check and see what cc says you burn in a day.. probably about 1600 - 1700?? then when you add in 250 - 400 calories burned exercising.. that brings it up to 1850 (2000) - 1950 (2150) calories expended in a day.. so thats a deficit of 800 - 950 calories a day.. maybe try eating 1400 - 1500 for a bit.. on days you exercise.. see if that works.. sometimes just changing up the calories taken in will kick your metabolism.. or change up the type of exercise you are doing.. sometimes if you change your intake on a daily basis your body doesnt know what to do lol.. it doesnt get use to it.. like 1200 one day.. 1500 the next.. 1350 the next.. ya know what i mean?? there are soo many different ways you can try.. what you have to do is find the right area that works for you.. 1200 - 1300 calories?? and all that exercise? sounds to me (IMHO) that you arent eating enough, you are trying to cut back too much

It takes a lot of work and determination, I know.. I was thin as a board in high school.. then 7 pregnancies later (3 full term), and 18 yrs I topped out at 212. We moved to Hawaii (my husband is Military, and this is our 2nd time here) in May 2006, and i said ENOUGH!!! Enough of the yoyo'ing, Enough of not taking the time FOR ME.. ENOUGH!! By May of 2007 I was at 135 lbs. I did hit a low of 125 in Oct 2007, and everyone thought i was sick.. so I let it slide.. Plus my husband was home a bit more often and instead of allowing myself one cheat day a week, i found myself letting us go out to dinner more often, etc.. etc.. and then I quit exercising.. BAD MOVE.. since then, I have hung around 135 - 140, thankfully since i have gotten more on track with my eating (except this last weekend) it has been closer to 135. My MAIN issue is that I am REALLY small boned (my wrist is the same size as my 8 yr old daughter).. and when i lose weight, it seems to come off where i dont NEED it too.. which makes me look sick.. My STOMACH and my THIGHS are what need to lose it, and people say oh you are thin, you dont need to lose weight.. all they see are my skin and bones arms (from the elbow down to my finger tips I am QUITE thin looking) and my thin Lower legs.. they DONT SEE the parts I SEE!! Soooooooooooo... MY PLAN is to watch my food again til this back ache goes away then meet with the personal trainer at our community fitness center here in base housing, and see if SHE can help me.. (I know how to eat more protein less carbs, etcc... etc.. its just implementing that with a good exercise routine that will help me firm up those problem areas that has got me.. Whats YOUR plan??? Welcome to the group Both of ya :) we are all in the same boat here.. Hope someone sends us a life raft soon :P Most of us know WHAT to do, but lack motivation (MEMEMEME).. and some of us have the motivation but lack the restraint... then there are those who have the restraint but just cant seem to get it right.. Maybe if we throw us all together we can do this :) Sorry I am being silly today.. seriously though, if you wanna check out my last journal entry, (its a repost), maybe you can get some ideas there?? so, i am back on track with the food, after my awful weekend.. back is still achy but not quite as bad.. maybe soon i will be pain free?? its soo messed up though, i was feeling fine til i sat down here to type.. maybe its something to do with my posture when i am using my laptop??? grrrrrrrrr...

Good luck!! :) My kids went back to school today, whoooooooooohooooooo :) and I spent all morning (til lunch time) cleaning my house.. then got to relax for about 1 1/2 hours without worrying they were gonna come right behind me and mess it all back up :P lol.. but thats the extent of my exercise.. and my back is still achy..ugh... |

had my first bad weekend in a while :( started off with Mcdonalds friday night, then BBQ next door with cake and ice cream sat night, and today has just gone all to ..... my back has been bugging me for over a week now and i dont have a clue what i did to it.. everytime it seems like it quit hurting, the next day its back just as bad.. :( *SIGH* how am i ever suppose to get back on track... |

