| OK hey there youngsters. I'm 59 until August. I still have over 100 lbs to lose but have lost a total of 54 lbs since I started working on it. Only 30 lbs since I joined this site though.
I notice the difference. I was wearing 30-32 and now I wear 22-24 including the bottoms!!! I have even started walking at Walmart as much as I can before I get the electric cart. I usually make it at least 10 mins. A real improvement for me! |

| I fit into this catagory and will for quite some time I'm afraid. I'm down from 337 about 3 months ago to 285 this week.
I'm only losing about 1 pound a week now. It's really hard. |

| I have severe asthma and have to take oral prednisalone every once in a while and I put on weight but then it's easy to reverse the process after I'm off it.
I know in your case it make take quite a while longer but it will come off. Hope this helps. |

| Your doctor might want to check you for diabetes too. I hope not. Although low blood sugar could be the cause too.

| I'm 59 and was only able to walk 900 - 2000 steps a day when I first started because of my severe asthma and osteoarthritis. Now that I have lost 37 lbs I am walking over 2000 steps every day and was able to walk 2000 steps in 15 minutes with only 5 rests inbetween. But my back still gives out a lot. Oh and I still have to walk with a cane. I am so close to my short term goal of being under 300 lbs that I'm encouraged. | |||

| Oh how I wish I could be in your club but I weigh 301.2 soooo it'll be a long time before I get here but it helps to read your posts to keep me from feeling too bad. I haven't found a 300 club here yet. | |||

| Hi everyone. I lost another 3 lbs. I'm down to 301.2 lbs. My short term goal is to get below 300 lbs!! I really hope that next week I'll make it. I was able to walk 2000 steps in 15 minutes but I had to sit down 5 times while I was doing it. But that's more steps than I had been able to walk all day 2 months ago!!
I'm really happy about it all but still really worried about my daughter. She is so ill that she lost 11 lbs last week without trying. She had another test this one for her gall bladder and we'll find out the results Wed. Thanks for all your wonderful thoughts for us since she has been ill. |

| I couldn't find a 300 + group. Is it ok for me to join here? I only have 4 lbs to go to get to 299. So hope it's ok because I need all the help I can get.
I have already lost about 18 lbs on this site. Thanks for the help. I really need to know the calorie counts. I just recovered from a debilitating asthma attack so am trying to make up for lost time in my daily walking. I have to count my daily steps because I can only walk about 2 mins at a time before I have to rest for about an hour. |

| My woohoo I lost another 4 lbs this week which brings me to only 4 lbs from my short term goal of 299 lbs (under 300!) I have lost a total of 34 lbs since Nov. I am able to walk a total of over 2000 steps almost every day. Next week I'm going to aim for 2100 steps every day. I love those pedometers. I can only walk for a couple of minutes at a time so have to count my daily steps rather than the steps I can do without stopping. | |||

| You are a hero. I can walk a bit (about) 1 - 2 minutes at a time. I think you will do very well if you can just keep motivated. Every minute that you are able to sit up and work at the computer you are burning calories. I think it's equal to sitting studing quietly. So you are already doing more than you knew.
Keep up the good work and do try to keep foods that you like around you that are low fat, salt and calories. That's what I do and I've lost a total of 30 lbs since I started. Only 14 since I've been on this site actively though. I'm 59 so if you are younger you will lose a little faster. Bless you. I'll keep you in my thoughts. |

| Thank you all for your great information. I'm 59 so losing weight isn't as easy as it was before when I could walk a lot. Now I am happy to be able to walk 2-3 minutes without stopping.
I had gotten up to walking 5 minutes without stopping but hurt my knees because I did it twice two days in a row. Now worked up to 2 minutes without stopping. I celebrated by looking for this site when I lost enough weight to be able to buy my clothes at Walmart again. |

| I weighed 335 lbs when I started to lose weight but I think only about 320 when I found this site. I have about 157 lbs to lose now. I am soooooo looking forward to getting to "only" 299 lbs. Only 18 lbs to go to that "short term" goal so much easier than the 157 lbs to my ultimate goal.
I've been there before and started back up again even following what I had been doing to loase the 85 lbs and it was only a year until I was up to 300 again. Plus I had developed some heart valve problems. So I am really hoping that it'll work this time. |

| Thank you all for all the encouragement. I don't know what I would have done without it. I got my steps up to 1800 yesterday but today my right knee is swollen. I put an aspirine strip on it and have already by 9 am been able to get 3 walks to my kitchen and back.
My voice is starting to come back too! I think my daughters were a little glad my voice was not as strong lol (Just kidding my oldest daughter was worried) I put an aspirine strip on my throat and believe it or not that helped a lot with the pain there too. Since I'm not quite up to my usual activities I have had to go back to Slim Fast Shakes to keep my nutrition up between the times I feel up to getting regular food. It sounds stupid I know but I gain weight like crazy when I can't eat much. |

| Snow was cleared a couple of days ago. We don't have a hallway but I walk from my bedroom to the kitchen and back and that's 90 steps. I do this up to 2000 steps a day. I am finally back to 1300+ steps a day.
Thanks everyone. You really helped me when I was very depressed. I had my steps up to 2000+ a day and now back to only 1300+ but I'll get back there I know. |

| Some people only see what they remember. They may not even see you as you really are. I really pity them. You look in the mirror and know how very wonderful you look.

| Used that up long time ago when I was falling because of my arthritis. If I were to start falling again medicare would pay for it. Don't want to do that lol
My daughter lives with me and we have too much money between us to get any help. She has a lot of medical bills since she weighs more than I do. |

| I have to take 3 water pills a day so I know that the 14 lbs I lost in 2 weeks couldn't be just water weight. I have so much weight to lose that is just a drop in the bucket but it made me feel better. | |||

| Unfortunately I can't afford the membership fees for the Y that's why I started walking more inside my apartment. Whenever I have to make a trip to the kitchen or anywhere I walk twice. I've counted the amount of steps to the various rooms and use that to keep track as pedometers don't work for me. | |||

| No but the doctor would have liked me to start water walking since I have so little endurance. I can only walk about 180 steps at a time without becoming very short of breath. Oh I have exercise induced asthma. | |||
