| anxious1 - think about where you were before you started - all the progress you've made...Do you really want to start from the beginning again? Yuck - that would be horrible. Summer hasn't even arrived yet...We've still got some time/fat to burn!!!
I have made it to about week 9 - still been hanging in there with RIU. Starting Monday I'm going to alternate RIU/BIU so that I'm not so afraid of BIU. I FINALLY made it one pound below my plateau that i've been at for 1 year...THAT's HUGE. I'm really excited to see if my body understands that Yes - i'm serious and NO - i'm not starving...so let it shed off now. I'm not going to weigh myself for another couple weeks - I think BIU coming in will be a big push in keeping under that plateau. Good luck everyone and have a nice weekend. |

| hi Everyone...I haven't posted for a while. I ended up with the nasty flu didn't work out for 4 days last week...yes 4 days. Been back on the last two and it feels great. I've still been stuck on RIU - still feeling like it kicks my butt. I think this week hubby and I are going to alternate for a while with RIU/BIU - then stick with BIU for a while.
I've totally surrendered myself to the fact that this is not a 6 week program or a short term solution. Yah - we can go really fast and hard and get where you want to be but if you stop at that point, then you have to start all over again. This is definately a longer term thing for me. Rather than stressing about how i'm going to feel in the next week or 6 for that matter...i'm getting excited about how great i'm going to be NEXT year. Can you imagine after a full year of exercise? WOO HOO! Good luck to all this week. |

| Oh my gosh!!! I just completed my first day of BIU. My hubby isn't working out today so I thought i'd take my lunch break and move to BIU. WHOA! Talking about moving it up a few notches. I'm going to say that I did great...although i did have to march in place a couple times during the lunge phase. What an incredible work out - i'm still shaking. Oh and the 8 more and THEN 8 more again WHOA - that's all i can say. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of this new one over the next few weeks.
Sweet_Tart - NOW i understand. I have a new respect for everyone after that! Keep it up and and just feel the fat dripping off of you! :) |

| I am in week 7 and feeling so great. I went back to SIU since my husband joined - and we are back on track with RIU. I feel that i have mastered RIU in that i can work out with hubby and have a conversation...He can't quite complete sentences...hahahhaha...but i can see improvement coming to him fast.
I was dropping my son off at school yesterday and someone came up to me and asked if i was losing weight because i looked awesome! WOO HOO!!!! That was all the motivation i needed. Even though the scale is only down like 3lbs...I feel myself shrinking. Even at the end of the day my pants are still loose! I'm going to stick with RIU through Saturday and then we're onto BIU for 3 weeks. Good luck to everyone today. BTW: I'm still off my starbucks kick. I've only had two in two weeks. I appreciate greatly the motivation I get from this forum. |

| Hi everyone...it's been a week or so since i posted. OK - I swear i'm going to measure myself. I could just kick myself for not doing so in the beginning...I actually didn't want to get discouraged if i didn't see results right away.
I think i'm in week 6 however still on RIU. I really get a great work out with this one. After reading sweet_tart's post that it was hard after 30 mintues of BIU - i'm afraid to try it...hahahahhaa! Do you all think the best time to measure if first thing in the AM? I can say that the scale is still not going down but i feel like i'm shrinking for sure. I'm looking forward to another 6 weeks out to see where i am at that time. Welcome to all the new folks...scooterchicken: you should do SIU for 1 week, RIU for 2 weeks and then BIU for 3 weeks... I'm too awaiting turbo jam to mix it up a bit. WOO HOO! California weather today is near 80 degrees - that definately keeps the motivation going...lighter clothes is definately right around the corner. |

| I completed RIU again yesterday...husband still doing SIU - I haven't tried BIU yet. I'm moving into week 5. I really wish I had measured myself at the beginning. I'm going to try and do that today. I haven't lost any weight but definately feel much toner. I'm not going to let this plateau win over me...I'm going to see it though and I want to feel the pounds melt off of me.
I'm still trying to stick aroudn 1200 calories per day. Yesterday I went to 1700 yikes...I had sorbet! I am still STARBUCK FREE! I mentioned going a couple times over the weekend...but didn't! I'm very proud of myself. I am beginning to have very sore knees - this has never happened to me before. I'm definately watching my form and don't seem to have a problem with that. Any advice? Geez - walking down my stairs in the morning is a killer. Happy Monday - We're all going to look so hot this summer! |