WELCOME TO FOODIES ANONYMOUS :P hehe.. nice that you had the weekend without the kids though.. :) I was doing good this weekend, til I stayed up late last night talking to my husband online, then i started snacking.. *UGH*... wasnt toooooo bad though.. had some toast with some pb & jelly.. then a cheese stick.. showed on the scale this morning, but I know it wasnt really enough to make me put on weight.. so maybe just a little bit too much sodium.. yada yada.. I still havent made an appt with the Personal Trainer.. My back is really aching.. or should i say my shoulder?? its located around my right shoulder blade.. Not sure what I could of done to it, except I noticed last night (or this morning) when I went to bed, I lay on that side, and kinda pop my shoulder forward... When I made myself lay flat on my back, it didnt hurt so much.. I dont know how long I should ache before I call my PCM.. Anyway EXACTLY ONE MORE WEEK til the kids start school!! WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! oh, and I havent had a Monster yet this morning (been up for an hour)...feeling about how I normally feel even if i do have one.. of course, there arent any in the house, so pretty easy to NOT have one haha..

yeah sophie.. not drinking enough water is a MAJOR mistake.. one, it helps you feel full.. two, it actually ups your metabolism, something about your body temp regulating to a cool glass of water.. three, it helps flush out all that nasty sodium.. I KNOW when to stop eating, I KNOW when I am FULL.. my problem is i LOVE good food too much :P thats why the best thing for me is making sure I have certain portains (why do i think thats spelled wrong? almost positive it is, but my brain isnt working lol) of food, and no extras available lol.. still 135 this morning.. cant complain, since i am only watching what i am eating, not actively trying to lose.. Kids go back to school in a week (and a day lol, yes i am counting them down)!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! maybe then I will do SOMETHING lol.. I cant wait just because it will give me 5 - 6 hours a day without saying stop this, do that.. go to your room.. go outside.. lol.. |

Hi Sophie :) Welcome :) heres looking forward to seeing some awesome posts from you working towards your goal :) Cassie - OMG no way could i walk into Golden Corral and not just stuff myself lol.. I have always seen eating out at restaurants as a big treat, and if i am going to pay for all that food, i am gonna leave full (which winds up being very uncomfortably full lol..) enjoy your 16 mile run :P and do your best with all the stuff you have to do this weekend!! hope you packed snacks for the 10 hour drive.. :) still havent gotten together with the personal trainer.. have a week til kids start school again (okay and an extra weekend) and I really want to be started on some kind of fitness plan then.. gotta get my tush in gear.. ugh.. and still havent broken the monster habit.. and still not getting enough water.. now my back is starting to bother me.. i am gonna fall apart before i can get myself back together again lol.. on the weight point. hanging at 135.. which is good.. i know once i get back into the water, and back into the fitness part of it, i CAN do this.. :) Hope everyone has a safe and HEALTHY weekend :) |

so the BBQ was put off til sunday.. but i was GREAT there (IMHO).. lol. I had one gourmet chicken sausage (110 cal approx), a slice of whole wheat bread to eat it on, a small spoon of potato salad, mac salad, and baked beans.. it was all very yummy, and i kept within my calories :) in fact, my weight finally dropped under 136 again.. 135.6 :) whooot :) so I am at least at my original weghtloss goal, now to get back to that 125 i hit before lol.. I have been conversing with the new personal trainer at our community fitness center via email the last two days (i know, i should just call her :P) and we are going to plan on me and the kids meeting her up at the park one day after one of her classes (no i dont wanna go to the class :P), and do an initial assessment. That way once the kids go back to school on aug 3rd, I can start meeting with her to work on my issues :) its something like $5 for the initial assessment, and i guess about the same for each "meeting" after?? since she was hired by our housing they pay her a salary so its cheaper for us?? i cant wait, i really want someone to show me/tell me what to do, how to do, and hopefully see some serious results in my muscle tone in the months to come.. Sherry - you KNOW you can do it, you just gotta hold yourself accountable for everything you eat. we all know how to .. Cassy is it right, its just the execution we have issues with lol.. Cassy - i bet its been nice spending time with the hubby without the kids.. My husband took Leave before they left and while the kids were in school we went and did stuff alone that we normally wouldnt do with the kids.. We even went on a horseback ride (guided trail) one morning.. and much to my enjoyment we were the only two booked for the ride :) i had a blast. :) ... in fact i will post a pic in a minute.. and yeah i was pretty happy about the blizzard not being that good lol. it was a large, and he had only eaten a few bites, theres no way i would ever eat a large ANYHOW lol.. wtg on your 27:55 time!! lol i think my only 5k was 42 min haha.. |

