1000 micrograms = 1 milligram, and 1000 milligrams = 1 gram

milligram is abbreviated mg

microgram is abbreviated mcg or µg

Hi Cupid!

Good stuff - venue and dress are v important! I sorted out the cake (check it out... http://www.toptiercakes.com/index.php?module= photoalbum&PHPWS_Album_id=7&PHPWS_Pho to_op=view&PHPWS_Photo_id=126) this w'end. Invites need to go out soon, so I've been getting the artwork for that organised.

Feeling pretty on top of things but same as you, feeling a bit impatient with myself. I've been good, sticking to my food/exercise regime. I feel much better - not bloated or tired - but I wish the pounds would come off faster! I'm trying not to worry about the pounds, if I keep going, they'll come off!

Good! I think I might be needing someone to help me and listen to my stressing! I will, in return, respond with appropriate listening, motivating and ass-kicking skills, as required...

You must have a lot to do to get organised, only being engaged a week. I've had a year (nearly) and I feel like I've left too much to the last minute!

Hey Cupid,

You and I are totally in the same boat... I get married on the 16th Nov!
(at Loch Lomond in Scotland... You?)

I'm 5'9' and want to lose about 15lbs for the big day. I don't have a defiinate number, all I know is I want to be less than 70kgs! I also weight train 3+ times a week, so I know what you mean about building muscle - but I like the way my overall shape is changing because of it. You're so right, on the big day no one will know what you weigh, all they'll see is how good you look!

Can't believe you only got engaged a week ago! Action stations!
Good luck!

See you in the chat room from time to time?

Wink

Coach said it...

How is it you are worried about whether you are "getting enough protein", when you are eating so few calories? You probably aren't getting enough vitamins, minerals or nutrients either...

Your profile said that you lost a lot of weight before and gained it back?  And that you are determined to not make the mistake of gaining the weight back again? Eating such a small amount is hard to keep up.  I suggest upping your calories and eating a range of foods would make for a more sustainable change to your lifestyle.

Motivation "Brides To Be" start a motivation/support group? Aug 18 2007

Thanks, tootsie! I have been stressing about whether I have left it to late. I've been very good over the last few months - then a fortnight in Dubai visiting my sister put a huge dent in my progress! But it was a good holiday! ;0)

Gosh, Debra! I wish I was as organised as you!
Checking things out the next day!
I had to be practically dragged screaming to a dress shop! Anyway, got a dress, now I just need to concentrate on looking fabulous in it!

Nice to meet you guys! Smile

Let's keep track...

hello ladies,

I'm also due to get married - a bit sooner than you guys!
16 Nov '07! 12 weeks today! Yikes!

I've got my dress, and look 'ok' in it now, but would like to shift ±7kgs in order to look 'fab'!

I'm 5'9" and currently weigh 76kgs...
(I want to be in the 60's even if it's the high end!)
I realise this might seem a little ambitious, but if I lose a pound a week for the next 12 weeks then I'll be over the moon (and under the 70kg mark!)

I'm also trying to stick to 1400 cals per day and go to the gym 3-4 times a week - 45 mins cardio & 60 mins weight training

i know that one only too well! I love raisin bran! Could be worse - could have been cake! At least you've got plenty of fibre - be sure to drink lots of water!

zulu is right - forget it. No point in sabotaging yourself by saying "oh well, that's today ruined. Start again tomorrow." I know that I feel bad for having deviated and then I just carry on eating. It's a glitch, we all have them!

Mine was in the form of a choc brownie with ice cream...
Went out to dinner on Sat night with 900 cals to spare...
Went nuts and ate twice that...
Bummer!

Goodness, you must have some willpower to make pizzas all day and not eat them! Mind you, I used to work in a diner and I can hardly look at a burger now!

If you are in the middle of your walk when you are feeling weak then maybe you should have a bigger snack an hour or so before you go. I know that if I don't have something (banana or fruit juice) I don't have the energy to put into a decent workout. Also, maybe try a less strenuous route? Getting out of the exercise habit might exacerbate the problem.

A multi-vitamin is a good idea - maybe you are lacking iron? Anaemia makes people feel weak/tired. Seeing a doctor might be a good idea, but if that isn't an option, a pharmacist might be able to provide some advice. (My sister was recently put on a geriatric vitamin - a bit insulting at 28, but the high dose vitamins really helped her.)

Maybe try a bigger snack, a smaller walk and the vitamins for a fortnight and see how you get on. If things don't improve, consulting a professional is probably a good idea.

Keep well... ;0)

Hi Redflag,

One would assume, because you are feeling so weak, that you aren't getting enough to eat - but it sounds as if you keep track of your intake quite carefully. Do you feel any better on a 2000-a-day?

Are you sleeping ok? Sometimes a 15-20 minute "powernap" can make the world of difference to energy levels (if you have the time).

I don't think you should give up walking, exercise helps combat tiredness. Don't overdo if you feel weak.  Maybe a nice big glass of OJ when you start to feel tired will give you a boost, and since you are trying to maintain, you don't have to feel guilty about adding some healthful calories.

Hope you feel better soon...

When I go to the movies I allow for a treat (usually a Snickers bar) - which I get beforehand so that I'm not studying all the food options at the cinema! - and I buy a big diet coke, so that I'm not deprived of the ritual of buying something for the movie.
