| IMO, toning exercises are the best way to slim thighs and abs. Pilates & Yoga are great for this too.
I have seen results with these things. Cardio does help strengthen the heart and burn fat, but toning (or strength training) helps build lean muscle. I workout at home doing a variety of toning exercises. Most of them I have found on the internet. If you "google" for toning workouts you will find plenty of ideas! |

| I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE WW!! Seriously, I do. I have never gone to meetings and done the public weigh in though. The first time I tried WW, I lost about 15 lbs in about 2 months. Recently, I have lost over 12. I really only use it to get myself back on track when I gain a few lbs. A friend of mine is doing it online and has great sucess. It really tricks you into eating better. You learn healthy portion sizes and you learn that you can eat tons, if you eat things that are good for you.
Plus, I am a teacher and Lean Cusines, Smart Ones and Healthy Choice meals have saved me from school lunch heck b/c they are quick, yummy (for the most part) healthy (except the sodium) and they have points values listed on the box. I have also used this site b/c I like being able to see my daily food log broken down into fat, calories, protein, carbs, vitamins, etc. |

| Hey bintzp, I too am 5'2" and I started at 136 in January. I hover around 125-126 right now. It has been a struggle to get where I am. I am very happy to loose that 10 lbs of fluff, but I would like to be around 120.
Keep up the good work and maybe we'll see 120 by summer! |

| I have a little less than 10 as my goal is 120. Right now I am hovering around 126. It seems like it took me forever to get below 128.
I am pretty happy as I am now, but I just want to get in better shape and continue to eat healthy. |

| I am 34 yrs. old. Today I weighed in at 126. I have lost 10 lbs since Jan 1. I went shopping today and bought size 6 pants! I have been in 8s and 10s for about 2 years. I can't see myself getting below 120. I am quite happy with myself as I am now! But I am going to keep eating healthy and exercising and see what happens. | |||
| Weight Loss | plateau. and then? | Mar 29 2007 11:40 (UTC) |

| I agree with united2gether! I weighed myself alot this month and I thought that I was in a plateau, but when I compared what I weigh today to what I weighed Feb 28, I am down 4 lbs. An Average of 1 lb a week. | |||

| I'm certainly not an expert, but I would say that you are not eating enough. If you are working out that much then you probably need more like 1300-1600 cal a day. I would try upping your cal for a week to see if you see a difference. | |||
| Weight Loss | frustrated :( | Mar 26 2007 11:29 (UTC) |
|
| I am in a similar predicament. I am 5'2" and have weighed 128 for over a month now. It is frustrating, but you have to look at where you were before. I like what I see in the mirror even though I would like to see the scale go lower. My body is way more toned than it was in January. It's just the stupid numbers have not really changed. I am hanging in there b/c I know that I am so much healthier now. I eat more fruits and veggies, drink more water and exercise. Do not give up. I'm not!

| Are you doing toning and sculpling workouts? If not I would add 2-3 of these type workouts a week.
Muscles weigh more than fat. So if you are building muscle you may notice that the scale does not move for a while. It may even go up a little at first. However muscle takes up less space so you are probably losing inches. Also, it seems that the closer you get to your goal weight the harder it is to lose. I have noticed this. I started in Jan with the goal to eat healthier, exercise and lose 10-15 lbs. I lost 4-5 lbs pretty quickly but the the last 5-6 lbs have been really tough. I am now officially 10lbs lighter! Over the past two weeks I have made it a point to eat less processed foods and eat more fruits, veggies, and whole grains. I have lost 3 lbs! Don't give up! Drink lots of water and eat healhty foods. |

| I find it cool that I no longer want Doritos! They even taste funny to me. I used to be a huge fan of cheeze-its, but I have not even had them much less wanted them in several months! I have a box of Thins Mints I bought weeks ago and I still have not opened them. I do still like the way they taste, but I want to save them for treats. Fresh fruit tastes really good to me and I can eat tons more of it than I can Thin Mints. | |||

| I'm 5'2" (close enough, right?). I am 34 and also mother of two boys. I weighed 130.4 this am. I am down from 138 in January. It has been such a slow process. I was down to 128.5 earlier this week, but I started my period. I hope that's why I am up. My goal is 120 (hence my screen name) but I really just want to be fit & healthy no matter what I weigh.
Are you guys finding the process of losing weight a slow one? It went fast until I reached the 130 range. |

| Weight Loss | wanting to start a 130 and under club | Mar 04 2007 13:18 (UTC) |

| I am 5'2" and was 138 in January. It has been a slow process but I am down to 128 today. If you just started I would not obsess about seeing the scale go down quickly. You want to loose 15 pounds and I assume that would be your ideal weight. It seems like it gets harder to loose as you approach that ideal. I know that it has taken almost a month for me to loose the last 4 pounds. I am not sticking to a 1200 cal diet. more like 1500 cal. I excercise a few times a week doing Turbo Jam & Sculpt workouts and I go to a Tae Kwon Do "boot camp" 2X week.
Maybe you should not weigh yourself for a week. I have found that weighing myself everyday can be discouraging. Especially when I was just starting. |
