Of Course Chocolate Yogurt exists!! There is tons of it here in Germany, Chocolate yogurt, chocolate hazelnut yogurt, carmel yogurt, yogurt with musli in it even straticella flavor.
I usually stick with vanilla or plain lowfat though (hardest to find here) those are my favorites.

| Fitness | My butt has many issues | Nov 02 2009 21:09 (UTC) |

I carry my weight on my lower half too, and I have to say you really can't spot reduce. If what you want is to lose fat then you really do not have much choice than to lose it wherever your body decides to first and it will get around to the butt eventually. What you are doing now are great strength training and toning exercises but you need some cardio. And it may take a long time before your body is ready to give up that fat!! If it tends to be the first place you put it on, then it will probably be the last place you take it off. TO start you are a healthy weight for your height: GREAT! And exercising may or may not make you lose weight, but it should improve your physique if you keep up with it and watch what you eat. If I am looking to burn fat, I up my protein drastically because I will be working out a lot more. Seriously, to really have noticeable improvement in my butt/ thigh area I start running, and I lose fat everywhere else first too, so be patient. You can walk, run, swim, cross country ski, jog, ride a bike or do HIIT any of this will help, I would reccommend to do cardio at least 20 minutes at a stretch, a couple times a week. Good luck and don't get discouraged! :) |

| Fitness | Funny Things I've Seen At the Gym | Nov 01 2009 12:57 (UTC) |

That is not even close to the weird things I see. I live in an area where there are a lot of very, very conservative Turkish Muslims (yes they do exist but only outside Turkey). So the Women are covered from head to toes, with a Hijab and usually a shapeless heavy outer garment. No matter how hot, humid, wet ETC it is outside. I went to check out this womens' only gym here. And to my surprise there were several women working out, in long pants, long sleeve shirts with a turtle neck or mock turtle neck,a and a Hijab! It certainly wasn't cold in that Gym either so I can imagine that they were cooking under those head scarves. It just confused me though, I thought that the head covering was so other men did not covet a women because of her beauty, I did not think it applied to women also. Maybe they were afraid of lesbians? In any case, I kind of regret not checking out the locker room now, because I am curious if this gym was supplied with changing booths and private showers for the women to change in. There was a sauna also.... which really raises some questions for me...... |

| My advice in stretching: if you are doing it at home do not stretch together with someone who you are very attracted to and is attracted to you in return because it may mean your workout will be delayed for an hour or so (in my experience). | |||
| Fitness | why do I smell like peroxide? | Apr 01 2008 21:38 (UTC) |
10 |
| It could be a reaction to your skin ph and whatever you are wearing that is scented.
For example... Ilove the smell of Clinique happy Heart. But when I tried it on, it smelled terrible on me. My friend it smelled great on. Another example is that I can not use the Dove fresh scent stuff... it really smells bitter on me. Like very very cheap scouring powder. Try changing up your products it may help. |

| I feel your pain. So many times when I was working I was always the one who had to work on weekends, people told me... well you don't have any family you have the time to or I would be the one working holidays... yes that includes Easter and Christmas because I did not have kids. Or I would work overtime.... I missed my own going away party when I left for Europe because I did not have any kids and I could sacrifice the time... I had told work about this months in advance and planned it, but those with kids will always trump a single. I respect those that have children, but you know sometimes I really wish that I was treated like more than half of a person by people with children. Just because I don't have children doesn't make me less of a person. |

| Fitness | Why don't you look like a fitness model? | Mar 27 2008 22:27 (UTC) |
13 |
| I agree with bodyscience that genetics has a huge role to play in it. Everything from the length of you legs to the specific places of origin and insertion of your muscles can affect the amount that you can lift and also the way you look.
Obviously tricks of the trade are a big part of it too. I am no fitness model but I have gotten down to around 10% bodyfat .... and I did not look like a fitness model. While I am able obtain an enviable quad sweep I do not get defined abs that is unless I went on a bender drank a lot of vodka and woke up with a hangover, lets just say dehydration does wonders for the look of the abs, but the headaches are a bitch. :P |

| Do not take anything to heart here. I am a gym rat and I got to say that for me the only person that I compete against in the gym is me. That is why I like it. When I get back to the outside world then I get intimidated because then I have to compete with everyone else.
Everyone has different goals and I think everyone here can respect that. And keep in mind everyone's body responds differently and everyone is built differently. Goals should be personal to you. Concerning the pink dumbells.... the beef most of us have here is that so many women are afraid to lift wieghts because they think they will bulk up.... most of the time it just doesn't happen unless you have a glandular problem or are taking steroids. Ask the guys in the gym, it is hard to put on muscle mass a lot of them really have to work at it. Special diet, special routine and suppliments all contribute. |

