| Hey everyone! I have similar stats and would like to join the group. I am 22, 5'5" and currently 146. I used to be 158, got down to 128, then got a boyfriend and gained 20 lbs!!! But I just started my weight loss routine this week so I am going go try again! I would like support and anything else I can get. I try to go to the gym 3 days a week (I might increase it to 5) and do cardio. I do weights at home. I try to eat around 1300 when I don't work out, 1500 or more when I do. |

| Hey! I really need to lost about 10 -15 lbs and would love to be in this group.
I lost about 30lbs a year ago, and kept it off for awhile. Then I got a boyfriend and we started eating and sitting around and going out to to eat...and I gained a lot back! I am going to spain this summer for school and all my summer clothes don't fit - so it is essential that I lose 10-15 lbs. 5'5'' Current - 147lbs Goal - 135lbs |

| mmm I love zucchini - I cut them up in slices about 1/4 or 1/2 of an inch thick, brush a tiny bit of olive oil on the, sprinkle ground pepper and basil on them, and then grill them on my george foreman grill for about 7 minutes - ohh it is so good! You can do the same thing with tomatoes - I suggust Roma. Just cook them a little less. | |||
| Weight Loss | to all medium framed women out there | Jul 17 2007 01:34 (UTC) |

| I am 5'5 135lbs and have a medium frame - I definitely think I look "slimmer" than what I did 20 lbs ago - even though I have bigger-than-average arms and broad shoulders. I might not ever look tiny and skinny like people with small frames, but I do know I look smaller. No matter what, losing weight will make you look smaller, regardless of your frame! | |||

| Maintaining | how does one go about Maintaining once they have lost the weight?? | Apr 30 2007 22:26 (UTC) |

| I am in the process of maintaining - I reached my goal a few weeks ago, and it is tricky. I feel like I should keep losing weight because that has been what I have done for the past year and now all of the sudden I don't need the scale to go down anymore. Now I am trying to readjust my focus. I started by allowing myself to eat more calories slowly - added 100 here, then 200 there. The thing that I think will be the most important for me is to continue to exercise. I don't have to be as strict as I was on my diet anymore, but I have to keep exercising in order to keep my weight down. It is tough though! Good luck to all. | |||

| Hey I am a college student about to finish my sophmore year and I totally agree. There is so much temptation on campus - luckily I live off campus. When I am on campus, I don't even bring money with me so I can't buy food. Also, I always plan ahead and pack carrots, grapes, pretzels and protein bars like Balance Bars when I know I am going to be stuck on campus for awhile. It really helps planning ahead, but it is a hassle, especially when I have class and work and homework ect ect. But it's good to know there are people out there like me! It seems like a lot of my friends eat what they want, never go to the gym, and don't gain any weight. Haha I can't do that! Oh well | |||

| Hope everyone is having a good day! Pms cravings are the worst - sometimes I just want to go crazy. What I have been doing is getting sugar free jello pudding and freezing them. After dinner or anytime I get a sweet tooth, I have one. Since they are frozen solid, they take FOREVER to finish - I can spend like 20 minutes on one! And they are only 60 calories. It has really helped me because ice cream is my downfall. Before, I was exercising but still having a huge bowl of ice cream every night. Now, I sub the ice cream for frozen sugar free jello and allow myself the real stuff once a week.
Anyway just did a good workout at the gym and now I have to study for a horrible economics exam I am having tomorrow. Ahh I can't wait for the semester to be over! Oh yeah someone said something about getting protein at work - what I have started to do is bring a balence bar with me to school on days when I have to work right after class. I don't have time for lunch so I eat one and they really fill me up. Kinda have a lot of sugar though, which sucks. But they are good. Ok take care all! |

| Hey Emily! Congrats on breaking into the 130's! That's great. It sounds like you have a good plan for weight loss, with a lot of variability. I am at around 132, and planning on staying here or losing maybe a couple of more pounds. What has helped me was to change up my workout - I got into a rut of always going to the gym and doing the same routine, so instead I went out and ran some trails with my dog. Also, I do strength training about 3 times a week, just for like 20 minutes. That helps a lot. Your goal seems somewhat reasonable, but try not to get stuck at that number - you don't HAVE to be 125 by vacation - that might put too much pressure on you and you might be upset if you don't make it. No matter what, if you keep up your style of eating and exercising, you will look great in 9 weeks, regardless of the number. What has happened to me is the closer I get to my goal, the harder it is to lose the pounds. Upping my calories for the day or even skipping a work out can help me jump start my weight loss again. Good luck! | |||

