Oh my gosh, margaritas are my downfall!! My absolute favorite! I usually pair them with chicken fajitas, and limit myself to one tortilla and munch on the chicken & vegetables if I'm still hungry.  Have fun!

Hi all! I'm still alive. Some personal thing going on this month so I've lost most motivation. Still going to the gym to counteract the guilt I feel when I eat crap... like the donuts someone brought in the office today! But I'm here, staying steady... no loss.  But I'm trying to get back into healthy eating, I'm just such a stress-eater & right now my stress level is SKY HIGH!

Thanks Purespark! I'm finally getting back into my diet & exercise routine & have to leave to go out of town again tomorrow! Lots of eating out & party food (bridal shower with old friends = alcohol & yummy deserts and such)... yikes. I'm going to do my best to keep a clear head though. I'm up like 4 pounds and it's really scary to see how much different my stomach looks, it's all there! So it's going down a little every day, and I'm hoping to be back down sometime next week.

Carlyanne, welcome to the group! I'm up for your challenge. Just hoping it can happen! My personal goal is to get to the gym today (I am so sore from Wed & Thurs but I want to at least go get some cardio in) & start back on Monday & go every day... we'll see! I'm obviously desperate to get these extra lbs off!  :)

Congratulations to everyone on all of the progress. Marathons and such... that is quite impressive!!

I've been out of town & really fell off the wagon.  Not really watching my cals, drinking too much, no exercise whatsoever. And boy does it show. I'm up two pounds but I swear it looks like I've gained 5 in my belly. I'm so bloated.  I'm upping the water today & cutting back. Hope it works. I'm also going to the gym this afternoon, so hopefully it will at least make me feel better.  And I really need to catch up on my sleep...

Anyway, sorry to be such a whiner. I'm just really losing motivation and need to get back on here to rekindle my fire! Hope everyone has a great Hump Day!  :)

Wow, and I thought $3.10 was high here in Savannah, GA. Last week I believe I paid $2.88.  Too bad I'm going on a road trip this weekend. I am not looking forward to those fill-ups! Yikes...

But I guess I should just be thankful I'm not paying $3.56, ouch!

Rezaiasl, I tried that milk you're talking about recently. I got the chocolate unsweetened kind, thinking it would make a good low-cal snack. Yuck! There is absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I did add a touch of Splenda to make it bearable though. But I don't think I'll get it again. Maybe I should try the regular kind though.  :)

As for the Dodgers game, that sounds like a lot of fun. Go ahead and have a treat, but I wouldn't go too crazy. When I do that I tend to veer in the wrong direction more often.  I do the same thing that Angele does. I just take a bite of my husband's! Usually works.  Just be good up til then, have a light breakfast or whatever, and try not to go crazy. We can't live the rest of our lives on a diet, we have to learn how to control ourselves when we go out as well! Best of luck to you! Have a great time!!

Angele, I'm down this morning too! I was at 132.8 this morning.  Crazy! Down two pounds also... I hope it's not water weight. I had a really tough workout last night & I'm guessing it may be mostly water... Keeping my fingers crossed!

Claire, it sounds as though you've had a pretty stressful weekend.  Good job on holding on to your sanity, much less worrying about your diet during that crazy time. I know when my husband and I fight it's all I can do to not go out & buy junk food! So congrats for no gain!

Purespark, I was very surprised to see that I got an A for yesterday's nutrition, even with the pizza! We had Papa John's Thin Crust "the works" pizza, but omitted the Italian sausage and black olives, got extra sauce and light cheese.  So I'm pretty sure that it was fewer calories than CC has listed, so I'm pleased. I may go home & have a slice for lunch today too! In fact, I'm pretty sure I will!  And I'm pretty positive that Italian food just bloated you up.  Just drink loads of water today, I'm sure you'll see that number down soon!

And Jules, I'm having the same dilemma you are! My scale has been pretty constant lately (up & down these same 3 pounds) but my clothes are much looser! I'm wearing a pair of pants that a friend told me at New Year's were too tight... and today they're literally falling off of me. They're a a few inches loose in the waist and the butt is totally sagging.  Everyone's probably wondering why I'm walking around with such a goofy grin on my face today!  :)
The Lounge Spray tans at tan salons, have you tried? May 21 2007

Kudos to you for keeping away from tanning beds! Especially since you've just gone through the ordeal of having cancer removed. You do not want to add the possibility of future melanoma to your list by hopping in a tanning bed.