| Fitness | Bruised from Squats! | Mar 26 2008 22:10 (UTC) |
2 |
| This sounds familiar!
I used to work at UPS and I had a lot of bruises on the tops of my thighs from lifting. However it was not from lifitng itself.... it was from balancing wieght on my thigh above my knee. Are you sure that when you are taking on and putting on wiehgts you are not balancing the wieghts on your thigh? Becuase you will get bruises fast from doing that. Other than that if it is not that, then most likely you have torn a blood vessel in your leg. It can happen easily enough... I know guys who have tore them in their chests after trying to benchpress quite a bit of weight. Try uping your vitamin C and Calcium intake. It helped me to heal and ward off future bruises (no matter what the origin). |

| Fitness | Anyone else in love with Winsor Pilates? | Mar 26 2008 22:01 (UTC) |
|
| I like Winsor Pilates and I have the sets but my favorite pilates is with Jennifer Kries. It is based more on form, something which Mari Windsor really does not spend a lot of time on. I find Windsor is good, but if you spend a little more time learning form you will get so much more out of it. | |||

| 169 is not bad but my heartrate is usually something closer to 185-190 when I do HIIT.
I do it on a treadmill and I have yet to go flying off...and I am an eliptical devotee I love it. But the nice thing about a treadmill is you can't be lazy... when it is going fast you run. I find I am just too lazy on an eliptical to do HIIT. |

| Weight Loss | I have no idea how to diet healthy | Mar 19 2008 17:08 (UTC) |

| The no candy, sweets, cookies.... I can't do it. Sorry, if I went on that I would fail miserably.Leave yourself some leaway, epecially if you have not had a lot of luck previously.
This is a lifestyle change afterall, not a diet! I mean if someone told me that I could only have one tablespoon of fat a day and not cookies for the rest of my life.... well lets just say I am not sure that life would be worth living withouot chocolate.I made smaller changes that added up and worked my way up to a healthier diet. I cut my fat intake by using a cooking oil spray when I sautee something. I keep water handy at all times, and I don't get a lot of calories from drink period, it is too easy to rack up a lot of sugar and calories from a fruit drink. I stopped buying bread from the store unless I am desprerate, that way I know what I am putting in it, I can add healthy things like whole wheat, and bran into bread and keep it low fat, even my cookies tend to get a dose of bran or whole wheat. Another thing is to experiment! Vegetables are all so different, and there are so many different ways to cook them and make them tasty. If you see something new and interesting in the produce section.. try it you never know it might become a staple. As for fruits.. have things cut up and ready for snack attacks. And overall try and cook things for yourself if you can...this helps so much because then you know exactly what you are eating. And if you have no junk food on hand chances are you will not eat any.... except chocolate in small amounts.... because life has to be worth living. ;) |

| Weight Gain | Muscle or fat??? How do you tell the difference? | Mar 15 2008 14:49 (UTC) |
2 |
| I beg to differ.
Your legs are most likely muscle. As for the chest, my chest increased an inch or two at around age 20-21. It was not fat either, I was at 10% body fat, it was just that my chest deepened a little (I geuss I was a late bloomer). No matter how low I go my chest has never decreased.I am thinking it literally grew in Bone and whatever else. |

| Fitness | Mesomorphs - women who bulk up. Anyone in the same boat? | Mar 14 2008 12:30 (UTC) |

| I gain muscle very easily and I retain it easily too. Lucky ME :) Last year I tried to get my weight down to around 110-113. yeah, that is not gonna happen. I realize that in order for me to be this size and weight I would have to lose a lot of other things besides fat like bone density, and muscle... possibly even brain matter if I were dumb enough to try and get that low again.
But I like the fact that I have thighs that could crush a supermodel. That being said I feel your pain, Instead of eliminating my weight lifting routine I have added something to lengthen out those muscles and give me more flexibility... so I won't waddle like those over-muscled guys who look like they are so tight that a bicep could snap if he reached to far over his head. I added pilates. I am sure Yoga would be a good option too. But you know I have seen added strength, tone and a smoother form. I would try it might help you! |

