I agree!  I'm trying to teach my "clean your plate" husband that this is not a good thing to force on the kids.  They'll eat when/if they're hungry.

I think losing 15lbs in the past 6 weeks is excellent!  Keep going... I know what it's like to want to see big numbers when you're dieting.  But the truth is... the slower the better!  Congrats on the 15 lbs you've lost!  That is WONDERFUL!

I know in the past, it's taken me 4-6 weeks to see any results.  And that more in the form of inches lost, not pounds lost.  I recommend you measure yourself and then re-measure in 2 or 4 weeks.  I'm SURE you'll see a difference, even if not on the scale.

Example... a couple weeks ago I was bummed because I stalled in weight loss.  So I re-measured after 2 weeks and had lost 5 inches!

I like vodka and Diet Ruby Red Squirt.  I don't drink often, and prefer beer myself.  But since I'm dieting, I try to stay away from beer and have vodka instead.  :)

you should measure yourself... sometimes when i don't see the pounds coming off it helps to see that i'm losing inches.  i agree that are probably gaining some muscle...

Highest weight... 280ish.  That was about 8 yrs ago when I was going through a divorce and depressed as hell!  But, 2 wks ago I got a wake up call when I realized I weighed 277!

Vicky... I am certainly NO expert, but I would guess that it's a combination of both the chocolate and no exercise.  I've heard MANY people with substantial weight loss say that it's ALL about diet and exercise.  Not one or the other.  Hope this helps!

I love Curves!!  Just went on my lunch hour.  I can't explain it any better than stephmcarlo did.  You work at your pace, just like with any gym.  Like when I was there today... there was a young girl that was running in place like crazy on the recovery boards, one woman was marching, I was jogging, etc.  Somedays, I'm the only one in there.  It just depends. 

You can go to your local Curves and they will put you through a work out for free so you can see if you'll like it.  Many women like it becuz it is for women only... and many women there aren't in the best of shape. So it's not like being at a large gym with half naked, in shape, beautiful women prancing around.  It's more "real".

I hate it too!  But I know from losing weight after my last baby, it will go away as you lose weight.  I remember all of sudden one day those rolls were gone.  I can't wait for them to be gone again!!

That seems like way too much to me too!  I can bank on usually a 3 lbs fluctuation during my period.  But 20 lbs is INSANE!  Did you eat an insane amount of salty foods or anything??

I tend to gain 3 lbs the week of my period, then lose it all and more the week after.  Don't get discouraged and don't give in to those cravings!!  You'll be fine! :)

I think 176 cals is good!!  My breakfast is about 162 cals... one egg and one piece of toast.  You could save some cals on the toast by buying low cal bread.

I always thought I was crazy for thinking I had a big ribcage... glad to hear I'm not! lol  Mine expanded with my first pregnancy and has never gone back down.  I have a large frame anyway, so I can live with it I guess.

Unless you are eating TONS of salty food, I don't think you'd gain water weight.  You should probably be drinking MORE water... 50 ounces doesn't seem like a lot to me.  Then again, I drink about 5 liters of water a day! lol

You have to just pick yourself up and start fresh today!  Walk an extra mile or two to work it off.  I know you are mad at yourself, we've all been there.  But that is NO reason to give up!!!  You JUST reached your goal... don't let that slip away!  You have so much to be proud of, don't let a few cookies spoil that!  SMILE... you are awesome and getting healthy YOUNG, which is something I wish I'd cared more about when I was 18!  KEEP GOING!! :)

When I get sweet cravings, I go for an apple or some kind of fruit.  It usually works for me.  Otherwise maybe some sugar free/fat free gum, or pudding, jello??? 

Another big way to keep from giving in is to not buy the sweets in the first place!!  That has helped me a lot too!! :)

I agree with coach_k... I'm 5'7" and 271 and I'm eating around 1700 calories.  (This site says I should be around 1900, but every place else says 1700-1800)

Maybe you should check that again.  Unless you are SUPER DUPER active or something.

Sorry to hear that you have been stuck this past week.  Congrats on your 21 lbs lost... that is fantastic!!  I'm sure if you keep up what you are doing you will see the scale drop again!  Make sure you are getting enough water too!! :)