another few days have gone by.. still hanging around 135 ish.. met a friend and her kids thursday with my kids to see Harry Potter.. they all wanted DQ.. luckily she and hers had gotten there first, and her son didnt want the rest of his Tagalong blizzard, so i took it.. and had a couple bites.. BLECH.. didnt really like it, and i LOVE Tagalongs lol.. so that saved me eating something i REALLY shouldnt of.. Did buy myself a pretzel (no salt) and ate it during the movie.. wasnt a bad food day though. I just know I need to start adding that water in and SOOON I should be able to add some exercise back in.. Kids finished swim lessons yesterday, so now I have two weeks til school starts back up that I have to find something to keep them occupied and happy with lol.. otherwise they will be driving me crazy .... Sherry - sorry I missed your post there the other day lol. hope you are over your cold. I had an awful cough for over a month.. its finally going away.. The fact that I am smoking again didnt help that at all.. that Hot Summer Nights run sounds like fun :) then another 5k in October. you go girl!! I would LOVE to be up to 4 miles jogging.. 10 would super awesome lol. Cassy - must be nice to have a vacation from the kids lol.. but do you still have kids to take care of that arent your own?? How did your 5k go? and the Italian ?? Got to speak with my husband a few times this week.. That was nice.. especially nice that i got more then 5 minutes of UNINTERRUPTED convo with him lol.. I really want to get back into shape while he is gone.. Thinking about checking into how the Personal Trainer at our "new" fitness center works.. See if she can help me with my issues, and how much its gonna cost me lol. My neighbors are apparently having a BBQ today.. according to their daughter we are invited... Cassy - Italian food.. free bread.. hahaha.. i wouldnt survive.. we always go out to this place here, and i ALWAYS get their Chicken Parmigian and eat waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many of their garlic rolls.. lol.. havent been there since my husband left though, if the kids want to eat out, its usually something like mcdonalds they want lol.. so thats one good thing of him being gone for the moment.. i even went over a month without going to DQ for a treat.. and still had issues getting back on track.. finally went this past weekend (so much for being on track that day huh :P .. but i gotta allow myself that occassional "cheat" right).. Hetsergirls - welcome to the group. it doesnt seem to be quite as active these days, but usually someone will pop in.. and if we can offer advice we will :) if you look at my journal entries i reposted my "12 steps" months ago.. but its still valid, and something i need to check back into lol.. about snacking.. sounds like you are getting the right stuff (especially the fruits and veggies).. you just need to force yourself into a habit of eating them instead of letting them go bad.. i use to plan my day in advance.. it seemed easier to stick to it then. so if you plan on say celery sticks and peanut butter for your snack, prep it the night before, or the morning of.. etc.. etc.. |

Gosh Cassy I wish I had your drive.. I remember when i pushed myself up to being able to do the Komen 5k.. i couldnt do it now.. maybe walking but not running/jogging for sure.. I hope your ankle feels back up to par quickly.. Still not doing any exercise here.. but I am really working on the nutrition side of things.. and hovering closer to 135 now instead of 140.. I know once the kids go back to school beginning of august i will HAVE to do something about the fitness side of it.. but one step at a time.. i am trying some gortons grilled garlic & herb (i think) fish tonight.. the kids are having Crunchy fish filets and Velveeta shells and cheese so I am subsituting a healthier choice for myself.. the grilled fish and some veggies.. we shall see.. lol.. also working on figuring out (still) getting more protein less carbs.. i know my MAIN ISSUE is BREAD!!!!!!!!! UGH!! lol.. i am such a bread and butter baby.. lol.. but i am keeping track of EVERYTHING i put in my mouth.. including my Low Carb Monsters.. which i grew QUITE the ADDICTION to.. I was drinking anywhere from 6 - 8 servings a day when i stopped back in here to start counting again.. and am slowly weaning myself off.. i am down to 4 servings a day now.. speaking of drinking.. not getting anywhere NEAR the water I should be.. in fact, i am lucky if i get 8 oz in a day.. hopefully when i get rid of the monsters i will replace them with water.. thought i would be able to work the water in as i reduced the monsters but it hasnt happened yet.. maybe i need to start with some crystal light, to get back into it.. i dont know.. |