| The Lounge | No Boobs | Mar 12 2008 20:19 (UTC) |

| Yup been to Vickies so many times it hurts. I have spent hours at a time in various stores trying on everything, They just don't fit me, it is not so much the bands it is the cup itself, they are too deep and close together. See if you have bigger boobs you can do a lot more with them, smush them together lift them... they are a little more malliable. I need a shallower, wider cup if I try to put my boobs into an A cup at victoria's secret what happens is what I call the coconut bra effect. The bra sits on top of my boobs instead of my boobs actually being able to go into the cup. I can not squeeze them very close together because there just isn't enough enough soft squishy boob to push together.
That being said I really really like my breasts. I think they are perfect and I would never get implants. I just want to find bras that are sexy, and fit without being overly padded. It sucks that in the A-section everyone seems to think that you need bigger boobs so most of the bras are heavily padded. I know what size I am too ;) I am a seamstress , I have been sewing for about 17 years and I have my own dressmaker's dummy so I am pretty confident that when it comes to measurements I know what I am |

| Weight Loss | How do you deal with other people's comments on your weight? | Mar 12 2008 20:07 (UTC) |
12 |
| I am not good at this I tend to make snarky mean comments if people criticise my weight.
So if someone said "Putting on a little weight aren't you?" I would probably respond with "You are as Couth as you are beautiful" or "Well you know people change over the years, some of us put on weight, others make thoughtless, stupid comments. " You probably should not use those.... but seriously, I think you will be fine, most people's metabolism drops when they go to college and you put on a little weight and later you adjust to your new lifestyle and metabolism and lean out again. |

| Weight Loss | Is weight really just a number? | Mar 12 2008 19:51 (UTC) |
|
| Geez you guys are really great.
That UPS picture is old I no longer drive for them because I now live in Europe. Even when I am not active I retain a lot of muscle mass so I know why I weigh what I do. I try and stay active and go to the gym when I can, (and when I can afford it, the dollar has dropped so far in value here in the Czech Republic, that everything is about 25-30% more expensive here than it was when I first came). I am just a little insecure about my weight when I am here, the girls here tend to be a lot taller and thinner than in the states. And it is weird because people who are roughly the same size tend to weigh a lot less than me.... like 10-20 pounds less (I am not kidding) , even the taller girls tend to weigh less. I sometimes think if I went swimming in a Czech Swimming pool I would sink like a rock to the bottom because I am so much denser than they are. I suppose that what I really wanted to get at is just that Sometimes I think that weight loss goals are a little..... arbitrary. I see people here talking about trying to lose those last 3 pounds and just starving themselves and working themselves into a froth at the gym for sometimes years to try and reach their goal when they never take into consideratin wieght gain from lean muscle. It is just riddiculous to me that someone can live on a diet in vain, not even enjoying exercising and eating anymore and being frustrated because of those stupid 3 pounds. For example I will never be 110 pounds, which was my original goal unless I lose a LOT of muscle, after I realized that I adjusted my goal a few pounds up, I mean at 118 I once had a 10% body fat reading..... this is probably because instead of cutting calories I just excercise more.. weight lifting and cardio. |

| Weight Loss | Is it healthy to eat in minimal amounts??? | Mar 11 2008 06:34 (UTC) |
|
| You are exactly the same weight and height that I was in High school. But I ate a lot more, we did a calorie counting excecise in my Human Anatomy class and I had a calorie count of about 3000 in a day! I did not put on weight because I was a teenager and my body was still growing, and since I was active I needed those extra calories. At your age you need it too, I did not decrease my calorie intake to a "normal" level until I was 20 and started to notice my metabolism drop.
And to answer your question, you probably will feel less tired if you ate more. |

| You know. I love Butter. That being said I am a dairy farmer's daughter... our family eats a lot of butter, no one is over weight, and no one has high cholesterol. Anyway, fun fact, Margarine had restrictions on it in Wisconsin until 1967! Another thing about margarine, it was created by a Frenchman from Provence! I bet you would have never geussed that with the french fame for "good food" and "skinny women". |

I am sorry but 120-115 is the really low end of the scale. What calculators are you using? Unrealistic standards, not all of us are made of fluff. Maybe you should be proud that you maintain your body so well that you look better than MOST people that weigh less. |

I could not pay someone to go to the prom with me! seriously, I tried paying someone to take me to prom! However all of the heavier girls (with boobs) had dates...not me. Moral of the story: 1> teenagers are idiots no matter where you go or what you look like 2: being thin does not solve all of your problems |
