Ok guys.........the reason I visited Florida is because my boyfriend has spent summers basically everywhere else in the US and doing countless road trips across it, and the only place he hadnt visited and would like to was Florida!!!!! I really dont see the harm in choosing it as a holiday destination???? And I think that making a statement like " whats with europeans and Florida" is missing the point about the acceptance of obesity levels that i encountered while on holiday. And Jevw go you on making a change, making your kids packed lunch may seem like a small thing, but it will make a big difference to them :) |

Gosh Dont get me wrong sfeerikal, its a great place to visit and everyone we spoke to was very helpful and nice/friendly but it was a huge culture shock for me!!! Im sitting here nodding my head agreeing with almost every post, I think the idea of "value" and "quanitiy vs quality" seems to be a big thing. I had never heard of free refills over here (Ireland) if you want a second glass of something you pay for it which stops you from drinking half a litre of soda before you realise it. I travelled around Florida, and I have to say it wasnt only in the theme parks that I noticed a difference and actually everything seemed even bigger and cheaper outside of the theme parks!!!! And as for the scooters I am a little more understanding the idea of carrying 200lbs, I hadnt really thought of it in that way and how hard it would be to get around if i had extra weight but it was really the general acceptance of obesity that shocked me most it seemed to be OK to be bigger, like I went to Italy last year to visit my bf's family and at my weight and height I was large and felt quite uncomfortable people seemed to live very healthy lifestyles and couldnt understand how you could "let yourself go". At the end of the day it was just a huge culture shock, and im trying to get my head around it! |

| Got a question..........
Ok a friend of mine has just joined weight watchers and she saw me out running at the weekend and then went on to tell me that her class leader had explained to them that excercise DID NOT help you loose weight it only helped you to tone up and that what basically made u loose weight was just your diet????? Personally I think its a combination of both diet and excercise and either of those alone is not enough??? Any thoughts on this????? |

| Hi All!!
This is sooo good i didnt think there was a 150 group anywhere!!!! I just weighed in this morning at 152lbs so yay cause I had been stuck on 154lbs for weeks and it was driving me crazy :) Oh and Im 21 From Ireland and 5'6" and my ultimate goal would be 135lbs so if i keep up my work hopefully i will get there but it seems so tough to break the 150 mark!!! |

| Hi all, I no I havent posted in ages but I felt I had nothing to say couldnt get past the 11stone(154 lbs) mark and it was driving me crazy!!!!! BUT sticking with the healthy eating and getting out for walks etc has paid off......well only a little 2lbs down as of this morning so 152lbs its only a small loss but I had to work damn hard to push through that pleateau as such!!!! sooo WOOOOOHOOO Oh and I bought a weighted hula hoop is like 5lbs and have been like "hula hooping" hehe for like 5 or ten mins 3 times a day.......would this have anything to do with it cause it doesnt feel like a work out its really fun??? And everyone is doing soooo well its great to see all the weight loss over the past few weeks :) |

| Hiya all,
Im Irish from Westmeath (about and hour outside dublin) and OMG I thought I was the only one going crazy with the US snacks etc exactly why I dont log online cant find what I have been eating!!! And what the hell is a luna bar LOL And I think im a cruncher too haha Its so much fun trying to suck a a fruit pastel all the way.........I always end up chewing though!!! Snack a jacks are so great !!! And im with you on the jaffa cakes 2 :) |

| The wrap around ones are brill but I run out doors and find my ears get a little cold (I live in ireland) so Just another option, I have "skull candy" headphones, they sit over my ears (like ear muffs) I have started running recently they stay on (not popping out like the ipod headphones which drive me loopy)

| Hi Sheriglass!! I do indeed I have a target of 1300 per day but some times that varies (1300-1500). I stay within my target monday to friday but struggle at the weekends I dont log online as sometimes its a bit time consuming and im not always at a computer but i have my little orange notebook where I note everything I eat and drink daily and calculate the calories as I go??? | |||

| Bugsy your not stupid!!!! Everyone has bingeing days and weeks so dont beat ur self up about it, just think today is a new day and im going to move forward from here :)
struggling myself to keep on track as the scales just seems to stay and 154lbs and not budge from there!!! Im running in the evenings walking to and from work feels like im banging my head against a brick wall but im going to try to stay motivated and positive.....which is so hard when u feel like ur giving everything and still not loosing!! Any ideas on what i sud do?? eat more protien less carbs?????? |

| sheriglass thank you so much!!!!!! hehe ok food swapping or balancing is a great plan i really find weekends so tough so Im doing really well at the moment and fingers crossed i have have a good weekend :)
And as for being spoiled OMG Florida is my main driving ambition Im going on my first trip to the states on June 20th and im going to Orlando Im soooooo excited!!!!! And i dont want to be the big fatty when im on my holiday of a lifetime!! (im from ireland so the trip is a big one) hehe |

| Damn Weekends im so bad at staying focused!!!! 1 lb loss........so 154 this morning so disapointed cause I did so well all week and just screwed it up at the weekend!!!!!

| HULA HOOP!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg thats a great idea and sounds like sooooo much fun as well as burning a few calories:) thanks a million!! Aw no dont feel down, your doing really well! you havent binged thats a really good thing so dont forget that its a great achivement x x its only a few more days to saturday so when u weigh in and see a loss even if its just a pound or so its still a loss and a step closer to your goal and will help u keep pushing forward! so stick with it x also try grapes for a sweet snack?? or a pear?? might help if cold foods are irritating you x And the braces.......I still have a permanent brace which is a bugger but when I had tracks i used to get the same feeling after I had them tightened??? Have u just had them re adjusted, cause hopefully that sensitivty will pass in a day or two?? |

| Ok Im not a member of a gym(quite expensive over here and not convenient at all at pretty far from my home!!) and Im living In Ireland (rain is a problem hehe) I get most of my work outs from walking/running in the country side which sounds idealistic BUT has any one got any tips for what to do when you cant get outside for a walk????
Or should i go in the rain anyway and have the attitiude "im not sugar i wont melt??" |

| I think thats the whole point ,so if the binge monster hasnt visited wooohooo the thread is helping!!! So go team on fighting the binge monster!! (If we stick with the healthy foods the weight loss fairy will come along and kick the binge monsters butt!! )
Just finished my tea break at work and snacked on some fruit instead of cakes and bickkies its the small changes that count right? And I feel full which is always good!! And as for the rollercoasters......Im telling myself i will go on them now but it could be a whole other story when I arrive hehe I might totally chicken out lol but it will be my first time in the states so Im all excited to try new things :) |

Thats a great idea!!!! Splurge on some bath products or a new book or mag!!! I love taking baths but I never thought about treating myself like that instead of with food...... This has really helped me so much!!! Thanks guys xxxx Also this is the first time I have posted here been looking around the site for over a year but didnt get the guts to post until yesterday so really means alot to have some support and motivation :) |

| Hope I'm not too late but I'm in!!!!!!!!! Im 21, 5'6 and at 155 lbs as of this morning up up 1lbs due to an unmerciful binging session this weekend!!! This group might just be the help I need :) Im going on my first holiday to America (going to Orlando, Florida) for 2weeks on June 20th and if I could loose 10lbs by then I would be over the moon!!! Here it goes girls we all have so many reasons for this so lets just get to it and keep each other motivated along the way :) x |

Cooking together is a better idea then takeaways :) And I'll try to let up a little mid week so theres not such a distinction between one and then other if that makes sense!!!
