Weight Loss Does a weighing yourself everyday help you lose weight? Dec 09 2008

I have weighed myself everyday.  I have watched all 72 pounds fall off and enjoyed each one of them.  After an off-diet day, which I also encourage, it helps me to get back on track for the trek down.

Good luck.

SO with so many replies, mine will probably get lost in the shuffle..but heres my take.

I quit on May 26th...  In the following two months I have gained nearly 25 pounds.  However, I would rather gain 25 pounds and lose it then keep smoking.  I am back on my diet and losing weight, so the same system that helped with weight loss initially will help as you go forward.  Keep at it..

remember, weight gain is temporary, but the benefits of quitting smoking will stay with you forever.

if you wanna eat salt. do it.  no calories in salt last time i checked, and water retention is a temporary side effect.  being fat isnt.  you know the risks...drink water to keep flushed.

Finally, the marathon begins.  Going for gold... love the concept.  Hope to maintain my focus for the year as I have the past one.  One yr ago, I was at 270...today at 200, and shooting for 175 by the end of 2008.

Today:

Burn Meter: 2450

Cal total: 1450   thousand calorie deficit for the day!  thats awesome for a weekend day for me.  Exercise?  nope, none sadly.  This week, when I am in Las Vegas...I will have plenty of time to hit the workout room.  Could be kidding here, but I am sadly serious.  Welcome to the race....best of luck to you all.

I am Eric.

my goal:  175 pounds.

As of now, at 205.4 (as of this morning).  Last Thanksgiving, I weighed 270 pounds.  I am down 65 from then, so plan to continue my current cycle of 1200 per day for 6 days, and one cheat day each week.

At 270 pounds...that was all i knew of me.

Now, Me, I'm not.

The buck sprang into action chasing her through the wooded surroundings.  It was the time of year for this to happen, and he knew she was the one.  He was quite excited at the prospect of catching her.  As they approached a clearing in the trees, they found themselves awestruck at the size of the field they now find themselves in.  She looked back at him, and cocked her head to one side.  She thought he was so special to be appreciative of the beautiful scenery God had created for them in the field.  He walked up beside her, and they touched.  It was quiet.  Then, the stillness of the moment was disrupted with the loud bang that came from high in the trees.  Instincts told them to ran, and they did.  Thankfully...

I suggest adding 200 calories for a week. if you dont lose weight ( you will) add 100 more.  You will break through..once you do, go back to 1200.  I use a cheat day once a week to keep me far away from starvation mode.

good luck, be patient.
