It definitely depends on the people involved.   I was almost 21 and my husband was 22.     That was 22 YEARS AGO!!   We still have an amazing relationship...I wouldn't have traded this for the world!

The Lounge Any medical coders here? Nov 26 2007

I took ICD9 and CPT Medical Coding courses (along w/medical terminology) at our local community college.  I really enjoyed these classes and I ended up as a receptionist at a medical clinic while I was still in school so they let me "practice" the coding that I was learning.  I completed these courses and then shortly after that I ended up quiting the clinic and going back to an accounting position.   I did enjoy the coding tho.  I say go for it !!

Weight Loss So tired of people offering me food.... Jul 26 2007

I just experienced "food offering" incident a couple days ago.  My husband and I are going to a car show in another town this weekend with another couple, she called me the other day and was telling me about what kind of food/snacks they were bringing, she said some other friends were going to be doing some chicken rolled in a beer batter and then broasted~it is so yummy and then she said so I'm going to bring a potato salad, so what are you going to bring?  So I said as nicely as possible, "I guess I'm going to bring something that I can eat!!"  She wasn't happy with that remark and said "oh good god, you can eat ONE piece of chicken"!

Weight Loss HELP! Regarding Weight Watchers Jun 27 2007

I started my weight loss journey using WW.  I was only allowed 17 pts per day!   They figure there is about 50 cal per point so that means I was only eating 850 cals a day!   I was always hungry too.  I don't know about other groups, but the one I was in really didn't teach anything about nutrition, they only focused on how many points each food had!   In fact one of the girls sitting next to me at a meeting said to me "ya know, rice krispy treats are only 2 pts!"  I had to explain to her that even tho it was only 2 pts...it was still CRAP!  She didn't get it.

When I grill pork chops I only use Montreal Steak Seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder.  and they are EXCELLENT!  Make sure you spray the grill with non stick spray first!  Oh and I do put the seasoned side down first and while that is cooking I do put more seasoning on the other side.

we just had salmon the other night. First time I have ever made any type of salmon.  Ours was seasoned with lemon butter BUT we used a cedar plank (you can buy this at the grocery store right at the meat counter.) to cook it on,  we cooked it part way on the grill but we were in too much of a hurry so we moved it into the oven to finish. It was so good!  You can get other types of planks to like hickory, mesquite etc.

I started WW on Jan 3rd and could NEVER stay within my allotted points for the day.  I found this site about mid Feb and have had WAY more success following this program.  WW is good but they dont teach you really too much about nutrition.  I have a friend that is doing WW and she eats stuff like rice krispy treats and says "its only 2 points" !  I was doing the same thing...still eating "bad" foods as long as I was staying in my point range I thought that was ok.   Hummm .. no wonder I wasn't losing any weight!  Now that CC has taught me how to make better food choices I am seeing 1-2lb weight loss every week.