| Hey all! Just wanted to share some good news - I got on the scale this morning and it said 132.4!!!!! My goal is 132 - I can't believe it! I keep looking in the mirror and thinking - is this a girl who really weighs 132 pounds? It is so cool. I am almost at my goal weight - but when I reach it, then what? I mean, I know I should maintain, but it is going to be weird. Is 132 the perfect weight for my body? I am not sure - I have been lower, once, and I was around 115. I did NOT like how I looked - I thought I was gross, and it was bad for me. I want to stay far away from those numbers, so I guess that is why I am stopping at 132. It is right in the middle of the healthy BMI range for my age and height. So I don't know - what do I do? haha this is great though, I am really excited. I should reward myself somehow when I reach my goal but I never really thought about it - any suggestions? |

| Weight Loss | Am I on a plateau?? | Mar 27 2007 13:14 (UTC) |

| The same thing is happening to me. I am 5'5, 21 years old and I weight 136. I have been 136 for like 3 weeks now! I also work out 6 or 7 days a week, but I always do the same routine. I am going to take a couple days off this week (because I have to work all week and I won't have time to work out) but I am going to see how my body responds to that. I am also doing new exercises - I did kickboxing yesterday and I have been running outside instead of running on the treadmill inside at the gym. I think mixing it up will help me get out of this rut. And if it doesn't - oh well! I know I am making healthy choices and living good, so I am not too worried. I am also gaining muscle and losing body fat %, and that is important too. Just stick with your program, eat more and take it easy every once and a while. | |||

| Ohhhh I crave a Chick-Fila all the time. I am not sure if they have them in other parts in the country, but they have them down south. Luckily, I have now started craving their grilled chicken sandwich - it is amazing and only has 230 calories! If I have worked out the day I eat there, I will get the waffle fries too. Oh and their diet lemonade is wonderful. Mmm I try to limit myself to Chick-Fila once every week or two, so when I do have it, it is a serious treat. | |||

| Hey all I am a college sophmore - social work major. Luckily, I don't live on campus, which helps me a lot. I don't even bring any money on campus, and it forces me not to buy any bad food. I have never stepped foot into the cafeteria, haha! So I consider myself lucky. This year, I have really focused on going to the gym a lot and eating mostly healthy. It is ok to eat bad every once in a while when you are doing something to counteract it, like working out. I go to the gym 5 days a week.
But currently I am on my spring break at my parents house and I am eating sooo bad. I usually log my calories that I eat during the day, and I haven't done it in a week because I am afraid to count up all the bad I have been eating. But it is my vacation and when I get back in town, it will be back to the gym and back to eating healthy. I am always looking for friends on here! Take care all |

| Hey
I was just having that problem a few weeks ago. I got a Taylor on sale at Target for $34 and its great. It does weight, body fat, and body water percentage. Its pink and white because some of the money goes to support breast cancer research. I really like it. I was always having problems with scales and I am finally happy with this one. Good luck Ashley |

| Health & Support | Anybody just quit smoking too while trying to lose weight? | Feb 08 2007 13:48 (UTC) |

| I quit smoking a little over a year ago and it has been great. I really struggled for the first few months - seeing people smoke, smelling it on other people's clothes, eating a meal and not having a cig, it was all soo hard. I was trying to eat healthy at the time and I really increased my workouts, because I could finally work out for longer than before (I didn't need to stop because I was coughing). I didn't gain any weight, which was lucky. I was really tempted when I had a cigarette left around, so I threw them all out. Also, I used the patch and gum at the same time, which I am not sure if you should do that but it was what I needed. Now I wake up in the morning and my lungs and throat feel great and I am so happy that I made the decision to quit. I think it is almost counterproductive to be working out, eating healthing, and smoking. That is why I quit and I truly feel healthy all around today. Good luck with it - remember that quitting improves your life tremendously! | |||
