| I eat oatmeal every morning. I'm on South Beach and it's in Phase 2. I add cinnamon, sugar-free natural chunky peanut butter (2 teaspoons). and sugar-free maple syrup (about 2 tablespoons). It's like dessert for breakfast! | |||

| sounds good, vcooper! 10 pounds by Memorial Day - I'm with you. I'm also going to commit to SI6, RIU or BIU 5 days a week until then as well. If I miss a day, I'll add them up after Mem. Day until I let myself buy those jeans. There, I said it, it's in writing! |

| lyric - it seems really good to have an event to want to look good for, eh? have fun in New York! I'm going to try your technique of looking ahead on the calendar for something to be skinny for - even if it's going out Friday night. vcooper - you should try lyric's "MO" I understand not getting into it, but after you make yourself do SI6 for a few days and move on, mark off the little boxes on the chart, etc... you do start to get addicted to the way you feel. but you have to move past the beginning stages of soreness. also, it's very motivating to lose inches and firm up and look better in your clothes. you asked for help, does that help? if that doesn't help you try being accountable on the message board or something???? I started to work out Wednesday, my 21 year old came home and wanted to talk, so with no trouble whatsoever, I turned off RIU and talked so long I didn't have time any more!!! It doesn't take much to procrastinate. I worked Thursday and Friday, and it's Sunday night... I need to get back into it but tomorrow I'm having a root canal. I need a goal. Six weeks from tomorrow is Memorial Day - My goal is 10 pounds by Memorial Day using SI6 and South Beach Diet. Anybody want to join in with their own goal? I'm going to buy myself a pair of Lucky or Silver jeans when I reach that goal! Let me know if there are any takers. You can make up your own goal and reward! |

jessica_90, you probably already look great if you're only 14 - happy birthday May 9th, by the way. My 46th birthday is May 16th. I can't imagine SI6 not working for you. It seems like it might even work better for you since you are so young. Let us know if you end up doing it. The thing I love about it is that I feel so much healthier. I am hoping my 19 and 21 year olds will do it. It's great if you're motivated by a better body but the results are a healthy body and that's long lasting. The bigger story is that after 3 weeks off, my husband and I have noticed I don't feel as well and I am lacking the energy working out was giving me. So go for it! Paganmist, congratulations! Sounds like you are doing great! I just started back in on RIU and I am so sore today!!!! I plan on going back and forth between RIU and BIU to maintain my workouts. youfoundjenny, I found a lot of shape doing South Beach and SI6, I bet you're not imagining it. The great thing is, as you kick up your metobolism, you keep loosing. Clothes fit much better and that little extra fat in the tummy shrinks. I plan to keep going and hope to lose even more. lyric280, did you see your friends yesterday? did you feel like you looked good? I hope so. anxious1, boy, I really saw a difference in your 2 week pictures! amazing! can't wait to see the 6 week changes! congrats sweet_tart, thanks for all your encouragement on this site! |

| messam - about the food comment... some of it was great, like the jerk chicken, of course, and all the fresh fruit. the steaks were also wonderful. however, I get kindof grossed out about unveined shrimp and miniature octapus and stuff like that. also the desserts were pretty tasteless and the ice cream was much different than what I'm used to. all in all I was glad because I didn't overeat. I was never that hungry either, so I must have been satisfied. Oh, the other thing was the hamburgers, they grilled them, then left them in a pile in a pan of liquid - unappetizing. breakfast was great, omelets, bacon, delicious donuts, pancakes, fruit, cereal. maybe it was just because I wasn't as hungry in the heat and were coming off a very cold winter when we tend to eat more. I love salads with fruit and nuts and cheese - not much of that type of food. anyway, I hope I didn't offend... do you live in Jamaica? what do you eat? | |||

| Thanks for the info Sweet, I also read the details on SI6. It was very informative! Thanks. I think I'll try Turbo Jam. But first I need to get back into RIU and BIU. I just got back from Jamaica. I took the BIU DVD with me, totally intending to do it, but just relaxed instead. The good thing was I walked a ton and the food wasn't that great. Especially the desserts, it's like they don't use the same kind of sugar or something. Tasteless. I didn't come home with addictions! I'm still exhausted though, but I WILL DO IT TODAY - RIU OR BUST! |

| Hey everyone, just wanted to share something encouraging. I am in the 7th week of the SI6 program (the one when you make up lost days, etc...). My scale hasn't budged after the initial 8 pounds (I am also eating the South Beach diet), however, my clothes are really loose, I went down a size, I know I lost 3 inches in my waist plus others places because I did measure before and after, and I'm feeling so much better. I think I'm continuing to shape and tone as I keep on with the program. I did reach a place where I felt like nothing was happening but my family assured me I was looking better. I think we get used to the changes and maybe discouraged. Remember, we're looking at the SI6 success stories (including Debbie) as we work so hard, then going to the mirror and seeing our own bodies. Take those pictures now (if you haven't already) and start comparing the changes in your own bodies! The best changes are doing something really good for ourselves like daily exercise, drinking lots of water, eating better, etc... It really it worth it. Now, it's time for me to stop procrastinating and go do BIU!!!! Have a great day everyone!!! |

| Thanks, that is helpful. I think I just need to take a chill pill and realize this is the start of a new healthy lifestyle, not a quick way to something unrealistic. (I've had 4 kids and I'm in my 40's). Thanks again! | |||

| Hey, I have a question about calorie burning... how do I know how many calories BIU burns? At least an approximation. I have no idea if I am doing a good job with my food intake vs. energy used etc... | |||

| Thanks for your feedback! I, too, live in a snowy, cold climate - Michigan. One thing I have noticed is that every April, after trying really hard to lose weight since January, the pounds start falling off. I think there might be something to a layer of winter fat! Anyway, I will try not to step on the scale. I have to remember that last time I lost 20 pounds on South Beach it took almost 4 months and I wasn't doing any exercise. I think muscle does weight more that fat. Thanks again, and good luck. |

| Hello everyone! I've been doing SI6, RIU and BIU for 5-1/2 weeks. I am getting discouraged but probably shouldn't be. I have lost 3 inches in my waist, 3 in my hips, 1 in each thigh and 1/2 in my biceps and even 1 inch in my neck! The frustrating thing is I've only lost 8 pounds. I know I should be happy but I was hoping for at least 5 more. Also, I still have belly fat. Will that ever go away? If I keep doing this program will I keep getting results. I'm starting to eat a few sweets here and there instead of being really good (south Beach diet good). Any encourgagement out there? I need to keep going. By the way, this is the first program I've been dilligent about and I really do feel so much better physically. |