136 this morning, so yesterday wasnt toooo bad for me.. the only things i ate while at the fair between 1 pm - 10 pm was a pack of fig newtons (90 cal) that I brought with, a hot dog & bun from my neighbors company tent, and what probably equals 1/2 - 1 piece of pizza.. lots of walking around from about 1:30 - 4:30, and lots of sitting/standing between 4:30 - 9:00.. Kansas was good.. probably only chance I will ever get to see them in concert.. Lots of people dont even know who they are lol.. Kids had fun, which was the whole point of going.. Hope everyone else in the USA had a nice holiday. |

back to 135 (.8) this morning. its amazing what can happen when you will yourself to stick to it.. now to lose that HARD LAST TEN POUNDS again so I will be happier (yeah right.. lol) Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend.. might take the kids to one of the Army bases out here, Kansas is playing there.. show starts at 530 - 700 .. so would probably go out there about 3:30 - 4ish so the kids can play some games, etc.. IF i go at all. Would have to eat dinner there, and you know how "GOOD" for you fair food is.. and I really hate the crowds (especially driving out afterwards).. but to see the band and then fireworks after.. maybe.. Anyway, stay safe.. |

welll still here... doing pretty good keeping track.. eating about 1350 calories a day so far.. any water weight i was retaining seems to be coming off, so thats a good thing.. i did real well on getting plenty of water on Monday, but yesterday was pretty awful... one day at a time, right? |

okay 24 hours is up.. 2497 calories burned according to HRM.. so its GOTTA be waking hours only lol.. if i average 100 calories an hour.. that would put me at 1600 approx during waking hours.. (16 hours awake, 8 hours asleep.. who does that, honestly?? lol).. so tomorrow I am gonna see what i do waking hours only :P.. good night clock.. good night phone.. good night little dollhouse.. good night moon.... |

congrats on improving your time :) I know its been a while.... but i guess i still fit in this group lol. to back track a bit, i hit my goal of 126 back in oct 2007... Then my husband came home from deployment, and slowly but surely i gained back to 135 ish.. (glad i havent let it go further then that) i've managed to maintain around there give or take 5 lbs ... although nowadays its a fight between 135 and 140.. but i am sooooooooooooo tired all the time, and have absolutely no motivation anymore.. i cant remember the last time i went to the gym.. oh yeah i do.. the main one was back in April of 2008, then i quit going.. They finally opened the fitness center here in housing back in march or april of THIS year, and i think i have gone once or twice :( now the kids are home all day on summer break and i couldnt take them down there with me even if i wanted to so thats not gonna happen anytime soon.. I have plenty of dvds to work out with.. but cant seem to get moving off the couch unless its to clean house.. or quilt/make leis.. I would be okay with 135, if it werent for the fact that i feel like i am "skinny fat".. i look thin enough, but honestly i have no friggen muscles anymore.. and still HATE my stomach. so today i started tracking my calories again, since i have been at least trying to get back on track that way (when my husband was home i was eating sooo much junk, and eating out WAY too much, but hes been gone awhile again, and i still havent gotten back on track).. and although I havent eaten dinner yet, it looks like I am back to my OLD ways (before i found Calorie Count) and am eating tooooo FEW calories again.. ugh.. i also have been wearing my heart rate monitor since 8 pm last night and even though its only 315 pm (so not a full 24 hours yet).. it says i am almost at 2000 calories burned already.. when at my height/weight/etc being sedentary I should naturally burn about 1590 a day (is this suppose to be a 24 hour period?? or just waking hours?? anyone know?? i seem to remember its a 24 hour period.. ).... so OBVIOUSLY I need to eat more, of the right stuff too lol.. so going to see about making sure i have at least enougth calories eaten, and start DRINKING WATER AGAIN, hopefully that will help get me into a better mind state and more energetic to get back to working out like I need to be.. well i hope if anyone is checking in here (looks like some of you still are occassionally from the posts lol) that you are doing alright... |

