| For just learning to accept myself and my body. At every stage of dieting. That it is okay if I'm not perfect, just to be the best that I can and to love myself, for what I am.
I will never be 100% happy with the way I look and feel. That is okay. I'm okay. Besure that every day I give myself a pat on the back and and say you did good today |

| She just might have better metabulism, but don't count her as healthy, just cause she is thin doesn't mean that she is healthy. I personally am glad that my body reflexs what I eat. I can visuly see that my body needs help, that there is somthing that I can do to fix it. When I eat better I feel better, it gives me the energy to go through the day.
Why do you think that she is on the couch, maybe she is not eating well and doesn't have the energy, or the will power to go out side and enjoy the day or go for a walk. With me trying to stay fit and healthy, I enjoy now the outdoors and like to swim in the ocean and climb trails, and play with my kids in the park. In a way I feel sorry for her. There is so much more to life then a twinky and a couch. I am truley thankful for my body and what I have to do love it and keep it healthy. |

| You are all right. Thank You. I do wear smaller sizes now. I am so happy to get out of the larger size. I feel better and look healthier.
It is the commitment that is hard. To finally say I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!! I know that I will be the one making the changes. If they are not ready to change, that is okay to. I need to be happy for myself and all that I do. TO all the others that never say anthing to me. Thats fine...and so am I cause I'm doing it for myself and NOT them Thanks |

| Thank you all. No i'm not really looking her up and down. It is just like, we were a mirror immage of one another and sense I refused to have my picture taken when I was heavier, I guess she is my "picture" if that makes any sense.
I glad that I have all of you to help me through, somtimes positive support helps me and when you see them and they don't say anything it is like "huh maybe it doesn't show" but I know that it does and the only person that I have to "measure up to" is myself. Thanks ladies |

| I Do water arobics for 1 hour 3 days a week. It will slim you down and tone you. You won't look like a body builder but healthy. When I started to do this it was the only thing I did for the 1st month. Now keep in mind that our instructor works us out really good, by doing laps, then arms and legs then abs. I one month I lost a total of 7 inches total. I measured my chest waist and hips.
I am still doing this with walking 6 days 2-3 miles and now sense Jan 9th, 18 inchs off total. My advise SWIM GIRL SWIM!!! It's just plain fun!!! |

| Fitness | Food - before or after workout? | Mar 12 2007 05:26 (UTC) |

| This is just me... but pre workout 1 hr. I will eat Toast or a bar, usually some kind of carb 100 - 200 cals. Then after workout, protein almonds, usually some milk, or grahm cracker, somtimes all of them depending on what I did and how much I burned. If I eat to close to my workout time, I feel sick to my tummy. NOT GOOD. You need to find out by trial and error. Then what you find works, stick with it
good luck |

| I just seen in a mag, about strech marks. Like you there is not much to have done but they suggest, tanning lotion, tanning bed or what ever. The darking of the skin helps not make them so noticable. My sister in law tans because of this reason also, it seems to work for her. I mean its not like their gone but, if you would like to wear shorter shirts or tanks, it might be an idea for you.
Best of luck, Holly |

| Now that we all know each other let's help each other with the weight. What do ya say. I will start.
Moving around to new places puts weight on me. When I was in S.C. I was 185 in dec 05. We get orders to Guam and now jan 06 I was at 210. Reality check, now in March I am at 190! The stress of moving is hard on me and my eating, that is how I deal with stess, I eat. So it is time for me to take control, and that is what I am doing and could not be happier. I am very proud of myself every day for exercising and portion control. I decited that I need to take time for me also and just not everyone else. Best thing that I ever did. I no longer eat when stressed. I found that working out, helps alot (Got to love the punching bag. HA HA) I am 5 feet 8 inches tall I weigh 190. I don't really have a "goal weight" I just want to live a heathy and happier life. I am on the right track!! |

| Guam is not to bad. The weather is just almost inbearable. Like you it is hard to do things outside. Cause we are so close to the equator the sun just beats down on you that if you don't have sun screen on, you will burn quickly usually within 15 minutes. The pacific ocean is always warm and comfertable, after the holidays are over it is a bit strange to know that you can go for a swim, and not freeze. But I am so sick of just wearing tank tops and shorts.
We have 3 years left and I am ready to go back to the mainland. Being on an island is very lonley if that makes sense. My aunt passed away recently and it is hard not to be able to go. If I was in the states nothing would have stoped mefrom going. Just way to far out in the middle of no where. But 3 years will pass and we will be back (thank Goodness) |

| Great job on losing the weight, you ROCK!!!
What base are you at in alaska. Do you use the gym there on base. I'm sure that it is to cold to be outside exercising, but if not what do you do outside. How many years you got there. My cousin lives in Alaska, by free will (haha) He loves to hunt and owns his eletric company. It hink that he has been there for about 10+ years now. Anyway blah blah blah. I will stop now. Have a good one |

| lilmissmuffin,
It is strange that omaha sticks out as a great place. I have been to many places in my life, it just seems to have a little of everything, I really miss the biking trails, I would go on them and never have to worry about a car coming. I love the fact that it has the old market. The wonderful zoo. Omaha playhouse. I miss having council bluffs near by. Like amaristar, not just for the gambling which I didn't do but the great acts that would come in. I truley miss our house in La Vista. To be able to paint a room or knock down a way was great. I had good friends, goodtimes, and great memories. |

| Kallie, I think that I did everything there and loved it. When my husband and I were pre-kids, we would always go down town. The slides there were wicked to say the least.
Old market is a very popular place. I knew a lady that lived in K.C. and would go to Omaha just for that. Ah speghetti works. There is no other place like that, gosh knows that in my time I have enjoyed a little to much pasta in my time. Don't eat much of it anymore, but if I was back there it would be one of the stops to eat. I think that when we retire in 7 (thank god ) years that is where we will choose to retire. There is just so much to do there. I love it and miss it very much. That has beeen the best base that I have been to. We never lived on base. We had a house in Lavistafor the 6 years that we were there. That I miss to. |

| I deffinetly miss omaha, the zoo was great and the playhouse, the malls having an interstae is missed being here in guam.
It is really nice having the ocean everyday, as an option to spend the day. The smell of the ocean air is truley wonderful. But I would kill for the main land. Guam is way to small and slow paced. The only main store from the mainland is K-Mart and I have never liked K-Mart then and really don't like it now. Although they are just starting to build a home depoe. Well it is somthing else I guess. 3 more years here is a VERY VERY LONG TIME though, and plane tickets back to the states are crazy high. Average is 1600.00 |

1st base was oklahoma (tinker) 2nd base Belleve Ne. (offett) 3rd base Chareston Sc 4th base Is right now about 1 year into our 4 year tour is overseas here in Guam. Small island in the South Pacifc. The island is about 35 miles long and 12 miles wide. We are about 5 hour plane ride from Japan and 21 hours from the east coast. It is HOT here year around. I Would love to go and play in the snow in N.Y. right now. Ave temp is 87 in the day and 78 in the night. It is so Humid it is hard to discribe. But being that we are about next to the equator, what can you expect. Our 5th and final base I hope for in the mid west. Maybe a state with 4 seasons. |
