I'm guilty of box saving =(

I save my perfume boxes "incase I have to travel" and my soap boxes as well.

Sometimes I save my shopping bags from department stores because they're pretty >>;

Why? You'd have absolutely nothing new to say, you're like a broken record.

I'd have better luck getting a decent conversation from a wall.

This topic is probably better suited for people who use their brain to think, not their crotch.

Interesting topic!

I think a lot of our culture still has the effects of previous decades instilled inside of us.  A lot of women still want to be the preppy house wife, nothing wrong with that.  But there use to exist a time where, that was the only thing you could do with your life, no choices.

I think young people are generally more of the mind set that other people are "pets".  And young people I mean younger teens to early twenties.  I think it's a very hard concept for ANYONE to grasp as committing yourself fully and loving someone, even so much that you'd give your own life to save theirs.  I know some people who would defend their pet's life with theirs, including me, I'd try my best to save my cat, but people would also give their lives for their children.  So where is the difference?

When I see adds with a male model advertising a perfume or different product, I do think they are objects (same with female models).  If I met that person in real life, it would be different.  I think a lot of our culture wishes to keep women's personalities a secret so no one will have a guilty conscience over abusing us.  It's better for those particular people if we have no "feelings" or "opinions".

Okay so here is my thought on the subject.

A.) She is lying to you about how much she has lost because:

1.) She would *most likely* have nasty oil discharge from her butt everyday if she was REALLY eating all those things. I guess she didn't want to mention that?

2.) She want to succeed so badly with out doing any work that she wants to "prove you wrong".

and

B.) When she reaches her goal weight, and stops taking Alli, what do you think will happen as she continues to eat the same food?  That's right, she's going to gain it all back and ruin her body.

YOU on the otherhand will reach your goal and continue to exercise and eat healthy to maintain your new weight.

It really doesn't matter "how fast" or "how well" someone else is doing.  She will realize one way or the other that losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight do not come from pills, it comes from hard work and a healthy lifestyle.

Most tredmills are set to 6" males who weigh 180lbs.  I always go with CC numbers, they may seem low, but because it's calculated with all the data you've put in, it's more likely to be accurate.

Generally speaking, per mile on flat land you burn your body weight in calories.

I second investing in a heart rate monitor, I'm saving up for mine =)

I've been disappointed with every movie I've seen in the last 6 months, save for Juno, Knocked Up, and Super Bad.  I see a pattern lol.

I did want to see Across the Universe, but I dislike muscials.  I actually never remember it being in theaters.  I might avoid it now... I really only liked Chicago out of all the muscials I've seen.

Actually, even working with a nutritionist it would be VERY difficult to get good nutrition on less than 1200 calories a day for a woman.  Nutrition and Energy are NOT the same thing.

Just like higher quality gas is better for your car, but if you need to drive x amount of miles, you won't get there on less gas of a better type.

Also a petite woman 5'2" or 5'3" (I can't remember) weighing 100lbs needs 1200 calories for all of her organs to run, and that's laying down ALL DAY!  If you are constantly getting fewer calories, you will eventually experience consequences.

I use to think I felt fine too, when I was over eating, not exercising, and overindulging in things like soda.  It wasn't until I stopped doing it that I noticed how awful I felt.  Maybe it's the same way for people who knowingly undereat and tell others it's perfectly fine.

I know a lot of people who reached their goal weights on this site who did so eatting too little.  Their body fat percentage SKYROCKETS because even though the scale was going down, it was muscle they were losing.  So now they're just flabby and tired all the time.  If that is the goal of some of you, then have at it.

I've never been tested for endometriosis because I was young and scared of the tests.  Plus the treatment is BC so... They were going to give it to me anyway, why go through all that at 12?

Yes, sometimes I'm "late" even when I stop taking my pill, it's average is 3 days.  If I'm really late, eating ice cream makes me start within a few hours lol.

Sometimes I'm bloated for 10 days, sometimes for 2.  I believe it would normally be that random though, even if I wasn't on BC.

Obviously, my hormones were already messed up enough to force me to go on BC.  I've never blamed any of my problems on it because it has solved so much, I'm very thankful.

I've been on BC since I was 12, so 9 years. (painful periods, not because I was sexually active)

I still gain 3-8lbs on my period, it's a lot worse when my diet sucks (i.e high sugar and salt).  I still PMS, everything is the same except my moodiness (I've been on 6 or 7 different types of pills, because they all have different hormone levels, it's REALLY important to find the right one for EACH person) has improved and my cramps are managable now.

Honestly, I take my pills for 3 months straight, so I have 1 period every 3 months.  It makes my life so much easier.  Yes it's perfectly safe, you can look up the literature on WebMD or talk to your OBGYN about it.  If I try for over 3 months, I break through bleed so..

However, during the time where I continue to take my pills, my body still kinda knows it's "that time" so I will bloat a little and get moody.  I call it my faux period.

It honestly looks like you switched to "too low calorie" foods and now you're having a hard time eating more "grams" of food.

I honestly never met someone who couldn't eat a spoon of peanutbutter because they were too full.

You could try trail mix, yogurt covered almonds, dried fruit ect.  All high calorie choices that are good for you.

You can also add some granola to your cereal OR yogurt, it's really not very filling but it's high in calories.

Again, switch your milk and yogurt to a higher fat percentage, you can eat and drink the same amount or "grams", but you'll be getting more calories.

If you have problems with low blood sugar (diagnosed?) Fainting, shaking, ect, yes you need to eat, even if it's just a couple pieces of dried fruit.

