hello,

Looking for a home. Been  a member of CC since Feb but been away for awhile. Starting weight was 308. Now at 266 lbs. I am so struggling. It is so hard. I take some different medications and found out I have an abnormal thyroid. Of course its hypo not hyper! They seemed to have straightened out my medicine now, but it is still so difficult to get passed where I am now. I have been at this weight for 1 and a 1/2 months. I am trying very hard not to be discouraged.

I do love the holidays,but dread the food celebrations. Anyone out there have some holiday prevention!

The doctor told me that even if I did the arm exercises and sat down during the dvd's that I would still benefit from it. So thats what I do. Maybe sometimes I get a little crazy and stand up and move side to side at the same time. But it has helped me, I can't do all those leg exercises, it's too much for me right now. But I'm hoping with time I will.  You and I started out pretty much the same weight and I think we are losing at about the same rate. So if you want to talk back and forth we can. I have been looking for a wieght loss buddy. So let me know how you are doing.

hi everyone,

just checking in to see how you all are doing. I'm still hanging in there. Had a few rough spots,but I'm still here. This is a new  month so I set my goal for 10 lbs. I really like being able to talk to other people and share stories. It's great!

romaine lettuce wraps

make tuna salad (light mayo if desired) add chopped onion, chopped green pepper, chopped celery. I add garlic powder(optional).  salt and pepper.

Spoon 2tbs in romaine lettuce. Add slices of tomato. Good!

And low in cals. Especially if you use light mayo. When I use light mayo, it is Helmans. I think it tastes the best out of all I have tried.

Been there. I feel for you. But the good thing is you are here. You have started in the right direction. So hang in there you can do this. If you have handled all the emotional stuff all these years, its your turn to do something for yourself. I wish you all the luck in the world. When you get down, just remember you are in a better place in your life, take a deep breathe, look in the mirror and say "I am going to do this"

Thanks for the words of encouragement. You have no idea how hearing from someone helps me focus. And you hit the nail on the head. While I am very excited to have lost 10 lbs, it all came to a screeching halt on 2/20. I have stayed exactly the same for 5 days. I refuse to give up, I know I will break this plateau.

I don't know what you exercise schedule is . But what I do is the days when I am not exercising or am sedentary. I reduce my intake. Having said that  I really don't think it is a good idea to go under 1200 calories a day.

When I started this, I talked to my dr. and ( I really wanted to do 1000 a day) but she talked me out of it. I have maintained about 1200-1300 per day and I lost 10 lbs, but now I have leveled out and am on a plateau. ( see above). So basically, the idea for me is to burn more calories in a day than I consume. I can't always do that but I still shoot for it. Hang in there the weight will start to come off.

natures own double fiber bread (toasted)with sliced tomato. sometimes I add oscar mayer sliced ham (in the yellow package) all of these are low cal low fat and it is filling.

Also I talked with a nutritionist and she told me to eat the kellogs allbran with yogurt bites if I wanted cereal. It tastes pretty good.

Hi Lyndsey,

I've only been here about 11 days, but I lost 10 lbs. I have alot more to go. It is a struggle. I think you will like this thread okay. There are some people who are very encouraging and friendly.

I wish you luck! You can do it. I'm here for the duration. I have about 160 more to lose. Its going faster than I thought. But it still seems slow. I guess I'm too anxious for the end result.

Too bad I can't be like "I dream of Genie" and just nod my head and make it happen.lol
