The guy is an ass-jack, I agree. Hug your precious boy, love your precious boy and let folks like me deal with him and his advertisers, you don't need the vitriole I can afford to allow well up in me. It's absolute **** and we both know it.
(my close friend has a son on the spectrum and be damned if I am not going to fight for him). |

Caverlady, That is exactly what happened to me. I simultaneously had an ulcer and they assumed that the pain was all under the ulcer. It wasn't. They had to do an emergency surgery the hard way and clean my abdomen out. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks.

My gallbladder and I parted company, rather tragically about 10 years ago. I suffered too long before getting the surgery. Please do not make the same mistake I did. Because I waited, I have a 10" scar across my abdomen, and my abdomenal muscles routinely cramp up there.
Please, go get it done. |

I work for a super-large cosmetics company. The catch on that one, is that I am one of two women in a department of 12 men, so it's not your usual fare for the office. |

Coconut Chiffon Cake, a big ass slice of it. Oh, and brownies and sausage. Oh and then on Saturday, lobster with butter and a pina colada. I suck! But, I am counting again and I did log everything I ate, even the badstuff so that I would not get out of habit. |

Thank you very much Melkor for your quick reply and support. I feel so good playing and afterwards, which is rare for a non-sports kind of chick like me. Anyone in the greater Philadelphia area up for some tennis??? |

But, but, but, don't you need to be kinda evil in order to pursue the super-villain path? I mean sure, I can be on occassion, usually following a carb binge, a little demented, but evil? I am not so sure. But, I am totally with you in digging the campy hair-do. I am thinking I could due a rubenesque Amy Winehouse sloppy beehive and store weapons in it. My weapons, I think, would be stale southern biscuits, and perhaps my own trained hive of bees. I would need a nemesis though wouldn't I? |

OK, no capes, got it! But do I still need to wear the spandex? I am a little concerned about how it will look on me. Let's just say that spandex and I have never been particularly "close" and on the occassions wherein we have had an unfortunate encounter, it has been pretty tragic, let me tell you!

Incredibly fascinating read. There is a lot we can, and most importantly should learn from Feeney. We can all make changes in little ways. What's one less *$ a week if that is compounded to create a micro-loan, or tossed into the Sally Ann kettle, or given to a childrens group.

| Fitness | Anyone do yoga at home ? | Sep 19 2007 02:20 (UTC) |
|
I practice yoga both at home and in the most awesome studio. Since I have started, I see my body being rebuilt, restructured. I love it.
I do recommend some studio time with a professional instructor (someone with a several hundred hour teaching certification) so that they can work on your alignment. Proper alignment within the various asanas makes the world of difference and realistically can prevent injury and intensify a practice. |

I am sorta, maybe, kinda proud of myself. My boss brought in a sack'o'bagels...and not just regular bagels, Panera-type bagels as well as the cream cheese to go with them. I did NOT eat them. Instead, I skulked back to my little bit 'o cube heaven and noshed on a banana, conserving calories for Employee Appreciation Week lunch, a Philly Cheesesteak, minus the cheese.

| Starbuck (pictures in my gallery) has just returned from the Bark Park and is having a schnooze on the floor in front of me. Ping and Packet (cats both) are catching a beam, and Empress Cowcat is lying on top of Catopolis, the highest scratch post and de facto capital of Catlandia, warming her old bones. |

Hi there Ashalee, I understand how you feel, in the past...I had that nagging little bump in my stomach telling me that something was wrong. To chime in after so many, if you feel something is wrong, it is. I will be brunt: he is lying to you. There is no room in your relationship for him to even walk past a brothel (not that I don't respect the women within). You deserve more. Respect yourself more. You deserve to know that your sexual (and thus overall) health is secure and you are not exposed to any risk. Moreso, you need to know that your partner is true, and what you have, this partnership is real, and worth working toward. With one lying, I dont believe it is true. Please Ashalee, for your own sake, investigate, but do not believe the lies. |

| The Lounge | What does 'Family Values' mean? | Aug 31 2007 14:33 (UTC) |
15 |
In political terms it is definately rhetoric. Nothing more than a tool of rubric in which to emotionally inflame a populace. Quite frankly I am tired of its use in the grander political forum (among other venues) and the hypocrisy that always accompanies it. Realistically, however it is the notion that the stronger and more cohesive a family unit is, the better. To agree with hgreilrehtaeh, family first, including the sacrifices necessary and strategically. In my personal life, I approach this from a strictly humanist approach. I don't consider family values a strictly man/woman nuclear family necessity. A family can be as simple as two people or as broad as a community of hundreds who love, care and strive to remain cohesive and strong. |

| The Lounge | Any Pagans out there? | Aug 28 2007 03:14 (UTC) |

| Hi All! I thought I would chime in on this chat to count myself in as one of them thar pagans on the board. Hmmm, how to classify myself? How about Earth-atuned and Goddess aware? Does that make me sound too granola crunchy? I hope not, dang stuff is packed full of fat and sugar. :) Moreso I approach spiritualism through balance in all aspects of life and relationships. Every relationship be it with my well-adored husband, or any person or creature I meet and interact with. Respect is key. I cherish being able to strive towards acceptance of others, whether they share my old beliefs (call me old fashioned, wayyyy old fashioned *wink*) or not. I don't think it's crazy that I believe we can learn from all faith, ranging from totem spiritualism to orthodox judaism, passing go, collecting $200 and stopping on jainism before selecting a card from the shinto community chest. It's what makes us fantastic. And dangerous. And human. |

| Weight Loss | I'm really full but I'm craving an apple. should I eat one? | Apr 16 2007 02:28 (UTC) |
17 |
| Hi there Genx, Yes, eat the apple. Also, please use the handy calorie counter to make sure that you get at least 1200 calories a day. If you don't eat at least that (dependant on your height - use the tools here to determine that) your body could go into starvation mode, holding on to every calorie and causing other issues that have grave consequences. From what you said you have eaten, I suspect you are far below what you should be eating. |
