| water displace ment im guessing. you probally consume alot of water while doing these bike rides and the water is rushing all around your body. so even after you stop excercising the water is still there moving around. then it slowly slows down and you start feeling bloated. if your anything like me (which i hope so) you drink alot of water during these workouts because you honestly need it or youll hurt yourself. so if you enjest to much itll just sit there for awhile because your not getting much of it out of your system other than when you pee. im kinda completly opposite of you. i workout every day except weekends but on weekends i feel so fat and bloated its just rediculus. but this is all just cuz of the water most likely :)

| well its hard to suggest anything because you have to be mentaly strong enough to say i dont want that chocholate. i think the major things are is 1. will power 2. are you actualy hungry? i have this problem becaue of how much i excerisice and how healthy i eat. if my body is truly hungry the kind thats bad for you then you need to feed yourself. dont do it with chocholate though do it with an apple and what not. no one can truly help you with this unless you just have the will power to say im not actualy hungry for chocholate. but if you are hungry. grab a celery stick or somthin not a choco muffin. but if you must i recamend finding substitues. for example. i like you have cravings for sweets/specificaly chocholate. i deal with these when i have them till they pass. then maybe later ill go have a serving of low fat chocholate brownie frozen yogurt (100 cals per serving) little stuff like that helps if you dont have the will power to just not have that muffin. hope that helpd

"why are you on CC u dont need to lose weight?" CC is the reason i dont got much left to loose ;p helped me loose about 50-60 pounds out of the 80 i lost. go CC ! and yes i do alot of planks and stuff but the main thing i think is just getting my body fat down another couple percent. i have extremly strong core just hidden under very old fat :P Chris |

| Fitness | Confused about muscle weight? | Aug 14 2007 02:08 (UTC) |
|
| if your very very new to lifting (first couple of months) you may notice a muscle increase. but if not then it wont have any effect. when you have a deficit your body typicaly dosnt build muscle becaue it just does not have the materials(calories) but the best thing for you to do is grab a tape measurere and do that and scale because scale is a usless bugger by itself. you can have days where you are 5-6 pounds heavier even if you lost fat! so keep the scale for refernce but start using that measureing tape.

thats a picture of a hip sled. and what i recamend you do before you try to do weights is 1. try doing whats called "jumping squats" lower yourself into the squating position and jump up from the squating position as far up as possible. these are good if you dont want to use weigh 2. have an experienced lifter teach you how to use the squat bar. if your form is bad you can hurt yourself in all kinds of ways. | Fitness | Does it make sense me lifting weights? | Aug 13 2007 23:20 (UTC) |
3 |
| Weight lifting is always good for ya. but if it comes down to you having to go "i only have time for cardio or weights" of course pick cardio because you are trying too loose weight but weightlifting in an essence helps the whole process. by the time you get down to your goal you will look much better with that muscle underneath. muscles also burn cals to maintain themselves but you probally wont gain much muscle because you do have a deficit in cals. but you will maintain this muscle by weight lifting with them. so id say yes it is neccary and very benificial to the cause. :)

| Fitness | toning question | Aug 13 2007 23:16 (UTC) |
2 |
| The butt question! alot of people have the same problem (i had a huge booty a year and half ago) so i understand your situation. running helps alot but to get that extra toning i recamend the below.
1. Squats 2. Hip sled 3.Jump rope (not as good as first 2 but sure does help) 4. Short distance hard sprints (that intial boost you start with from a stop position is typicaly generated from the buns and muscles in the back of your thighs) and about your cals its really dificult to say without knowing more about your lifestyle. but just keep in mind that you are growing so big cal deficits sometimes arnt the best thing at your age. stick to 500 cal deficits and youll be fine. dont go above that though. and another thing. DO NOT OBSESS! Younger people like you and me (im only 17 myself) are really prone to EDs that can come from counting cals. i started at 15 myself but i became unhealthy after a year of doing it cuz i was so obsessed. so just take it easy and dont get to caught up in it. | Fitness | Jogging in place? | Aug 13 2007 23:09 (UTC) |
|
| id recamend actual jogging for a bit more of an excersice but if you dont have that option this beats doing nothing by far. make sure you have a little bit of a clear area so that you dont hurt yourself on anything. then basicaly jog how you would in real life but keep in mind your knees. when people jog in place they typicaly dont bring those knees up like they would covering actual ground. so make sure your knees are coming up. thats pretty much all there is to it :)

| Fitness | Question about muscle mass/strength | Aug 13 2007 23:06 (UTC) |
3 |
| alot of people have the same problem ill try and walk ya through it
1. Good to hear your mainting lifting power. but hows your effort level? are you having to put double the effort in too lift the same weights? 2.Make sure you get a decent amount of protein. its easy to run across a protein deficit when dieting and protein will help you maintain that muscle. 3. make sure you keep lifting regulary. lifting alone increases the chance of burning hardly any muscle. 4. take a easy pace. 500 cal deficit and below and this should also help fight muscle loss. and on the estimating body fat its hard to say. i use tape as a "reference" progress wise. then when i think im close or past my BF goal i go see my doc or i go to my gym (they have infared scaning. only costs 5 bucks) and get the most accurate Bf test they got. and just for the record. no such thing as a stupid question. especialy when it applys to your health :) Chris |