Switch to a full fat yogurt and full fat milk.

If you're still low, eat a table spoon of peanutbutter, provided you are not allergic =)  (you can even put it on your apple)
The Lounge Even more wedding issues. Feb 09 2008

Sometimes I get my feelings hurt if my family members don't invite or ask me to do something, even if they know I'm working or busy.  It's the novelty of being thought of that feels good.

I'd cut out a few more flowers, and send them the invitations, it doesn't mean they'll actually go.  If they're as self-centered as you say, I'm sure they already have plans.

If she brings up showers and registry, come up with a phrase that you're comfortable saying like "I'm sorry, but that isn't how I intended my wedding to be" or "My husband will be the best gift and celebration of all, I really don't need all of that". Maybe "Thanks for the thought, but we've already decided against that."

It is your wedding, you certainly don't "need" anyone there you don't want, there is a fine line between politely pleasing family and letting them take over your ceremony.  I'm sure Alex will have some good ideas.

Good luck =)
Weight Loss Protective over food Feb 09 2008

I have *some* issues with this.  Mainly because I'm such a picky eater that I use to often go hungry when my family ate the foods I liked, usually before I ever got to touch it.

Now that I go grocery shopping for myself (my mom still picks some things up for me at costco since I don't have a membership yet) I still find the food I like getting eaten.

I usually don't mind as long as it's not the "last one" and if they ask me first.  That way I don't just wake up one morning and I'm out of half my food randomly, I can plan my shopping trips around what others eat.

My dad can eat nearly an entire bag of cereal by himself, in one sitting.  So if I pick up a fresh thing of cereal, it can be gone the day after I go to the store.  He says "we can always buy more".  But I can't even remember him ever doing ANY grocery shopping.  Sure he sometimes stops to get milk once a month if we're low, but he isn't running to the store everytime he eats something of someone elses.

I protest, but I don't freak out.

Vagisil causes extreme redness and burning for me. (and in most women, this is why I believe they said to not use it)

I only use monistat normal relief cream for any itching with no discharge.

Sometimes I wash my underwear with too much detergent and I get minor skin irritation from it.  I belive they call it contact dermititis?

You may want to change the soap you are using to wash "down there" to something vegetable based with no added preservatives/dyes/fragrance.

Do an "extra rinse cycle" for your laundry when your underwear is involved, and try to sleep only in cotton underwear or none at all for some extra relief.

I saw a slight difference when I started yoga.  Then I mixed pilates in, new areas tighened up.

Now I'm taking a body works class, and it does exactly what it says it does, yikes.  It's a step arobic class (with out the complex moves you need to remember) with added weights.  You also use the step to do squats and all sorts of other exercises that make my hips and upper thighs SCREAM.

I've only taken 6 classes so far and the difference is quite dramatic, I can't say I'm not pleased.  I'll always be a pear, but maybe I can lower my hip to waist ratio this way.

This use to happen to me when I was younger, quite often.  It usually occurs for me right after or instead of side aches.

For me it was a terrible deep ache/shooting pain.

I wasn't really out of shape as a child, so that wasn't the reason.

When I was getting x-rayed for my back pain (unrelated issue) they noticed a lot of "gas" and "fecal" matter in my body.  So basicly I was constipated!

Since I've been "regular" there hasn't been an issue.

Probably wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor though.

I've always been pretty bad about my water intake, but when I realized that my other beverages and even FOOD count as water, I wasn't so bummed that I could only choke down 1 bottle a day.

I actually never got enough "water" as a child and had reoccuring bladder and kidney infections.

I still drink plain teas, a little coffee, juice, milk/soy/rice, fuze, and diet sodas such as hansens.

Sushi is not bad for a diet, at all.  It's actually more like 250 - 300 per 8 pieces of something like spicy tuna.

If it has double fish, it might be 400/500 per roll.

As long as you stay away from deep fried rolls, sushi is extremely healthy.

What type of Dumpling was it? Pot sticker or Bao?

An entire Mango is 135 calories, I doubt you ate more than one mango.

I love cream cheese on mine.  Not that it would be helpful in saving calories.

There is a sugar free syrup I really like... I think the brand is Cary's?  It just tastes "light" not fake instead, which I actually prefer over normal syrup.  It's like $4/5 a bottle, but because I rarely use it, it lasts me about 6-8mo.

Thank you for your post eringilbert, I'm glad someone other than me caught on. =)

PG you really don't know me, just like I don't really know you, or this girl posting.

Thanks for looking at my profile instead of the OPs before posting, nice touch.  BTW I had no childhood to speak of because I suffer from chronic back pain every day. I lost all my friends, had to get home schooled by my school, I even stupidly entered an abusive relationship. When I wasn't bed ridden, I was at my computer.  So maybe that can contribute to my "age".  I didn't just turn 21 and suddenly assume I was an adult, I've never had the luxury of being a child.

During this time I used online forums to comfort myself, and even though I was truthfull, and didn't "troll", I still wish someone told me to log off and get some real help for my problems.  Not keep encouraging me to come back.

I'm really sorry you are so defensive, I truely thought maybe you might care how you made me feel, since you seem to care so much about the girl posting.  Are those feelings reserved only for those who cause drama/pout/cry/call themselves names?

Maybe you're stressed out, I don't know, but you seem to be acting out of character and I'm really boggled.

I was hoping to patch things up, but you seem to take greater pleasure digging your heels in.
