| rum and diet. you get drunk faster and you save on calories over beer like crazy. order a double and a water and alternate sips. you'll be drink for drink with your beer friends and much less hungover due to the water. my problem is i drink much more because you don't get that "full" feeling. hence the water, again.
also be careful because when you're watching calories you may have too little calories in your system to balance the alcohol and may get drunk faster. also to combat the munchies, i literally only keep healthy food on hand. last night i devoured a ginormous spinach salad, a bowl of raisin bran and carrots like it was my job. it absorbed some of the alcohol and i didn't have to feel guilty about it. any food is good food at 4am. so just like we'll inhale horrible burritos or pizza slices, we'll inhale apples and spinach too. go for yogurt or cottage cheese if you need creamy or sweet. i also just resisted the urge to order some thai delivery and got sushi instead. good for you and yummy!! |

| Weight Loss | Birth Control? | May 03 2007 01:45 (UTC) |

| i'm 28 and was on the pill (many different estrogen forms) and the ring for about 13 years. When I stopped taking birth control about 2 years ago i was completely able to lose those "last 5 pounds." I definitely noticed a difference in my hips, which had always been, ahem, curvy.
i didn't necessarily gain weight when i started, that i remember, but it does make me think the estrogen made a womanly difference. not that it helped out in the upper area. and obviously it wasn't that big of a hurdle considering i'm birth control free and working on those 10 lbs again. |
