| My trainer has also told me to do the lifting first then cardio. I have several body builder buddies at the gym I work out at, they all lift weights first, never ever do cario first. Weights do come first!!! | |||

| Weight Loss | What is your ideal weight? | May 01 2007 22:04 (UTC) |

| I am:
247 lbs and 5'4" large framed, lot of muscle, according to the biometric reading - most accurate except for water testing, I had taken (VS. the caliber testing), my weight should be at 170 lbs. Biometrics is the best to check to see how much lean body weight, water, and fat percentage you have. Everyone's make-up is different. |

| Fitness | Weights VS Cardio? | Apr 30 2007 17:51 (UTC) |

| My personnal trainer has me doing first 10 min. warm-up on treadmill. then weights for 30-40 minutes. she has it to 3-4 sets/15 reps with slight increases each week. I take a 1 minute break between sets to let muscles relax so I can finish the other sets. Drink water, more water also. After weights is cardio machine, mainly the elliptical rider (increase a level a week) for 40 minutes 3 times a week and 2 days a week for 20-30 minutes. I have dropped almost 2 pant sizes since Jan. Also, what you put in your mouth makes a difference on lossing the flab, Quality (wheat vs. white flour, etc.) and Quantity (portion control) of food you put into the mouth. | |||
| Weight Loss | Has my scale been lying to me? | Apr 30 2007 17:16 (UTC) |

| I rarely go by what the scales says. My pants tell all of how I am doing, baggy pants and all. If you are a person lifting weights more than cardio, as I am, muscle is lean, compacted, and heavier than fat. I have been toning down with using weights more than hitting the exercise machines. The scales say I am not loosing hardly a thing. I get a biometrics reading done, that machine is telling me what I have actually lost in fat, along with my jeans. I have dropped almost 2 pants sizes since January 2007.
I am around a few women body builders. One girl is 5'3" and weighs in at 135 lbs with arange of lean body fat percentage from 6-10%. She is considered overweight in charts at the doctor's office. Not by no means is she overweight. Everyone is built different with different gene pools. |
