| Health & Support | Ambien... | May 01 2007 14:20 (UTC) |

| I used to work in child protection and one of my cases was a woman that was sleep walking and her kids found her cutting her arm with a butter knife. She didn't hurt herself, but her roommate freaked out and thought it was a suicide attempt and called social services. She was on ambien and didn't remember any of what happened. The courts didn't believe this, so I had to assist her in completing a case plan to get back custody of her children. I tried to bring in evidence that showed what had happened, but no one believed it. ambien is scary stuff. | |||

| hi! I don't have fibromyalgia, but do deal with the physical symptoms of depression. I am currently on Cymbalta and they use it for fibromyagia as well. I don't know if this is something you have tried, but it might be worth looking into if you haven't. One of the benefits of cymbalta is loss of appetite, so I find it's been much easier losing weight since I've been on it. Good luck! | |||

| I just started on Cymbalta for major depressive disorder and I have zero appetite. I have to force myself to eat and often have nausea as a result. I've had some really strange side effects, but my bad days don't seem as bad and my good days are getting more frequent. I hope it works out for both of us....we'll see. I've been on many antidepressants and gained 70 lbs since 2000. I've lost over 30 lbs, so far. | |||

| I have the most cuddly sweet, non intimidating pit bull in the world. I rescued her as a puppy from people that wanted to fight her. She and I did kinderpuppy classes and she's a fantastic dog. I HATE when people make generalizations about types of dogs. PEOPLE train them to be mean and then others judge them based on this. In my opinion it's just like racism. There are just as many other types of dogs that bite humans and their disposition is based on the way you raise them. They are fundamentally no different than a lot of other dogs. | |||

| I'm starting today, but just for the next two weeks, b/c I have to go to San Diego and see family. It doesn't really work for me long term, but I find that it kick starts my diet when I'm stagnating. I've been in a plateau for several months and am freaking out. I still intend on counting my calories with it and not eating all of the cheeses and things. I don't eat simple carbs anyway, because I feel they are a waste of calories. I'm just cutting out breads and stuff for the next couple weeks. Good luck! It doesn't work for me forever, but it's great for a kickstart!
*Edited to take my opinion of SB out of post. |

| Weight Loss | Q about fizzy drinks and bloating. | Apr 16 2007 23:32 (UTC) |

| I read recently that the artificial sweetners in diet colas cause gas. I've noticed that if I eat an artificially sweetened meal bar and drink diet stuff I get bloated. You can't really win with anything but water... | |||

| I'm not generally an advocate for unneccessary surgery, however some people exercise their butts off forever and never lose their pooch. This is what liposuction was designed for. (It was not designed for sucking out huge amounts of fat, which is what some people think.) Try strength training and everything first though. If you CANT live with it, then this is always an option. Also think about whether or not you plan on having kids (if you don't already) and other things that might negate the effects of the procedure. They do financing now for these procedures now. If I ever get my body anywhere near what I want it to be, I may consider something like this, but I might be super happy with where I've gotten, and say "screw it, people can stare at my pooch when I'm in my bikini. I don't care." It's definitely a very personal choice. | |||

| Probably Oatmeal. I'm studying for my GRE's so I don't have a whole lot of time to cook for the next two weeks. Oatmeal is good for you, filling, and low cal. I eat my big meal of meat, salad, yogurt and other fruits and veggies for lunch, so I don't have to worry about cooking. Your pasta sounds wonderful. I'll enjoy it vicariously through you! | |||

| Hey all!
I'm 5'1" 140lbs as of today Began at 170 in Jan 06 Began on calorie count at 153 in Jan of 07 goal is 110-120 (honestly I'll be happy at 120 as long as I'm fit.) I try to work out almost daily. Iusually do 45 minutes to an hour between my treadmill and elliptical. This past week has been rough. We had guests over the weekend, so the diet went to heck. I'm back on though, as of monday. I dropped like 4 lbs of water weight after going back to my diet. (totally because I didn't drink enough water over the weekend.) Anybody want to have a water challenge? I find this is the hardest thing for me to do, but is most effective in my weight loss efforts. I would like to drink AT LEAST 8 glasses a day. I find it's actually better with 10-12. |

| Yeah. There are lots of mean people out there. When someone is mean to me I just say something REALLY nice back. Like sugary sweet sickeningly nice stuff. This one lady where I used to work was like, "Wow, you really gained a lot of weight!" While I could've said, "you're one to talk, and maybe you should consider taking a shower now and again." I said "Thanks so much for letting me know. You've always been so kind to me." (you have to be SUPER nice about it though. I made it seem like she did me a favor by saying that. She was TOTALLY confused. Apparently she just tries to be a b*tch to get a reaction out of people. I don't allow it. I'm really sorry that happened to you. As others have said, I am a true believer in Karma, so they'll get theirs! | |||
| Weight Loss | Apples...is it just me? | Mar 15 2007 16:15 (UTC) |

| lots of times fruit will make you hungry because of the sugar. I usually use it as a snack between meals and it's okay because I know I'm going to eat later. It's a great source of fiber, so combined with other foods it will help to make you full. Maybe you could combine it w/ yogurt or peanut butter. | |||

| I always leave my calorie allowance thingy on "sedentary" so that I'm not overestimating my activity level. Usually I'm a bit more active, though, even without my daily exercise. I add in my daily exercise in the activity section. I don't know if this is what you did, but if so, then you should be good to go! Good luck and welcome. | |||

| I went to Sears and tried out every single one that they had. The one that I got shakes if it's not on a flat surface and so I had to put magazines under it to level it. I know if you get one with a wider and heavier base, they don't do that. I would try them ALL out to see what fits you best. Good luck. | |||