Seeing as how this would be your first time, I would not suggest getting a Mystic Tan done before a big event like this.  You need a practice round if you're going to one of those tanning salons to get this done. (The kind where you walk in a booth & it sprays you.) I remember the first few times I went to one of those I came out with orange wrists, fingers, ankles, etc. You really have to learn how to wipe around those areas & I remember it still being blotchy even after.

If you want good results the first go-round, and are willing to pay a few extra dollars, I would go to a professional body bronzer/spray artist. Some hair salons have in-house people that do this.  I go to a place that is solely for spray tans now. It lasts a little longer because it's a higher quality spray. And since it's air-brushed, the technician can do body contouring, etc to give great effects. They will also give you a personalized color that will match your skin tone, preventing something too orange or dark. I've had wonderful results with this. It can be more expensive than regular spray tans (I pay $35 per session), but I only get it done when I have events, and more often in the summer. But it's totally worth it!

Good luck!

Rezaiasl, that is awesome that you're so close to your goal. I'm sure the extra water intake will help a lot with your loss! Good luck.

Purespark, hope the loss stays this morning! Wouldn't that be nice after a night of drinking...  The last time I had a weekend of drinking and limited calorie intake (about two weeks ago) I lost 3 pounds in three days... needless to say that came right back on, guess it was just water weight (and TOM bloat).  But as of this morning, I am back down those pesky three pounds, 134.4!  I was very happy.  I just hope it STAYS down this time!  I've lowered my goal to 125, but I'm still in the 10 pound club!  =)  I swear, the closer we get to our goals the harder it is.

But let me tell y'all how excited I was when I figured out I could have pizza without totally starving for half the day... I had two slices of thin crust pizza & I was still within my limit for yesterday. And I saw a loss this morning (only 4 ounces but hey, that's something!).

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday & starts the week off feeling great!

Down a pound this morning, YAY!! I did pretty well yesterday, so I'm hoping today goes the same.  If I could just stop yo-yoing and just go down consistently I'd be happy... I keep fluctuating with these three pounds.

How's everyone else doing? Having a wonderful weekend, I hope!

A good & cheap exfoliator is baking soda! Just mix a little with water or a liquid shower soap. My spray-tan lady actually told me that one!

Wow at the number of 25 year olds in our little group! Me too!

Tammy, good job on dumping the a$$!  You deserve way better...

And Clairebear, 6 inches is remarkable!! Congratulations!! That's amazing. I can't wait to share that joy with you!! I've only lost about 3 inches around the middle... Grr... everywhere else is doing splendidly though, but my belly is another story.  :(

As for me, my weight is the same as yesterday... 135.8.  But that's ok because I had sushi for dinner last night & I was kind of thinking the soy sauce would bloat me up a little, so I'm happy with the scale.  I am a little frightened of stepping on it again though as a coworker brought me my favorite (nonfat no whip) Starbucks latte this morning... yum! But it may put me over a little on my calories for the day.  Had a light lunch so I'm hoping to be alright... as long as I can control myself over the weekend.  Speaking of, have a WONDERFUL ONE EVERYONE!!

Hmm, 10 day mini-goal. Sounds good.  I'd love to do 2 pounds as well, but I'm not sure how realistic that is for me.  My loss has been pretty unpredictable lately. I think my goal for these ten days is to just stick with the program! Stay between 12-1400 cals/day, LOTS more water than I've been getting, and exercise daily! If I stick to that, hopefully I'll see a 2 lb drop by the 26th!

Thanks rezaiasl! I need a little motivation!!! And Memorial Day weekend is a great goal date.

Congrats mickisdaddy! I think a loss of 1.4 per week is awesome!

Clairebear, I thought I would have gone down this morning too, as I did very well yesterday & had a killer cardio class... but no, I was up .8 instead. Arghhh.  But I hear ya on the eating thing, if I had my way I would have pizza, chips and chocolate every day! I did have 2 sugar-free fudgesicles yesterday though (only 40 cals a each!)... wonder if that had anything to do with the .8 gain... ha!

Cmillington, sounds like you've got a great routine going. Keep at it and those pounds will come off, and you'll build muscle too. Sounds like you're going about it in a healthy way.

And rezaiasl, I broke through a plateau the week I didn't exercise as well, while also lowering my calories. But at the end of that week I felt really crappy and sluggish. And it was so hard to get back into my gym routine. I just don't think I would look/feel as good without exercise.  I feel like the parts I'm trying to fix get all jiggly when I don't work out, even though they may be shrinking.  Maybe it's just because I'm trying to get rid of all this excess fat/skin as well, and I need the toning. My stomach just isn't as elastic as it once was.  =(
