First of all: Green is my favorite colour so yay!

Second of all: Hi Angie Marge and Gwen! :)

I'm Amelia, 18 years old and from Canada. I'm 5'8.5" and currently weighing about 225. My whole life I've been a "big girl" I can remember always putting myself on strict diets and exercise programs, even as young as 6-7 years old. Of course, I never knew the proper way to healthily diet back then, so my ideas were far too crazy and I'd never last over 2 days.

Honestly I've never been on a successful diet. I know how to diet, I've  learned a lot about how your body digests, how to exercise properly, and such. BUT I'll do well the first two weeks, then I'll cut myself a little slack on the third, and a little more on the fourth... until I've gained back everything (and then some!) But here's to changing that, and become the healthy person I've always wanted to be! This will be my first time in a Biggest Loser Challenge and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone and staying motivated! GO GREEN!

sorry, I do tend to ramble. :)

Hello hello!

Welcome to all our new members :)
Good to see our group growing!

The cottage was funnnn. Didnt do as much hiking as I would have liked, but tried to stay on track.

This has been a week of entirely NO COUNTING... for shammeeeee.
And because of that here are my standings:

SW: 232
LW:225.2

Current:225.4

Weight lost: -.2

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

this week, I'm going to do it right!

Anemos: I've neen thinking about rewards for myself too, i think when I reach my first goal of being in, 'one'derland as they say, will be an ipod touch. It's a little bit of a lavish reward but I really want one, so what better motivation? hehe

Finally: An official under25 Hello to Kellee and Deja_voo! :)

Last Week: 226.2

Current weight: 225.2

Pounds lost: 1

Pounds left to goal: 26.2

When I hopped on my scale at first this morning, It told me 229! I was so disappointed! but then when i got on a second (and third and fourth) time it told me 225.2.

I'm pleased. I didnt have a very good week for counting or exercise,  i really have to make myself exercise more!

woooo-eee!

lots of newcomers since I've been on this last!!

welcome to: Tal, dpgclb562, onestepnaya, Rachael, Morgan, Sarah, & Sunflowers_daisies!

Tal/onestepnaya: our Weigh in day is Friday.

ok. so my "vacation weekend" is over now. I'm not dissappointed in my behavior, i never planned to be as much as dieting this weekend as just keeping control and making good choices :). I think I did well... apart from the overindulgence in drinks last night! :P But for the amount of times that I do go drinking (only the second time this summer) I'm ok with it.

haha. Maybe its that attitide that gets me off track/off the wagon so much haha!

I'm going to go for a walk now after I do some laundry though (I hope. the exercise is now competing with an ittybitty hangover) so I'll catch up with you all later on! :)

ok so its not so much friday anymore... but I DID weigh myself yesterday!

Start weight:232
Current weight:226.2
Pounds left until goal:5.8

whuut? I'm guessing I was retaining water when i weighed myself last week for the starting weight. but I'm pleased!

this weekend I'm hardly even trying... oops. I'm getting a good bit of exercise, but not on purpose exactly haha. So starting Monday I'm going to need to cut back to about 1300-1400 (from 1600) and amp up the exercise to balance myself out.

good job everyone! and welcome to Janz and Ree!

hello hello.

welcome!

I've been a bit of a ghost here lately, but I'm glad to see everyone is doing fine. I had a bit of a slump these past couple days, they have not been necessarily bad ones though. Just hanging out with friends non-stop and not having counted for 2 days straight! (but its under control! ;) )

I bought a scale today. woo-hoo! haha I was getting sick of my stupid analog one! I am no longer "greater than 224 but less than 227" but a delightfully accurate 225.6! Luckily my scale has a funky little programming feature that  tells me  that I'm obese (for my height, age and gender) in big old letters.

But I'm a work in progress... I'm down this week from 232! like 6.4 pounds!

Finally, I just wanted to share with you a method I use to keep my sanity: I write a once sentence journal every night.  I have been writing one on a personal level for a few months and I think its really wonderful to keep a record of events, feelings, and revelations in my life.  I've started a second, weight loss oriented one as my journal on this site and its really great for me for motivation! I really recommend it. Just everyday, make a statement about your life as a loser, gainer or maintainer and thats it! And then, in a years time, when were all beautiful(er) with the bodies of our dreams (or at least still working on it!) we can look back and take from the mistakes, and achievements were making right now.

