Thanks everyone for the input.  It is good to hear others' experiences.  I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens.  Regardless, I went back to my routine today.  I ate sensibly and excercised.  Thanks again for the support!

Just tell yourself that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.  I know that may be easier said than done, but it's true.  I love food, too, and I've eaten in the past to fill an emotional void, and I'm a lot older than you so this advice comes from experience.  Just stay with your recommended calorie intake, and you can eat anything you want, but in moderation.  I just had a Reese's miniature peanut butter cup, but I know one is all I can have today.  You can do it!

Welcome!  It is good to have another member about my age.  I have been considering joining Curves, too.  I am doing well with the eating part of my program, but need to add more exercise.  I've been using this site for almost 2 months now and I really enjoy all the tools and helpful information.  You're doing great!

The kinds of weight loss fluctuations you are experiencing are perfectly normal.  I weighed 147.4 on Monday.  On Tuesday, I dropped to 146.4.  Today I was back up to 147.  Sometimes it seems like I am not making any progress.  But when I look at my weight from week to week, I usually average about .6 to .8 lb.  It's slow and sometimes discouraging, but then again, I am not really depriving myself too much, only walking about 3 days a week, and still losing.  So I'm satisfied.  I saw my doctor this week and discussed it with her.  She said that was just a good steady weight loss and I would be more likely to keep it off that way.

Keep it up.  You'll get there.

I'm in the age group, but not retired yet.  I look for posts for the older folks so I hope we get something going here.  I don't have much to add.  I'm just trying to live better and eat healthy.

I just found this thread.  I am 5'4", 149 or 150.  I have been going back and forth this week.  I am proud of my progress so far.  I have lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks.  Is anyone else seeing a change in their appetite.  I have always had a very good appetite, b ut since joining  this site and reducing my calories to the recommended 1200, I find that I do not get very hungry any more.  I'll admit I have not gotten into much exercise yet.  I would appreciate any comments.
