinic is ridiculous - the government has specifically said we shouldnt go to our GPS or to clinics to help stop the spread of the disease. And having someone who has flu sitting in a walk-in clinic is also mad - all the people coming in and out would be succeptable to it, which is really selfish. I don't know what planet you live on where making other people sick - people who may already be ill or elderly or children,  just so you can see a GP is a good idea.

Kiltias - you do know I am in bed? As in - can't drive myself anywhere, let alone sit in a walk in centre all day shivering, coughing and sneezing. I have friends who can take me to my nearest GP, but not take me miles and miles to other GPs, which I have rung and are all booked up, anyway.

It's definately not the worst flu I've had - It's kinda like a really bad cold but makes you really really tired and feeling strange.

I have written down the names of the antiemetics you recommend and am currently forcing a friend to get them for me :) You are a star- thankyou!

Any excuse to stay in bed and watch DVD boxsets is good, too ;) I was going to get someone to take me for a walk, but am really worried about passing it on to people - I don't think I'd be very popular with my friends!!

Thanks again :)

I would ask my GP, but as I said - it's impossible to contact any doctor in the UK right now, we are so swamped. Two weeks is the current waiting time :/ I'll get a friend to ask the pharmacist for domperidome :) The Tamiflu packet doesn't say it reacts with very much, so thats a great idea, thanks :D

I've got a sore throat, cough, thick horrible orangey snot and terrifying sneezing, headache, extreme tiredness, loss of appetite (you should see how much chocolate and biscuits i've had to hide from my worrying family) and nausea :3 Hooray!

Health & Support laxatives? Jul 23 2009

Your body can easily become dependant on laxatives.

That is a really really bad thing. Seriously.

Don't use them unless you really really have to. They are not to be used to "flushout" or to lose weight.

There is no way you can lose 5lbs in 5 days - unless you really are obese. Just alter the dress, drink lots of water, and take it slowly.

If you starve yourself, you will binge. It's a mistake I made in the first month of my diet, too. Just take it slow, eat less but sensibly, and don't get yourself worked up. It's really not worth it.

I used to be a chunky lady! Just basically do alot of light impact exercises - it was better for me to do more walking than less over strenuous stuff, and cut down to whatever the CC tools say :) You'll get there - it takes time :)

I often say "I have", too. Sometimes I laugh it off and do a twirl. It's a funny thing when people comment on it, but not in a complimentary way - just as a statement.

Hey M,

I am the same age as you, but a LOT shorter (*sobs quietly*) and had the same trouble for ages and ages - I was working really hard, feeling fit, feeling like I should be losing, but nothing happened.

Then I bought a set of digital scales - and oh man, had I been eating more than I thought. Things like pasta, potato and the like, I would just do it by eye, and I realised I'd reaaaaaaalllly gone over what I thought I was eating. As soon as I started weighing nearly everything I put in my gob and logging it I started to really lose weight super fast!!

Don't be disheartened! Somethings just a bit off, you'll work it out :)

Indeed :( I think the photo was taken in the summer when the place was being renovated - we wouldn't leave our door open on a busy street like that. Means people are seeing it online though and thinking we are an east target. Great.

"This fat"? You are not fat, and it's insulting to people on this forum that you'd say so. Good luck with the career, it's the most important thing, after all! Ha.

Weight Loss HELP IM RUINING MY BODY, binge eating etc. eating disorders Mar 19 2009

When you weight under 120lbs at your height, your body WILL fight with you to make you eat more. It's not healthy to be that low weight, and of course you will have the urge to binge - you can't hurt yourself and expect your body not to react.

Why not try to tone up and build muscle to get a skinner look and burn fat, rather than depriving your body? Just eat healthy and well, your health is the most important thing, when it all boils down to it.

Sorry I'm so late - been having a bit of a university project dilemma, and only just found some time to myself!

Starting weight (for the challenge): 137

(Optional) Goal for final weigh-in: 133

Age: 22

Height: 5ft 6

03/07/09- 135.8 (I have been walking like crazy for more than two hours a day since Tuesday - walking is awesome)
03/19/90 - 135.6 (Rubbish loss :( Too much emotional eating)

Foods Favorite Diet Foods Mar 11 2009

Sparkling water, low fat hummous, small packs of veggie soup, beans, cottage cheese, melba toast (great crunched up and added to soups like croutons), low fat greek yoghurt over some tinned fruit (omnomnomnom *dribbles*).

Of course, you can have anything you like in moderation! I had steak and mashed potato and mushy peas and cottage cheese and a glass of wine for my dinner yesterday - but not the massive portion size I used to! :)

Maintaining Defining the "Binge" Mar 08 2009
21:09 (UTC)

For me, a bingeis when I eat and eat to fill an emotional need - and I am not hungry. Usually it's things I would love to eat, and think will make me happy, but the guilt and lack of hunger makes it much less so. Eating a naughty treat isn't a binge - but when I order pizza big enough for a family and a whole host of sides, that is :/

Hee, yes it is a Zelda inspired name, journey :3 It's awesome when fellow geeky types notice :)

Thanks, bubbles :3 Yeah, it has been a long road, and a pretty slow one in comparison to many of the success stories on here - I have such terrible trouble with seeing food as a reward rather than fuel, and am always falling off the wagon! I can't wait til I start to maintain! I can have something naughty every day if I can be good with it - I really miss ice-cream, although this time round I'm going to weigh my portions and not just sit in front of the TV with a tub of Caramel Chew Chew ;) Although I find myself fond of veggies, too - I get through so much of the stuff as well :)

Well, it's Saturday morning here in good old England, so here goes:

It's so frustrating! I already had my dinner, and it was a healthy one, then I had a glass of wine then suddenly I was eating pizza and chocolate :(  Grrr. I am totally back on track, now - the day after I was a bit ill (I think it was dodgy pizza) so didn't eat much at all, and since then I've been eating a steady 1200, so hopefully I will be OK - I'm a little scared of stepping on the scales, but tomorrow is the big day, so I have to! :)

I need to avoid alcohol, I think. Once I drink even a tiny bit, it's like my body goes "screw the diet, have some fat :3!"

I used food as a treat much too much, and would binge on my favourite foods to make me feel "better" when sad. My parents brought me up on big dinners and few veg, so it was easy to become overweight.