| Hi there and welcome to all the new members.
I am completing my 5th week woo hoo! I actually did 2 weeks of SIU - 2 weeks of RIU and then went back to SIU for this week to have my husband catch up. We are going back to RIU this weekend and then BIU. I hope i'm not negatively impacting the routine. I figure if you're working out and breaking a sweat it's ok. I too am counting my calories and trying to stay with 1200-1300 per day. I haven't lost any weight yet - but i'm pushing hard to get past the plateau stage that i've been in. At some point something must kick in and start bringing you to the next level. Jenny - I went to the my account area and entered in my info to get the recommended calorie per day count. If you enter all of your info there with the amount of weight that you want to lose it will give you a good idea. You should definatley be eating more calories though for breastfeeding. I know there is a lot of information out there from lactation consultants. I would check on that. Just adding a work out alone should start helping your body get back into shape. Congratulations on the new baby btw - :) Sorry for my long winded message - one question I have...Are you all taking 1-2 days off per week or going for everyday? Have a great weekend everyone. |

| Happy Wednesday everyone...I didn't think i would work out last night but after class my husband was ready to work out. We worked out from 9:30-10:30pm. No time is a bad time i keep telling myself.
Thanks for the starbucks support - I agree that it is merely a habit which is one of the reasons i'd like to get off it. I did NOT stop this morning - instead i came to work and had some oatmeal and water. I'm feeling very happy about that. I think i might give myself that coffee on the weekend. My problem is that i don't like coffee - so i have to get the high calorie items. I don't eat sweets too often and I stick to my vegetarian diet. I never eat/drink dairy - i do go for a bit of soy however. Good luck to everyone today!! |

| Wow - I'm in the 140 club also. Just started reviewing forums and joined another one for a work out program. Are you all doing something unique around eating and exercising? I'm working towards 130 and determined to stick with healthy eating and exercise. Always willing to pick up on other helpful tips. | |||

| Hi there...I went back to a SIU work out last night - still trying to let my husband catch up. Funny - it was actually hard and I found myself sore from all those squats again.
Aly, I'm with you on the bands. Sometimes I find the tricep work difficult. I too have free weights that i've been switching back and forth with. I find it to really work better mixing it up. I have class tonight and am already stressing about not working out. Been a rainy/cold day here in California - just want to eat lots of hot carbs :) So - I have been addicted to Starbucks - 400 calories a day of starbucks. Please tell me how terrible it is and why I should stop. I need some harrassing in this area, I'm ready for it. Good luck to everyone else on their work out today...Aly - good for you and your friend to comes to terms and handle the work out together. |

| Hi everyone...I completed my two weeks of RIU...Feels great! My husband started the program with me last week and we have gone back to SIU for a couple days...We will then proceed onto BIU. I'm very excited. It's like wow, i'm really heading into my 5th week. (i did two weeks of SIU) I neglected to measure myself at the beginning of the program...I can see a difference and am sure i've lost inches...That scale is NOT my friend right now! I think i'm going to do the same and only weigh in monthly. As long as those inches keep going down i'll be very happy. It just feels so great to work out.
Welcome to the new folks...Good luck. I also work out during the week after work - and on weekends in the AM. It's important to get time of day out of your head...no time is a bad time really! :) |

| Hi Everyone...I have to say that this is the very first forum that i've ever joined and I am having a great time with it. I was actually excited all weekend to check it today...Didn't go online at all over the weekend. I completed my first week of RIU. I have successfully moved into week 2. My husband decided to do it with me last night -that was cool. I may have a new buddy. I actually had parties on Saturday and Sunday and didn't work out either day. I was back in the swing of things yesterday and it felt sooo great.
I too dug up the routine from a gift given to me a long time ago...The makers - beachbody.com is actually my client and the folks there are good friends. I had lost my instructions and have done 2 weeks of each. I think that will work though. I also decided that i'm not on a 6 week stint...rather an everyday lifestyle. I do like the routines and really feel like i'm taking shape and getting a good workout. I'm not going to measure my results til around the 12th week. Happy New Year Sweet_Tart - SF was a very busy place on Saturday night. I've gotta keep working on the carb vs. protein mix. Being a vegetarian/no dairy either - it's not so easy. |

| Thank you for all the info on the calorie burn. I have just recently gotten into the calorie counting since I too can't seem to move the scale backwards. You mention doing cardio before or after...wow here I thought I was working so hard. I will have to try this for sure. Keep increasing the levels - i like that.
I am definately feeling obsessed with working out and that excites me. I am finally planning around working out instead of never finding time to work out. I love it. sweet_tart - enjoy las vegas - i was just there in November. Great fun! I want to be as fit as you appear to be...I will now use you as my inspiration. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend. |

| Hi there...Last night was day 3 of RIU. I found it to be easier on the cardio pull, but a bit harder on the muscles...they feel a little week and tired. That's not going to stop me though. I'm getting ready to get day four behind me in the next few minutes. I'm a little discouraged about the calorie comment of only 359 calories. I was doing the stationary bike for less time and burning that amount. I know it varies per individual and you sound like you're in great shape at 122 lbs.
I haven't actually measured myself and should probably do that to keep motivated. In just two weeks though i feel a change beginning to take place so i'm very excited. Sweet_tart - i'm up in Petaluma...going to be in SF on Sat night for a company party woo hoo!!! |
