ooh yeah Napa is nice! My good friend and his family moved there this year. unfortunately so far!

I went to the Culinary Institute for my bday with mom this year, AMAZING!

I adore Aptos and its foggy/sunny weather, but we are toying with finding a new locale after summer. maybe Seattle or BC. I have never experienced "real" seasons, as non-californians like to tell me. (so what right?) I want to enjoy the long empty beaches while I can.

Um please don't move to Seattle: it only really has 1 season which is Rain or a cloudy day...I moved to the Bay Area to get away from it...Good luck!

I moved to the bay area (Berkeley) to get away from Portland's rain! I didn't have the best of circumstances though: I moved there alone in the middle of winter! I love the NW but just for vacation! However, if you DO move to BC I have some wonderful contacts for you!

hey i'd like to join! my bulimia began 3 1/2 yrs. ago, when i moved out of the house at 18 i continued the binging without the purging & gained 15lbs. then last winter i came here to become healthy again, but as stressful situations came up over the summer i fell back into ole habits and spiraled down, big time, again. I am so ready to be free from the constant abusive, controlling thoughts that come with having an ED. Also, my boyfriend, also my best friend, recently found me out. It was devastating--i feel so shameful & guilty yet still, almost angry that it is not my secret anymore. so, i am here to help & be helped--jenn

mmm, good point. i guess any protein shake would do, calorie wise i'd go for one between 150-250 per serving. shakes are what i used to reintroduce food into my life, helped a lot! i like em because they do make you feel full but not gross, "i just ate food" full...lol. plus, like i said, the nutritional benefits- more energy=happier!

Hey sasha- my mom has these protein/weight-loss shakes from "isagenix" & while your recovering (yeah!) you might want to look into them. A serving is 230 calories with tons of nutrinional goodies in them. So, maybe instead of the empty bread & mousee's you could substitute one of these to get some more nutrition in you...good luck, really!

sigh.

hey! okay, let me give a little personal history: i started purging when i tried to starve myself, about 3 years ago. The purging soon turned into bingeing then purging. My weight went down (140) but it was due to loss of muscle--not change in size & serious leg flab. I made a commitment to stop the awful cycle i was into: starve, bing, purge. So far it's going alot smoother than i thought it would-i was just at my breaking point & there was no one left to go but up! my last binge hadnt been since late october...until 2 weeks ago. i was at home for a vacation & was feeling uneasy about being around my recent ex as well as under the pressures of coming home "accomplished." I recovered, or so i thought, until last night...it was awful! The thing is i know WHY i'm doing it (read-FINALS!) but i still cant stop. Also, my roomate was gone, leaving me alone with food (something i avoid!) Anyways i'd love any tips you can offer!

currently: 158 (same pant size as 140 but with MUSCLES!)  i have gained weight since my commiment to stop binge/purging & am struggling to lose that last layer of fat!

Exercise: 3-4/wk swimming 30-60 minutes, 4-5/wk walking at incline 30 min & biking 20min, some running throughout too

(sorry for the saga!) thanks!
