| Weight Loss | 5'2ers, what's your goal weight? | May 29 2008 16:46 (UTC) |

| I'm 5'2". I started at 164 about a year ago but am currently bouncing between 132 - 135. I'm actually really happy with what I see, my top half and my bottom half both look great, but I'm still not happy with my stomach (where I keep 90% of my extra weight. I've always had pretty decent legs and my arms/shoulders were the first to slim down and tone up. I would like to be in the low-mid 120's. Another 10lbs would make me a very happy camper!!!
I love seeing all the other 5'2"ers for comparison :) |

Current Weight: 132-135 Starting weight: 164 last year Goal: low-mid 120's Calories: Was 1400 but recently I've totally slacked off, probably eating around maintenance, hence the not losing! Exercise: I go to the gym, but it bores me to death. I like to get out hiking whenever the FREAKING rain stops. |

| You look amazing and definitely seem like the body type that will be able to achieve a "six pack". 144 does sound low, but based on your height and looks I'd say you're on track. Now it's time to focus on building muscle rather than losing weight! Good luck!!! | |||

| Weight Loss | Any Shorties who want a BMI of 22 or more out there? | Apr 29 2008 20:39 (UTC) |
|
| Im 5'2" and 132lbs, down from 164 a year ago. My goal was 127 (my happy weight 3 years ago), but I'm going to lower that number to around 120 I think. I can tell now that 5 more pounds will not put me where I want to be...but 10-12 more should be close!! | |||
| Weight Loss | Another Sizes Poll | Apr 29 2008 20:32 (UTC) |

| I'm a total Jeans-shopaholic. I'm more of a brand person than a specific store kinda gal, but I regularly shop at a few stores....
Stores: 5/6 Aeropostale 6 Old Navy 4 NY and Company Brands: (jeans) 28 Hot Kiss 28 Buffalo 28 Seven 7 Heaven and Terra 7 Industrial Cotton 7 ZCo I found that the higher end jeans are more uniformed in size, compared to the other stores that are completely all over the place. Guess I'm pretty much a 28/7 across the board. |

| Fitness | What speed do you run at on the treadmill? | Apr 03 2008 15:01 (UTC) |

| I was a "walk only" gal for a long time, I walk at 4mph. I recently started running at 6mph, I haven't gone faster but defintely dont feel as if I'm pushing myself hard enough at 6. I'll up it soon! Also, I don't run for long periods of time, I sprint for 30 seconds, then walk at 4mph for a minute, then back up to 6mph for 30 seconds, then back down and so on. | |||
| Weight Loss | 2 Scales read different, but the same? | Apr 03 2008 14:50 (UTC) |

| My have the same situation. I have 2 scales, one digital, one old fashioned. They are both consistant but the digital one always reads 4lbs more than the other one. I go by the higher weight on the digital scale. I periodically place a 10lbs weight on the digital to make sure it's true. I do the same to the old one but since its a dial type if hard to see precisely where the needle is. | |||

| Recipes | Anybody have a light version of artichoke dip? | Mar 24 2008 18:36 (UTC) |
1 |
| Trader Joes make a GREAT frozen Spinach Artichoke dip. It's 45 calories for 2 tablespoons, which isn't terrible. And I believe the entire thing only has like 7 or 8 servings, so even if you lose control and eat it all, the worse you can do is just over 300 calories for the entire thing....plus any chips....but if you dip veggies you'll be in good shape!! :) | |||

| Weight Loss | ?!?!Salt Water?!?! | Mar 13 2008 15:18 (UTC) |
|
| I believe the salt water drink was part of some type of cleanse.....supposed to make you go to the bathroom. I tried it one day a long long time ago and even though I'm an avid salt lover, 1 sip and I was DONE, just VILE. I'd rather never poop again then drink that. They also warn you may throw up. Yeah, sign me up!! | |||

| As with anything....read 10 articles, 5 will say cardio then weights with supporting arguments, the other 5 will say weights then cardio with supporting arguments just as believable as the other side. I do whatever I feel like doing when I walk in to door of my gym :) 9 times outta 10 I do 30 minutes cardio, 25 minutes of weights, then another 20 minutes cardio. | |||
| Foods | Olives........olives?! | Mar 12 2008 20:35 (UTC) |

