| Fitness | Any big girls who run? | Mar 23 2007 18:43 (UTC) |

| You are way ahead of me! I was trying to follow a "learn to run" schedule I read in one of these threads. It suggested walking 3 minutes, running 1 minute for 3 miles. It is really hard for me to even go the one minute. I ended up only doing 2 miles.
I keep telling myself that if I stick with it it will get easier. I've always been jealous of runners. |

| Weight Loss | what kind of bread do you eat? | Mar 22 2007 11:36 (UTC) |

| I buy Healthy Life 100% whole wheat bread. Is is also 99% fat free and is only 35 cal/slice. It taste great. The kids have even asked my to only buy that kind of bread because it tastes better than the white bread they are used to. It does cost a little more. About $2.39 a loaf but it is SO worth it. They do have a website.

| I was going through the same thing you were. When I got home from work, I wanted to pick at anything and everything. I then changed my workout schedule from before work to afterwork. I can sleep in a little longer now and I have my dinner after my workout which makes me think twice about what I put in my mouth. I don't want all that hard work to be for nothing. | |||
| Weight Loss | Loose Skin... | Mar 21 2007 20:08 (UTC) |

| I will tell you what a doctor told me. I am 120 pounds lighter than I was several years ago, but still have 75 pounds to lose. I have hanging skin on my arms, thighs, and stomach. According to my doctor, there was nothing I could have done to avoid that. Some people have skin which has more elasticity than others.
When you have a ginormous weight loss, unfortunately that is what you get. Don't dwell on that. Be proud of your accomplishment and work on finding flattering clothes. You are a much healthier person now! Celebrate! |

| There is a great recipe on here for an egg/mushroom/broccoli casserole. I will also add green peppers, onion, chopped tomatos. You can have 1/4 of an 8" pie for 300 calories. | |||

| When I first started I was the same way. I really had a problem with portion control at dinner. Now I fix myself a Lean Cuisine and if I feel like I need to eat something later, it's usually a piece of fruit. I think I want to eat in the evening just out of habit. At first, when I felt like I wanted to eat later in the evening, I just went to bed. Now, after about 6 weeks of counting calories and excericising, I rarely have those urges. | |||
| Weight Loss | Is anyone 5'11? | Mar 13 2007 14:54 (UTC) |
4 |
| I am 5'11" and I can't remember the last time I weighed 140 lbs. That seems a little low. 25 years ago, when I got married, I weighed 155 lbs. and people told me I looked too thin. If people find you underweight, why do you think you need to lose 10 more pounds? I think you might be pushing it a bit. | |||

| I am 5'11" with a current weight of 252. My highest was 370 pounds but you won't find any of those pictures. I don't know that any still exist. I have had gastric bypass but cannot seem to keep the weight off. I have started taking diet and excericise very seriously and I am down 20 lbs since February 1st.
I always considered myselft big boned but I guess I'm not since my fingers overlap on the wrist test. I always figured my bones were at least a size 12. I am shooting for 170 pounds but have concers about hanging skin. I already have some of that from my first major weight loss. This past weekend we had beautiful weather in Indiana so I headed for the nearest track and did 3 miles on Saturday and 4 miles on Sunday. I also added some jogging. I could tell a big difference just from Saturday to Sunday in the distance I was able to go without stopping. I'm kind of fond of oxygen so i'm not jogging great distances yet. Hopefully I'll be able to keep increasing my distance. Yeah for all the big girls! |

| rfosteriii mentioned cutting salt out of his diet. Can someone explain how this will help. I know that salt makes you retain water, but it has to leave eventually.
I don't have high blood pressure and i drink tons of water. Will cutting back on my salt really make that much of a difference in my weight loss? |

| Thanks for info. That makes sense.
I guess I am lucky. I'm about 100 lbs. overweight, not diabetic, perfect cholesterol, perfect blood pressure. I just feel like crap all the time. I should say I felt like crap every day. Since I started counting calories and working out everyday on Feb. 1st, I have an abundance of energy. |

| Defenitely it's for the company! It's a graduation gift from my mom to my daughter. Just the 3 of us. 3 generations. We will have a blast.
I'm with you on the alcohol. I don't drink it so that won't be tempting. I will try to stay with fruits, veggies and grilled chicken and fish. I'll let you know! |

| Hello fellow amazons! I'm fairly new to this. I don't post a whole lot but I read nearly everything. (Knowledge is power!)
I am 5'10" and weigh 255 lbs. My goal weight is 175. I changed my lifestyle drastically on Febuary 1st and I'm down 18 lbs. I leave for my first cruise in 30 days. I'm a little worried about what will happen during the cruise when food will be everywhere. Has anyone else faced this challenge? Any suggestions? |
