I use gloves when I am handling raw meat. I get them at a restaurant supply store. They are the same type food servers use. Not sure where else to buy them though. Hope this helps.:)

I also sit at my desk all day at work. Little things like taking the long way to the restroom and breakroom, or printing something to a printer across the building helps me get a little more exercise. Not always easy when you're busy though. 8 hrs chained to a desk really sucks sometimes.

I wouldn't have to worry about not getting enough exercise, since I would be walking to work.

It's hard! The group I have the hardest time with is whole grains. I get maybe 3 servings a day...if I'm lucky. I do however get all of fruits and veggies in.:)

I've never noticed this. I'll have to pay more attention to how I feel before the scale goes down. The only time I get really hungry is right before TTOM.

I think it's really unhealthy. I used to do this. I would look at pictures in magazines and say, "I want to look like her". The only problem is that most of the women I wanted to look like were tall and very slim. I am short, I have boobs, a butt, and hips. I would get depressed because after all of my hard work I still wasn't starting to look like these women.

After I finally accepted that I will never look like a run way model, I have never felt happier. I am now in this for the health benefits, and weight loss is just a bonus. I actually like my body now. Kankan213 has very good advice. Start accepting who you are and you'll be much happier.

I really like Amy's frozen dinners. They can be a little expensive but they contain no preservatives or additives so I don't mind paying a little more. Here's their website. It lists their products and nutritional information.

My husband and I also left just one penny to a server. And it was at Applebees. Our server was more interested in talking to a couple of pretty girls than doing his job. We saw him a total of 4 times. He took our order, brought us our order, brought us a refill on our drinks (only after flagging him over and he was annoyed that we bragged him away from the pretty girls) and then brought us our check. That was about the third time getting bad service at Applebees, so we never go there anymore.

I am 5'1 and used to be a size 2. So that is my dream size. Also my favorite pair of jeans are a 2, so I would really love to fit into them again!

It's unhealthy. If you’re going to torture yourself with an unhealthy diet of cabbage soup on a daily basis, surely you can have the will power to eat a normal healthy meal plan.

One way to up your calories is to add a little bit of fat to your diet. Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated are the good fats. Adding a little bit of avocado or a small amount of nuts to salads is a good way to add these healthy fats and bump calories up without eating a lot more food. It's also a good idea to eat a little bit of fat with vegetables since the fat helps your body absorb the vitamins a little better. I also live in AZ! I always lose weight in the summer. When it starts getting really hot I usually lose my appetite and only want cool things like fruit and salad. This year I am determined not to gain the weight back! lol

I have the same problem with antihistamine. Benadryl really knocks me out so I can't take while at work. I started taking Claritin and it doesn't knock me out so I can function while taking it and it really works. I have the 24 hr pill, but you can also get one that's a 12 hour pill. Hope you feel better soon!

I would also really hate for this to turn into a huge lecture thread. Swimchick already knows what she needs to do to get healthy, and I really do think she is making progress. I think it takes time to develop healthy eating habits. Whether it's trying to develop healthy eating habits to lose weight or recover from an eating disorder, it takes time. Kudoos to Swimchick for seeing a therapist and for making progress.

Whenever I babysit I always go to their house. It's easier on the kids. All of their stuff is there. Also, when they make a mess, like spill soda on the carpet, it's not my carpet.

This is a very good question. I have the book "Fiber 35 Diet" by Brenda Watson and she claims that for every gram of fiber you consume your body will not absorb 7 calories. So if you have 35 grams of fiber your body will not use 245 calories. If this is true I wonder what else we are not absorbing. She claims in the book that there is research backing this up so I am going to see if I can find anything and also see if they mention anything about not absorbing nutrients as well.

Dryer sheets will also leave a film in the lint filter. Make sure to take it out and wash it every few months. This will help your dryer run more efficiently.

You need to eat more than 800 calories a day. My suggestion...use the tools on CC to determine how many calories a day you need and read through some of the threads. There is a lot of info out there. Good luck!

Yes! I usually eat about 300 - 500 calories more during my period. I never gain weight from it though. I have heard that women burn more calories during their period so that is probably why we feel more hungry.
