thank you! i'm not counting the calories at all (I used to have ED, so the moment I control what I eat to lose weight I start fasting and binging). My calories are still between 1700-1900 every day, slightly less of what I used to eat (about 2100 a day), I just swapped all the junk food with healthier stuff. Also, to combat the cravings for sweets, I am nearly constantly grazing on fruit or things like ricecakes.

I never used to have coffee eithger, just the occasional cup of green tea which I still have some times. I'll stick to it another week and see what happens, also cause I am very happy with the way I'm eating now, and I enjoy the food too! I've been having my 5-a-day every day, which never happened before! Just hope I can stick with it :)

Maintaining 1800 Calories? Sep 19 2008

1300 is really too low, you shouldn't eat less than 1500 even on a diet in the long term, otherwise your body starts eating from your muscles to get the energy it needs, and also starts consuming far less. Consider that a normal diet should be 2000, I'd say if you go up to 1600 would be better, and increase your activity level if you need to rather than cutting too many calories. Also bear in mind that the info they give you here are very rough and generalised, so they wont fit everyone..

If it can help, about 3 months ago I started training for a 10k run, so I ran a lot and also watched what I ate. I didn't really want to lose weight, well, I wanted to, but after so many failed diet I lost all hopes so just wanted to run better! First 2 months nothing happened, weight-wise, but in the last month I suddendly lost a stone! And I'm not hungry anymore, my body got used to eat a little less and I actually find it hard to eat a big meal like I did before. The best trick is to eat LOTS of vegetables, it fills you up without too many calories.

Stick to your diet (like the others said, make sure you measure right) and find some sort of exercise you really enjoy so you'll do it more and wont feel pressured to do it, it may take a while but you'll see the weight going soon!

good luck!

Hey.. well, i have to say that i'm pretty much just like you! i'm always very busy, often jumpin all day from uni/work/gym and think that i wont have the time to buy and cook proper food.. at the moment the best thing i can do is trying to avoid to buy pre-packed meals, as even if they might be not too high in calories they have too many things in it.. i usually just wake up a bit earlier in the mornin (like half an hour) and prepare my lunch, it sounds bad but once you get used to it it's not too bad..

i think that if you concentrate more on eating healthy rather than just losing weight it's going to be better.. i started eating lots more vegetables, they are the main part of my meal now, that fill me up with low calories and more good stuff like vitamins! and obviously most of the time i have a fruit as a snack..

to be fair i wasnt really a fruits&vegs fan, but i kind of got used to them and like them! and im not even attracted to mcdonalds and similar anymore, cause i know what's in it and i think of what it does to my body.. if you do a little research on the internet im sure you'll find all the information you need, it takes some time but it's just at the beginning!

i hope i helped you a bit, although i think that everyone as its own way to "be healthy"! take care x