Welcome Jessie-Leigh!

I really love to run and I couple of years ago I started the couch to 5k plan.I really enjoyed it, has anyone else done that?

but now I think I'd be far too embarrassed to run outside again (not to mention there are hills everywhere where I live) so I'll have to start on the treadmill until I can build up some stamina

Vegetarian Let's swap stories! Aug 07 2009

Worst that picking off the pepperonis is when people try to get me to eat chicken/turkey soup or whatever, but just pick out the meat, the broth is made from animals too!

My family is really weird about it. I've been vegetarian since March of this year, and my Mom still forgets sometimes when she cooks a meal, well, not so much anymore, just when we have company over for supper, I have to remind her to put a veggie burger on the grill or whatever.

Actually one time at the dinner table she asked if I would eat corn. I was like "...yes, its a vegetable, (or fruit maybe?)" and she was like "well i dont know sometimes because you dont eat fish" Fish= living creature. corn= plant.

hahaha.

Another time at a family get together everyone had these gourmet ribs on the barbeque and I brought my own veggie burgers. Fine and dandy, I dont care that they were on the same grill, or that my uncle put on the same barbeque sauce... although my family kept asking me to a point of ridiculing "if it was ok if..." "if I would still eat it if..." I even heard them making fun of me when they thought I wasnt around, (I was in the kitchen, where the window was open to the deck) saying that I was so picky I wouldnt eat regular bread. to which I laughed, because I am the least picky person in my family by far, and the buns I brought (only because we were at a cottage that didnt have any already) were just these thinner ones that I've been eating for years now.

Firstly, welcome to the group sibylisvain & caiteliz !!

Applemilk, that sounds alot like handball... is it similar? I used to play that but a loong time ago, in like junior high and elementary gym class. I loved it! hehe

Back in High School, haha rather 3 months ago, I was fairly active, and now I'm afraid that at 210-230 pounds in my high school years, THAT will be the weight I look back on as my "fittest" which is kind of scary and a huge motivation!

I was on the ice hockey team ( I joined on a whim, only having skated before, when I was in grade 10 I was absolutely, but i improved to just an uncoordinated mess ) dance team, and I took dance classes outside of school. I had been dancing since i was 4 and it became a HUGE part of who I am. But I always told myself that once I graduated, I would quit because it costs my parents a lot of money, and I need to focus on studying. I actually get pretty emotional thinking about it... I was a near 230 lbs ooof trying to pass for a ballerina, but my weight didn't matter to me, I'd stand next to my classmates, most absolutely beautiful and 110 lbs, but as long as I was dancing, it didn't matter.

rrrrrrambling again, sorry

Well seeing as I'm the only 5'9, you will all need to get 2 inch heels then.(just so were even)

I was just bowling with my friends... that was fun.. but hardly exercise haha. especially when you factor in that even if we were there for an hour, I only bowled for a third of that. :P 104 calories burned.

But I may now go take a walk up to the drugstore to buy a few things.  Exercise is way more fun when it ends in new makeup! :)

P.S: Welcome scbabe!

hey guys! it's good to see that we have a little group starting off here!

we'll make next Friday officially week one for weigh ins, thats the 14th. :)

so to start up some converstation here:

What do you like to do for exercise?

for me, I've just been walking. The weather has been so so nice lately and I cant help but take advantage. I start at University in a month, and gym membership there is part of the tuition (only $40 a semester!) so I really hope to be taking advantage of that too. But I'm not sure what its like there... so maybe i'll end up joining the one near my house anyway.

oh yeah...i ramble alot

I usually pack my own lunch but for when I leave my lunch at home, my school isn't too too bad when it comes to healthy foods.

they have a delicious grilled chicken burger on whole wheat mmm.

but they do weird things too like we have these wraps, which wouldn't be too bad except they come loaded with sauce and for some reason they use butter to close the ends? it's soo nasty and plus they're like $4!