Hi all, I KNOW, its been a bit since i posted.. I guess I just wanted to deny it lol.. Since my husband has been home so much in the last year I have put back on 15 (YES FIFTEEN) of the lbs I lost :( It all started out innocently enough, I was staying on track, during the week, allowing us a nice meal out on the weekend, and somehow it just got to where we were eating out more, and more junk in the house.. etc.. etc... (he LOVES snacky stuff like M&Ms and whoppers, and and and lol)... I could blame it all on him, but its my fault for not having the willpower to avoid the junk.. so, i guess I am gonna have to jump back on the wagon (once this head cold clears up)..... I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY and NEW YEAR full of joy and happiness (and weightloss/maintenance)... I will overcome this.. lol.. good luck me :P |

Cassy - yay on getting back on track :) Vicki - keep up the walking :) good job :) Well its been a week of me being back on track, and I did manage to see 134 yesterday, but today am back to 136 (which is where I was one week ago today)... WTH... :( i didnt eat anything wrong, and I worked my butt off taking down the swingset in the backyard, PLUS walked the kids to school.. UGH.. funny thing yesterday, I was walking back from the school past a gas station, pushing an empty stroller.. And one of the cashiers was outside and she's like "Where are your kids??" I loooked down at the empty seats, and said "OMG WHERED THEY GO" LMAO... anyhow.. tonight is probably movie night out, so more then likely I will take my cheat day, and tomorrows weight will suk.. :( but oh well. at least i know i am working on it.. Thanks Sherry :) Bummer about the scale driving you crazy but you know its just the pretom :P Mine start school Tuesday and Wednesday :) YAY :) I am going to have the house ALLLLL to myself (think i will nap all day :P then i can stay up all night with the hubby hehe) Joan - I feel ya... its tooo dang easy to gain the weight back.. and so dang hard to lose it again.. Vicki - still working on that house I see.. And STILL doing the soccer thing :) Very cool :) well i kept track of what i was eating the last couple days, and hit 136 this morning, which i was happy with, to see it can go down (i actually hit 140 at one point this last week)... and We went grocery shopping today and bought foods to get me back on track.. I adjusted my "meal plan" to accompany the hubby and kids, so i only have to make one meal instead of one for me and one for them.. i just added in something they would like to eat with the meat, along with my veggie, lol.. so next week should get me back on track food wise, and also will start walking again, to work my way back into exercising.. I am STILL going to allow myself one cheat day (MEAL) a week, (instead of the 3 -4 i have been doing lately :P) I have also been having what I am assuming are gall bladder issues again, serious bloating(to the point i look pregnant), indegestion, and lower back pain, which is the same as i was having back when they sent me in for the surgical consult to have my gallbladder removed (SOMEONE dropped the ball on that one) so I am hoping changing my diet back will also help with that.. i am tired of being in pain like i have been all week.. :( So I hope EVERYONE has a wonderful weekend, dont eat anything you will regret later.. :P |

I am hovering around 135 - 138 these days which really bums me out, but I have also been eating a lot of crud,and whatever i want whenever I want.. ugh.. so I will try to start keeping track again this week, and work on the rest next week. oh soraya i definitely didnt feel like it was something easy lol.. i dont even know if i can jump rope for ten minutes much less 50 - 60 lol. thats a lot of jumping rope.. i just didnt know if you did like different twists of the jump rope, jumps, whatnot lol.. i didnt want to make it harder on myself by trying to do tricks lol.. did my wii today, its fun :) Stacey sounds like you had an awesome weekend :) running to look at the new baby AND YOU !! wow you look great, i never realized how young you are lol.. and i think its funny the pic of you and the baby says Taken May 22 2008 Uploaded Apr 24 2008 when we know she was just born lol.. |

just jump rope for 50 - 60 minutes a day? nothing special. ??? Hubby picked up a Wii on friday, he and kids have been playing it since, basically every day.... night before last we bought the Wii Fit game/board... Finally tonight we tried it out.. i spent 70 minutes using it and burned 220 calories.. as a beginner Mii.. I am sure it will probably burn more as time goes by lol.. plus I didnt do the 2 mile run lol.. probably should of ... but it seems fun.. there is Yoga poses, aerobic exercises, strength, and balance games... pretty cool :) plus we each have our own Mii, and it tells our BMI and our weight, and our Mii age, etc.. mine says I am 41 :( (i am 38 lol) but my BMI and weight are great lol... anyhow.. i just thought it was interesting and thought i would tell everyone about it :) you can also set goals on it :) and it keeps track of how much time you spend on it, and you can also log other activities :)