| Olives are a good fat, like nuts. I love them! I usually eat them plain, or shopped into salads. I like to sautee veggies in olive oil, lemon, olive juice and olives too! They are also GREAT mixed into cream cheese and spread on bagels.....well, English Muffins for me now. But I used to eat bagels with cream cheese and olives all the time!! A lot of delis even have a prepared green olive cream cheese behind the counter. I can't think of many other things that call for olives. | |||
| Weight Loss | Losing 14lbs before July | Mar 11 2008 13:56 (UTC) |

| I'm 5'2" as well, I started at 164 a year ago and I'm currently averaging 135 (my middle name is flucuate!). Right now I'm weighing in at anywhere between 133 and 137. I'm trying to make goal by the beginning of summer, but will settle for making it by July :) 3 weeks ago I joined a gym and started regular rountine. My "goal" number is 125 but when I make that, I will keep going. | |||

| God I love rice! That definitely doesn't sound like a "healthy" way to lose weight, but I would enjoy it very much! :)
When I have rice with my meals, I always cheat and pick up a pint at the Chinese place....already cooked, steaming hot, and only like $1, LOL. But that's true, Asians eat rice with every meal and they are itty bitty!! |

| I'm going to jump on this wagon as well!!! It's totally the "boys" side, LOL. I've gotten so comfy using the machines.....but I've been reading that machines I have been using may not be doing what I want them to be doing!
I agree with rcfylr - get there early or go late to try new things. My gym is 24 hours and if I go at 11 at night, I'm totally alone (not even employees, it's a keytag entrance) and I can try ALL the workouts I want without looking silly. Then when people are around, I jump on the machine like a seasond pro!! |

| Foods | low cal dressings that are yummy | Feb 26 2008 16:13 (UTC) |

| The Newman's Own Asian Sesame (or Asian Ginger - I can never remember the name even though I used it daily!) Spritzer is OMIGODSOGOOD!!! I like to spritz every bite :) Probably about 30.....which is 3 x's the serving size, but still only 30 cals. I'm not a fan of creamy low cal dressings. Also, I eat BIG salads and even at 30 cals for 2 tablespoons, I inevitably end up using 3 servings and 100 extra cals is just not worth it IMO!
And as most people know, you can never go wrong with WishBones Just2Good Italian :) |

| Weight Loss | What part of your body has shrunk the most? | Feb 25 2008 15:15 (UTC) |
24 |
| I suppose my waist has technically gone down the most (since it had the most to lose), but the area I was the LEAST concerned with is a very close second....my hips and butt! I hadn't really measured my waist beacuse I never knew how to do it properly. Obviously it's gone down a lot, I went from 164 to 133 and a snug size 12 to a size 6, bordering on 4. I'm 29" now so I assume I was at least 34"-35". My chest has only gone from 39 to 37.5" over the past year and my hips have gone from 39.5" to 36". I need them to stop shrinking NOW! lol | |||

| Yeah that's out there! My parents live in Levittown and my boyfriend is in Central Islip now....so my time is split between the two places as well. We are moving to MN is because that where he is from. He came out here after college for work in 2002 but is ready to go back. He's made his professional and financial connections in NY and is ready to take it back Midwest nad put it to good use! I've visited before and really liked it. His family is WAY up north in Duluth but we'll be living in a suburb just outside Minneapolis.
When I visited in May, we actually went over to Wisconsin, his buddy has a couple amazing cabins (when you say "cabin" to me, I think wood walls, 1 room, no bathroom...these were mansions on the water, LOL) on the Minong Flowage and we stayed there for a weekend. It was GORGEOUS! I've never really left Long Island, so it was a total shock to me!!!!!! Sorry for stealing the thread....carry on with the dancing! |

| Foods | What's the big deal with Italian food? | Feb 20 2008 17:29 (UTC) |
1 |
| I agree with the others, the biggest deal is the portion. There are 200 calories in a 2oz portion, which alone, is a very small amount. Based on experience, most restaruant serve upwards of a pound per dish.....8 servings! And that's not including any additional things on the pasta or on the side. | |||

| Hey Andrea Lynn, I just checked your profile and see you are from Lindenhurst. I used to live in Lindenhurst, I recently moved farther east......my name is Andrea Leigh :) Though I still go back to some old hangouts over there. Funny too, I see you are from Wisconsin, I'm moving to Minnesota shortly, about 20 miles from the Wisconsin border. When I used to frequent clubs, I most defintely logged dancing!! I would be non-stop for 4-5 hours....that's gotta add up to something! :) |