| ok you must have somewhat the same body type as me but since i am a male i store my fat in my mid section. im 5 11 173 and my you can see all my ribs and my spine and ribs from behind. but i still have a tummy. this is just due to large bone structures most of the time so id say keep going and if it gets worst ask your doc about it and see the best course. for buns and thighs and say squats and hipsled. they also have the one thing where you sit with your legs strait out infront of you and you push your seat back. these all works thighs and buns at the same time :)

| Fitness | Bike Training | Aug 10 2007 03:45 (UTC) |
5 |
| stationary or actual bike riding. if its actual bike riding id just recamend getting in your car (or if your under age get your parents too) and just drive to certian mile markers and put a little star on a map or remember the area. then say you start off at your first mile marker (as far as u feel comfortable riding right now) and do it every day 5 times a week then next week go on to the next marker! this will keep you from getting burned out and will steadily increase your endurance! i love bike riding its alot more fun then running cuz you feel like your going a milion times faster and getting somewhere :). Good to see you putting in an effort either way im sure youll get to your goal with an attitude like that.

| Fitness | Body fat dropping with minimal exercise? | Aug 10 2007 03:32 (UTC) |
2 |
| Hey there id like to say first off before anything. your inspring. its one thing to loose pounds.another to loose 12 percent body fat. ~high five~ For loosing fat its mostly about calorie deficits. but if your trying to stay the same weight and loose body fat u will have to somewhat increase your muscle mass by doing so. which is pretty tough if your trying to loose fat. i think its healthy to loose 1-2 percent a month ( you might not becaue you are starting to come in very low for a woman. so it may drop slower) so its a very hard to say on what to do. the best way to retain muscle mass and loose fat is slower cutting (200-400 cals deficits). sorry if that didnt help much but good work so far! proud of ya.

| Weight Loss | Help me pre-plan some choices! Healthier Restaurant and Exercise Choices while on vacation | Aug 10 2007 03:13 (UTC) |
7 |
| well i dont belive anyone should really "diet" on vacation. its vacation! but of course dont go buck wild and eat a zilion cals a day but i dont belive in strict cals when on vacation. enjoy your time off. its especialy hard in foreign countrys (do you know the language of the area?) sometimes it gets really hard to stick to meal plans when you dont speak the same language. so my advice is have a good time and just eat in moderation but dont stress on it. you have the rest of the year when u get back and you should enjoy vacation while you can. just try too stay active during the day and avoid just sitting around the hotel and ull be fine. just my opinion of course do whats good for you! have a great time! La vida es un partido. el baile. (ill let u figure out what it means lol)

| tips is when your mom goes out to buy those hot dogs and cereal. smile and give her your list (try egg whites for break fast and turkey samwiches for lunch! takes less effort and slower time than a crummy hot dog with alot more flavor and good for ya!) people make alot of excuses (not saying you are) for why there diets are crap when its as simple as make a little yellow note of paper with some scribbles on it. good luck bud!

| Weight Loss | effects of binging? | Aug 10 2007 02:22 (UTC) |
21 |
| i had a case of binging before... i found that theres triggers that cause it. try and find what your "trigger"is and try and work on that area. mine is a sharp intake of carbs at one time. so i try to spread my carbs out as much throgh the day as possible. another thing if your dieting make sure its within reason. most people binge cuz they starve themselves for awhile and then when they hit a point where they cant control there hunger they binge.... this is just my expereince with it. its difernt for everyone but dont let it rule your life. dont except that this is somthing uncontrolable cuz there are ways to at least minimize the effects. so dont give up

| pfft dont stress it. slight changes in cals every couple days will make u burn off more. just dont make it a daily thing lol. you do not have to work out harder tomarrow but u always have that option. no diet is pefect if you get a little more one day its not that big of a deal. people do yo yo diets because they are so strict and stressed on there diet that theres no way they can maintain it for long periods of time. just stay within reason i mean dont go eat 10 milion of those things but an extra 2 added to your daily cal limit will more help you then hurt you. so dont stress try and enjoy your weight loss expereince :)

| Weight Loss | NEW ON HERE | Aug 09 2007 20:52 (UTC) |
|
| its pretty simple just go to your tool sectoin and check your allowance. for a nice paced weight loss of a pound a week you ycan go 500 cals below maitnence. which is a nice steady pace that most every body could stick with. but if u must try and speed it up you can go 1000 cal deficint tops (since your a girl never go below 1200 though without having your doc keep on eye on you.) id also like to say welcome to the sight! cal counting beats most fad diets (most of um are bs. true weight loss just comes from Cal intake/expenditure. and the more healthy food i belive the better weight loss. some people belive it dont matter as long as u get a certain cals a day but thats for you to decide through trial and error) if you need any help feel free to drop a post or shoot me a PM. good luck!
