Omgggg why did you have to mention nuts? Seriously, during the holiday season I think I gain 10 pounds all from nuts. I can only eat a few handfuls without my stomach feeling sick, but I always snack on them to the point of nausea because they're just so dang delicious! That being said, I love cashews, almonds, and pistachios the most... |

Mmm, dessert :) At buffet places, I honestly have three plates of desserts. It's really frightening. 1. Brownies (with ice cold milk) 2. Ice cream (though I prefer frozen yogurt) 3. Strawberry Shortcake 4. Angel Food Cake 5. Carrot Cake (I actually haven't had this since I was 1...I'm nostalgic.) 6. Lemon Meringue Pie 7. Vanilla Cake 8. Chocolate Cake |

Trader Joe's. It's not so uppity about its being organic and healthy; Whole Foods tends to play it up a lot. Though they're both really awesome places. :) |

| Weight Loss | How far in advance do you plan your menu? | Jan 29 2008 02:08 (UTC) |
|
| I plan for the next hour...haha! Don't you think going too far ahead would make you really irritable if they were messed up, as in an impromptu get-together with friends? It'd just make you really inflexible, I think...and kind of time-consuming. | |||

| Aerobic helps your metabolism for about a half hour after a workout, and strength training boosts it for 2-3 hours :) A combo of both is best. | |||

| Look up konjac noodles or shirataki noodles--they're ALL fiber, and 0 calories! I went to a korean market, and it sells packs of those noodles (no cooking involved, btw, just rinse) with sweet chili sauce and pickled radish, and it's DELISH. The whole thing is only 70 calories because of the sauce. | |||

| Weight Loss | !! Women's Metabolism Speeds Up During PMS !! | Oct 30 2007 06:13 (UTC) |
2 |
| Studies have demonstrated that the two-week period prior to the onset of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), women’s capacity to burn fat is at the highest level. Ironically, women don’t want to work out during this period because their bodies and its emotional computer are preparing for PMS. However, studies in Australia have shown that women were able to burn off as much as 30 percent more fat in the two weeks preceding PMS. Researchers explain that this happens because during this time the female body produces the highest amounts of estrogen and progesterone. These hormones control the body’s use of fat as a source of energy. Thus, exercising during this time pays off because the body will tend to use fat cells for catabolism. ----------I just Googled this! | |||

| Yeah, I've been in that boat before. When I lost nine pounds, my mom was constantly on my back about how I was wasting away, and now that I've gained it back, she's on my case about being fat. I'm 119 pounds, 5'4'', which I'm not comfortable with, but at least not horrified by, as she is. | |||

| That's all really good advice, but the whole point for her that day was to prove to me that I "wasn't going to die" from eating something unhealthy. And I know I won't die from fast food once in a while, it's just frustrating to have someone force it on you! And I should have just ordered a salad or something; if I was eating, she wouldn't have offered to "share." Honestly, though, I still really love In-N-Out burgers...and I like Boca burgers, but I think the veggie patties are too salty! | |||

| Haha, I even picked the bacon out because I don't care for it. I think it was the cheese or mayo that made the whole thing really horrible, for me. But when I was eating it I actually asked "Do I HAVE to?" And my mom said Yes, since me not eating it would ruin the dinner or something. | |||

| I LOVE CEREAL.
I used to have just a small bowl, about 150 calories. Then I went to a big bowl, about 200 calories. Then I went to a big bowl PLUS two hours of munching/TV in the morning, about 500 calories. So yeah. I can't stop! |

| Weight Loss | The "myth" that Asian girls are naturally slim | Jul 10 2007 22:17 (UTC) |

| Well, when I visited China two summers ago to stay with my grandparents, I lost weight. Not because of the pressure or anything, but the culture. People walk everywhere! And the food they eat is healthier. Even the desserts aren't anything as sweet as American cakes & cookies & stuff. I think most Asians aren't overweight partly because of genetics and partly because of lifestyle. It's not a coincidence that obesity rates have risen along with McDonald's franchises in Asia. | |||
